Thinking about higher education, need help/advice
Steer clear of DeVry. What you hear (for the most part) is almost always true about it. I had a teacher in one of my community college classes who taught at DeVry as well and even HE did not feel as though the cost-to-education was close to even.

COD4 Vs Battlefiled 2142 - Pros and Cons
Lets just toss this game aside and focus on the current main Armory-games. Maybe even get some updates on FA:Source.......or some talk of TF2 clan-playing

COD4 Vs Battlefiled 2142 - Pros and Cons
Sadly I must be the rotten apple about CoD4. I personally found the single-player to be almost like a mod for CoD2 or CoD3 (xbox360/ps3). It was fun, but I guess I had higher expectations. The multi-player seemed like a total let down from how much they hyped it up and promised a unique and different feel from the past games. I still feel like I'm playing my old CoD1 (along with expansion, but at least that had vehicles) multi-player. Battlefield 2142 is still my top-dog fps....well, next to TF2 now. 2142 may be tied for 1st if only I could get that blank Punkbuster error to quit popping up and kicking me. I would like to see/play with a few Armory people on some TF2 though I've been playing it on the SomethingAwful servers (comedy website/forums/etc...) since they try to keep control of who is allowed in (filter out the pubbies/very bad apples).

Want a new DS game
Elite Beat Agents is awesome. Another is either of the Pokemons (childish, but fun none-the-less), and aside from those, be sure to grab Metroid Prime: Hunters so that if there's wifi available, you can keep fragging online

Runtime errors with Garry's Mod and HL2
Decided to reinstall Garry's mod recently and give it another go with the upgraded computer. Only problem I'm facing now is that any time i try to start it OR HL2 up, they both give me C++ Runtime errors. CS:S and HL2:DM both work perfectly, but Garry's mod and HL2 are creating these problems. I've tried searching online, but haven't seen any fixes nor people having problems like I explained (usually, they'll get a runtime error when trying to join a server, which gives them a bit diff. version of the runtime error). Both of them bring up the mini-window saying "launching HL2/Garry's-Mod" or whatever, but when that should dissappear and the game show up, the runtime error comes up. Also, just for extra info: I have updated/reinstalled the latest for my video card driver AND done a update/reinstall of my directx. /monthly_06_2011/post-433-130810200083_thumb.jpg

Desktops
I like to keep my desktop clutter to a minimum, so I have got everything shortcut-linked in the quick-launch and taskbar (folders/programs/etc). /monthly_06_2011/post-433-130810199393_thumb.jpg /monthly_06_2011/post-433-13081019941_thumb.jpg

Feels like its missing something, but that may just be me. http://fc02.deviantart.com/fs18/f/2007/207/e/9/Armory_v__red_by_jman10001.jpg thats basically the same stuff, but with just a red theme. not really too interested in it cause it was just for fun to see what it would look like. thanks for the feed-back thus far

Recipe Swap for Gamers!
gotta share it cause i know it by heart. I introduce to you: No-bakes! -1 stick of butter -1/2 cup of milk -2 cups of sugar -1/2 cup of peanut butter -1/2 cup of baking cocoa -1 tsp of vanilla -3 cups of oats Ok, lets get started! First, you're gonna want to put the butter into a pot (decent size, as you don't want it too small; its gonna fill up soon). Set a top-burner onto about medium heating and let the pot sit while the butter melts. Once the butter has melted and started to boil a bit, pour in the milk and quickly follow with the sugar and begin stirring to get it pasty. Once you've gotten it to that state, put the peanut-butter in and stir that until it's melted in with everything else as well. Put in the baking cocoa and the vanilla. Once all of this is mixed in, let it sit for awhile and boil. When you begin to see it boiling/bubbling, turn off the heat and mix it a bit more. Now comes decision time! You can do 1 of 2 things here: A- Add in the 3 cups (or more if still too loose/moist) -or- B- Add 2 1/2 cups of oats and 1/2 cup of chopped walnuts. Stir everything until it becomes hard to stir and thick. Take a spoon out (normal cereal-eatin' spoon!), and lay down small balls or clumpos of the no-bakes onto a sheet of plastic wrap and let sit for about 15-20minutes to harden up or put in the freezer to have a cool/crusty outside and a warm-gooey inside.

Anyone have a DS Lite?
i got one as well along with the original. i'll give ya the list of games i have (try to keep the gems and get rid of the dirt, if ya catch my drift) -Mario Kart DS (pretty good online racing....beware the snakers) -Diddy Kong Racing DS (very good online modes, racing/battle/tournament, just a bit slower paced than mario kart) -Metroid Prime: Hunters (my current experience: best hand-held fps I've ever played on either ds or psp.....strictly amazing still. online is tough, but once you get your fav. character's style down, you can dominate like no other, be sure to give me your friend code if you get it! ) -Diagasso! Band Brothers: Import of a pretty fun music game where its somewhat like ddr or beatmania in the sense that you hit corresponding buttons or button-combinations to create a certain sound of an instrument you choose within the song you choose from a list (BIG list btw). very fun game, especially since you can make your own songs, have unlimited amount of ppl for multiplayer (if they have their own carts) or have up to 4 or 8 players using 1 cart (game-share option). -Cooking Mama: what can i say.....i like to cook and cooking mama makes what i enjoy even better. its basically mini-games about making food-items, but you can also make your own combinations of food(s) and the recipes are almost realistically true (for alot of them) to where you can almost make it off what they tell ya to do -Elite Beat Agents: get it. great music-rythem game totally different from ddr/beatmania/etc... with tons of replay value and coop/versus play. -Final Fantasy 3: only final fantasy game to never see an American release (though you could have played a translated copy of the NES rom). Whats even better is its all re-made in ff7-like 3d, and because of it's success so far, they're working on making ff4 in the same style! 'online' if you can call it that, sucks to say the least (you can message ppl). -Trauma Center: Very fun game definatly tests your skill under pressure, which makes for a very rewarding yet dramatic game experience. -Animal Crossing: Its pretty good, but if you stop playing for awhile and come back, you have lotsa work to do to repair your town fun none-of-the-less though, especially with visiting friend's towns online too. -StarFox DS: i loved the n64 starfox (still my fav.) and if you enjoyed the all-range-mode missions from it, you'll like this one. the only downside is the strategy part in it can be annoying, but the online is alotta fun! -Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: I'll admit, I did feel dorky buying it, but the old-school dungeon crawling with party members that you can have break off from your group and battle seperatly made me love the game. Give it a try if you like those old school dungeon crawler games. -Pokemon Diamond/Pearl: Get it. Get it. Get it. I stopped getting the pokemon games after silver/gold were released, so i never did venture into the gba ones, but this one is worth it, especially with online battles/trading, customizations, and just the sheer amount of actual GAME crammed into it. You will NOT be sorry. Also to let ya feel better, I've seen way more adults play this game than kids -Advanced Wars D.S: pretty good game if you like strategy games. was one of the first games i bought and i'm still pretty happy with it (though online would have made it golden). the map-creator is awsome with the whole double-commander thing being strictly brilliant. -Harvest Moon DS: avoid this game like the plague. There is one that will come out later on (will be in actual 3d, to help tell the difference in future reference). this game has soooooo many bugs in it that its totally ruined. my girlfriend and i both got this game (both of us fans of the older ones), but there's a bug in nearly every part of the game that will either make it so you can't see villagers anymore, go inside any houses anymore, or totally corrupt your game and force you to restart. bad bad bad bad and bad. -Nintendogs: yes.....i got it >.> but only because it had a german shepard in it (which i love) and i was able to teach him all his tricks in german along with dress him up in a pirate hat with a spiked collar. All-in-all, its a pretty fun tech-showing game, but if you've got a real pet......well, you get the picture. -Jump Superstars!: Another import title that is AWSOME. ever played super smash bros? (more than likely, yes) Basically this is super-smash bros, but using Jump Shonen characters instead (also 2D-comic-styled). Characters like Naruto, Dragon Ball Z, Bobobobo-bobo, Prince of Tennis, One Piece, and a TON of others are in here. The only downside is if your japanese isn't really up-to-par, you'll need to go somewhere like gamefaqs.com and read a walk-through to help you understand the missions of the single-player so that you can unlock all the awsome stuff to make your own comic-based team....there's really too much in it to explain shortly, but look into it or better yet, the 2nd one if you're able to. thats all i can really say for now (thats all my games so far). but be sure to stay tuned on the e3 showings going on now the new Zelda game is quite amazing (from what importers are saying) and final fantasy crystal chronicals, final fantasy revenant wings, final fantasy 4, final fantasy tactics advanced 2, dragon warrior, Front Mission (can't wait, loved it on snes), Heroes of Mana, Contra 4, Call of Duty 4, and others

What Song?
can't say i turn my music down or roll up my windows i usually do quite the opposite (turn it up, act silly/dance). the only time i do turn my music down is when i'm listening to weird al rap parodies..... mainly cause i don't want to get shot when waiting at a traffic light goin to class.

certain genre/system/etc...? personal favs = C&C 3(PC), Gears of War (360), World of Warcraft, Resident Evil 4(GC), Monster Hunter (ps2 or psp). Aside from that, if you want something thats a hidden treasure, get Okami (ps2) or Diagasso! Band Brothers (DS, japan only: import)
