Did you post anything containing swastikes or the like? They are very strict about that. I have Admin access to the FA forums - I'll look into it...

FOUND: Reason behind the death DC 0.8
Geez - don't tell me you guys are surprised about this. It's old news that Trauma now works on BF2 and yes - that's why DC will discontinue after this last release. Also stating that 0.8 wont happen is also untrue. DC 0.8 will be called DC_Final - that too is no secret. It doesnt make sense to waste time on any additional DC releases since yes - BF2 is coming out in April of 2005. Now from a dev perspective - what's wrong with them using DC maps to test and develop new features? As new maps are being developed for BF2 - they need "something" to work with, wouldn't you agree? What I really like about the screenshot is that it validates Trauma's participation on the BF2 development. Fan's of DC will agree that this is a "good" thing - not bad.The whole "DC is dead" discussion is a joke. DC will live on in BF2.

Is DC & FA Dead? - Where are we going?
Gator lives in Campy-Country now muhahaha - we'll setup new as the Armory Warriors or something cheesy like that

I saw 512 Meg PC 3200 DDR sticks at SAM's Club for like $89. 512 Meg PC 2700 DDR for $95. Not bad...

You also need a good boost in memory CJ. If I recall your sys specs in another forum far far away - you listed your system as having 256 megs of RAM. Most of these games - DC included - run significantly better with 512 megs or higher (pref 1 Gig). When I first tried to play DC - I only had 256 megs and a 64 meg video card. FA never required me to install more. When I got my 128 meg card I could play - but still verrry laggy. Maps took forever to load. It wasn't til I slapped in another gig of ram (now 1.25 gigs) - that my game really was worth playing - lag free and the maps load quickly.

OK - thanks for reading my offer in the spirit it was intended. As to the loss of focus:Perhaps I misunderstand how TAC normally operates. Based on my conversations with Gator I have always percieved TAC as a clan that doesn't really "compete" in the traditional sense. Meaning - while yes you participate n CAL and FAL - but I rarely ever heard much talk about clan trainings or serious competition. If that were the case - I would agree with that statement 100%. We see it internally with folks that play for both FA and DC teams - training schedule conflicts etc.We do hold trainings - twice a week - and we expect everyone to show up - where we heavily prepare strategies for upcoming matches. If you guys do the same - then my impression of TAC was wrong and I can see where doing that for 2 different clans would be overwhelming.

Desert Combat is Done
Does this mean I can't join <TAC> for JO? - I don't see DW going the JO route anytime soon...

Desert Combat is Done
We segregate our forum access by teams. The internal forums for the DC team is seperated from the internal forums for the FA team. The same applies to BFV and any other game that we may play in the future - so security wise we don't have those concerns. We do have an overriding internal forum that all DW members have access to - but we don't discuss strategy etc in there. But that's fine - I respect your policy even if I don't understand or necessarily agree with it. I don't like putting DW members in a position where they have to chose between us and the highway if they chose to play something else elsewhere - so I would hate if TAC members were placed in that position. I'll retract my offer for TAC DC members to play with us - if it could jeapordize their membership in the TAC clan for games they do play here.Again - it wasn't my intent to steal members. I was simply trying to offer an environment where DC enthusiasts can live out their interest in the game. You guys have some real talent in DC that I would hate to see go to waste. I would have never made that offer if <TAC> was active in DC themselves.

@ Claymore - ??? are you serious? We don't allow memberships in more than one clan PER GAME. Meaning - you can't play FIREARMS for us and someone else at the same time. Isn't that kinda harsh? I always thought the purpose of a clan is more GAME oriented - to play a GAME (or a couple of games) with others that share your interests in that GAME. You ever have a friend you can go drinking with? And another friend you go to the movies with? They're both things you enjoy and they don't always have to be with the same person. This is still about fun right? So basically what you're saying is - if a player likes a game that TAC doesn't offer, it's either suck it up or leave? I can't imagine that Gator would go for that.

Desert Combat is Done
I don't see why anyone would leave <TAC> for one game. We have plenty of guys that play FA or DC for us and play something else - like CS or DoD elsewhere. That's why I am offering those that want to play DC - to play with us - for just DC of course - IF <TAC> no longer offers it as a game.
-
Desert Combat is Done
If DC is no longer being provded at <TAC> - why not play with us? Our server is up and running and we're still quite active - waiting for BF2 to be released This is of course not an attempt to "steal" any members - but simply to offer an alternative if <TAC> is no longer an option. It would be a shame to see all that DC talent go to waste...

$1 000 000 000 - What would you do???
That was probably the smartest post in this thread so far Put the whole amount into secure government bonds - at 4 or 5 % interest. Let's say 3% to stay pessimistic - that's 3 MILLION dollars a year in interest. After taxes, that's somewhere between 1.5 - 2 MILLION (damn liberals) - that's a MONTHLY salary of about 125K to 166K - forever - you never use up your capital. You may laugh and say - "well if I were REALLY getting a billion dollars, I would do things differently" - when in reality that may not be true. There are a ton of broke lottery winners out there that squandered their winnings within a couple of years - making purchases just like they were joked about in here. Bought huge mansions with their money - only to find they cost about 25K per year in property taxes alone. So when the money was used up - they were sent packing...

Well - to Jason's point - this watch feature is a server side driven stream - based on the Metamod plugin. The 5 or 10 second delay is configured on the server. If tere is an admin that is handling a dispute, It should be easy to request the logs which list all of the CVAR settings etc. Of course they can be altered.... - but for really important matches like semi-finals r finals you would normally have a FAL admin with RCON monitoring theserver settings to ensure the lag setting is implemented during gameplay.

Check this out
Yea - I installed this on our site earlier this week as well: http://www.doomsdaywarriors.com/portal/modules.php?op=modload&name=MyMod&file=index&page=phpua Great tool. It even supports BF (also DC) and BFV - even though you don't get the live movement feature that the metamod plugin offers for HL. This tool is so great that it is turning into an ethical discussion among our team members. Some claim it could be considered a web version of wallhacking since you can see opponent movement. Think about players that have 2 pc's - one to play, the other to watch the movement. It's debateable - considering that the makers of the tool are the same that provide C-D

DESERT COMBAT PLAYERS ONLY
hey guys - no joke this time:the summer is here and we're sending people off on vacation. Trainings and everything will be kinda quiet for us for the next 3-4 weeks. If you guys want - join our server on Mondays and Wednesdays at 8:00 PM EST to train with us. It would be more fun than just goofing off on a public.69.93.89.130:14567:23000 DC BATTLEZONE 0.7 (USA)PM for the pw

TAC to host DC on Sundays and Mondays
Right before Gator left for FL, he and I talked about the eventuality of sharing resources between our teams. The idea was, that the <TAC> DC guys could play on our server (69.93.89.130:14567 DC BATTLEZONE 0.7 (USA)), and the DW guys that liked to play BFV could do so on yours. Whatever happened to that? I personally liked the idea.

Server down yet again!!
Whenever your DC server is down you guys are of course welcome to come play on ours - it's 24x7:69.93.89.130:14567:23000 DC BATTLEZONE 0.7 - (USA)If it happens to be empty, just stop by our irc channel #clandw on GameSurge - we're always around ready to join in...

Judgement Day Song
Awesome song! Did some research on it this morning. The group is Bionic Jive (www.bionicjive.net) - under "downloads" they have a flash piece that lets you listen to the entire album. All of their songs on it are pretty good. Thanks for sharing Finner

Tonight's scrim against -=[DW]=-
During warmup we were there in full force (15), hoping you guys would eventually show. But at "scrim" start we let a few drop off. I believe it was more 6-10 during actual gameplay - which is still way overpowering. What's frustrating for us is that we moved our reg Thursday training to Wednesday to accomodate you guys - as request by Gator. I'm sure it was great training for you guys - but our guys had a hard time enjoying their "victory" considering the odds.Kudos to you guys that did show up. You gave it your best shot. We had what we thought was a good strategy for that map and your tactics were able to poke holes and create some confusion here and there. Good job. I guess that's what training is all about

Unfortunately things didn't go so well. Only 6 <TAC> players showed up... (or was it 8?)

Judgement Day Song
I actually was able to extract he "cool part" out of that flick. With that I mean the piece with the music and the action scenes. If you guys want it, I can make it available for download.
