EDIT: I get all soft in this post, so if ya don't like softness, skip it! I don't watch much TV. At all. I watch all NFL, some college football, and the Cubs. However, every 4 years I sit on my couch for 5 days. Those 5 days start this Tuesday at 1:30 AM Central Time. In Sydney in 2000, Russian wrestler Aleksandr Karelin (120kg) was seeking his fourth Olympic Gold. Boasting a record 3 Olympic Gold Medals, Karelin had never lost an Olympic bout. Over the past 13 years he had not lost a single match, winning 9 World Championships and 12 European titles. With a career reccord of 63-0, in the last 10 years of interanational competition Karelin had given up a grand total of zero points to his opponents. Considered to be the greatest Greco-Roman wrestler to have ever entered competition, Aleksander Karelin was defeated by Rulon Gardner, a 29 year old dairy farmer from Wyoming. In his first Olympic appearance, Gardner defeted possibly the greatest wrestler who ever lived by a 1-0 score in overtime. I'm getting all emotional about this...wrestling is such a personal experience...the dedication...the blood, sweat, and the thousands of tears I alone shed during my training. Nowhere else in my life will I ever feel what I feel about Olympic wrestling. As I watched live TV and wittnessed this amazing battle of human dedication, I had a sensation and emotional rush that will be surpassed by only the birth of my future children. The Olympics aren't about countries, or medals, or even sports. The Olympics are about dreams. Wrestling is just one way of fulfilling that dream. http://www.geocities.com/Colosseum/Bleachers/8651/khead.jpg Aleksandr Karelin If anyone wants to know more about wrestling, or any of this, just PM me. /thread hijacking :?

  15. Well, first off, that's because the server isn't running CD at the moment, but it will go back on soon. So, for right now, you can turn CD off. However, the current working version of CD is NOT 4.23.2, rather it is 4.23.3. This version, (which works perfectly fine) is NOT available at unitedadmins.com. Instead, click this link http://cd.vdocs.net/cd-client-4_23_3-en.exe I just downloaded it like 6 hours ago, and it works fine. I don't care enough to read the UA forums as to why this isn't on their download, because I don't play on other servers very often. But, this is the one you want, wether you're on TAC or any other up-to-date server.

There was a philosopher/writer named Friedrich von Schlegel pioneered comparative Indo-European linguistics. He found similarities between Sanskrit, Persian, Greek, and Latin. These similarities caused him to claim that India was where Western culture was born. With the similarities between the races/languages he coined the term "Aryans" (the noble people) for those who had moved from northern India to Europe. Pretty soon, some genius decided that Indo-Europeans actually originated in northern Europe! Then it didn't take long for everybody to have the idea that Aryans looked like the common northern European (blonde, blue, hint hint). Moving in the 18th century, anti-Semitic German philosophers saw the Jews in Germany as the main non-Aryan race, all because the roots of Judiasim were foreign to north-central Europe. And of course by then everybody knew, thanks to the anti-Semetic scholars, that real Aryans were very similar to blonde-haired, blue-eyed caucasians. Unfortunately, the small but significant misinformations ultimately led up (under questionable government) to what is now known as the Holocoust. /bustin out anthropology 201

    1. its Arian 2. Its a made up race Actually, it's both. As used as an adjective, or pertaining to something, it's Arian. As a race (it's not, it's an ethnicity) the proper useage is the noun Aryan. The Aryan race is correct. "The Arian artifacts found were carbon dated around 400 AD." "During WWII, the Nazi party looked down upon anyone who was Aryan." Even tho the Aryan ethnicity is now considered to be the blonde, blue-eyed caucasian people, the term originated from the Indo-Iranians, the peoples who populated what was then the Fertile Crescent. In fact, the name Iran is derived from Aryan. Ahh, the irony. /educational pwnage Ok, back to topic. What is EMO?
