  1. Good handling with the brakes, too, man. Glad you're ok. Sounds like someone with stealth sabatoged the axle! I'll get em. ::hides in Klif's garage, his clay on manual::
  2. Found this link to a comment posted by Gator a bit over a year ago. I found it insightful and even laughable. http://www.fa-thearmory.net/modules.php?op=modload&name=News&file=article&sid=30&mode=thread&order=0&thold=0 It's about TA and how it started. This is part one. I've been unsuccessful in finding part two, so if someone knows where I can find it, post it please
  3. That;s just binary code visualized unless you updated your definitions
  4. And I'm old enough to miss the light brown M&M's Those always tasted the best!
  5. My M&M's are black and white! I always like tasting the different colors. No, really. They do have unique flavors. Honest!
  6. This is a mass-mailing worm that arrives in an email message as follows:From: (spoofed)Subject: (Random)Body: (Varies, such as) The message cannot be represented in 7-bit ASCII encoding and has been sent as a binary attachment. The message contains Unicode characters and has been sent as a binary attachment. Mail transaction failed. Partial message is available. Attachment: (varies [.exe, .pif, .cmd, .scr] - often arrives in a ZIP archive) (22,528 bytes)The icon used by the file tries to make it appear as if the attachment is a text file. When this file is run it copies itself to the local system with the following filenames: c:\Program Files\KaZaA\My Shared Folder\activation_crack.scr %SysDir%\taskmon.exe (Where %Sysdir% is the Windows System directory, for example C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM) It also uses a DLL that it creates in the Windows System directory: %SysDir%\shimgapi.dll (4,096 bytes) It creates the following registry entry to hook Windows startup:HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run "TaskMon" = %SysDir%\taskmon.exe The worm opens a connection on TCP port 3127 suggesting remote access capabilities.
  7. From what I've read, it's a worm. It'll attach itself to whatever it feels like. It's also using Kazaa if available. Meaning it'll do it itself when you share files on Kazaa.
  8. I have to agree with Tfen and Mac. Prospeedball only takes a couple of minutes. Some of us could use the bathroom and make a burrito during that time. I don't mind the map, as it's a nice change of pace. Last night, I switched from my usual bizon/M79 config on that map and went knifing. Sure, I was 11 and 24. But they were all great knife kills
  9. I dunno if it's fixed yet, but here's mine. I had the same crap happinin. If another window tried to open up (such as right click -> open in new window) explorer would just crash. The toobar name lookes kinda the same. adware didn't work for me. neither did reinstall of IE. I had to reformat to fix the problem. Didn't try the other toolbars. Reformattings easy for me, as I keep the most importat stuff on memory keys.
  10. Ok, I have MAYBE 3 systems lying around in parts. But by systems I mean stuff anywhere from a 386 up to my most recent retiree of a 450 P2. Truthfully, I don't know what's lying in my basement. Or in my closets. Be a lil more specific, and I might be able to salvage somethin. No promises tho Chances are I won't find anything useful. But ya never know...
  11. Now that guy can move. Go Mac!

Is bullet time instantanious in FA? Meaning, do I have to lead a moving target? Or if I put my xhairs on the target and fire will it hit him? Cuz I'm leading...and I just thought about this :?
  15. My name is Bob, and I'm a 24 year-old computer network specialist from WI. I graduated from the University of AZ with a 3.84 GPA and a BA in CIS. I teach SAT preperation courses to local highschool students, as well as offer tutoring on any highschool subject, as well as many college courses. I am currently working for the University of WI as a network technitian. I play FA because it is a release from the stress, responsibilites, and burdens that I deal with 7 days a week. To be able to spend 2-4 hours in an online multiplayer game is quite a reward after a long 12 hour day listening to people complain about how they deleted their email on accident. The camraderie amongst FA players, especially those who are regulars to TA server and forums is far superior to that of any social or interactive gathering I've ever experienced. Nobody goes unnoticed when they ask a question. No one is brushed off automatically. And yes, a visual videogame such as FA can often times produce more stimuli to the brain than watching TV (which is not interactive) or reading (which doesn't require cognitive decision-making). Just do your homework, pay attention in class, and you'll make me happy. Oh, don't forget to bring the teachers an apple!MEDIC!
  16. On the topic of my last post:"I've searched a couple different forums for binding, but can't find exactly what I'm lookin for. I even found a French site, but couldn't make enough of it to work. I'm trying to bind my CTRL button (normally crouch) to a locked crouch. Push it, it locks, push it again, it stands. Much like prone works. Also, I'd like to do the same to SHIFT for walking. Any help'd be appreciated."[TA]-Laughing_Fat_man replied:>> Try this, found it on a CS scripting site.. alias duck_t "duck_on" alias duck_on "alias duck_t duck_off; +duck" alias duck_off "alias duck_t duck_on; -duck" bind "ctrl" "duck_t">>So, I put it in config.cfg, but it'll only work until a map change. Or I restart HL. At the top of config, it says to use userconfig.cfg for custom changes, so I made a userconfig.cfg and put the above in there. But it still won't work right. However, I also made my own bind for a crouch jump:alias jump_t "+duck_t; +jump; +duck_t"bind "SPACE" "+jump_t"I put that into userconfig, and it WILL stay, wether I change maps, restart, etc. It stays put. So why doesn't the crouch lock work?FYI, in config.cfg, the first line is unbindall and the last line is exec userconfig.cfgThese lines are not in userconfig.cfgThanks in advance. And thanks, Fat Man.
