  1. Ok, now think about the logic of your first statement; boiled down to it's basics, you just said "It's ok to hurt lots of good people as long as it stops one bad one". Doesent sound reasonable now does it? It's the moral equivalent to nukeing an entire city block because a known murderer is hiding out there. The other problem is, who are you, or anyone for that matter, to tell someone else what they do or don't need to own? In this coutry, you are innocent until proven guilty. We are a self-governed society, we trust OURSELVES to choose our leaders, don't you think we can be trusted with weapons? It's simply a matter of point of view. Being free has a cost, there is no one to tell you what to do, or what to be, these are choices each individual has to make, and if you make bad choices, it's also your responsibility to face the consequences. If the tax and the production ban were lifted tommorow, people arent going to flock to stores to buy MAC-10s, because many people don't WANT a MAC-10, it's thier choice to make!To sum it all up...Bad people are going to do bad things, and you cannot stop them by passing laws that only good people follow. Whether it be fists, crowbar, pistol, or automatic, these are only the means bad people use to hurt others, to stop them, you have to go deeper into WHY they are doing these things, not HOW.Its not a matter of how many people are injured by firearms, or how dangerous they can be in the hands of a lunatic, those are simply statistics...it's a deeper moral issue, and legislation only avoids the problem.
  2. Yup! The ban only stopped the production of new magazines that hold over 10 rounds, as it would be very difficult to confiscate the ones already in existence from thier owners. The plan was, that since it's now a limited number of magazines over 10 rounds in existence, and no new ones could be made, they would eventually dry up through breakage and use. Because the supply is limited, prices for standard capacity magazines skyrocketed. Magazines that used to cost $5-$10 are now $20-$120. The AK magazines are some of the most plentiful, so there are still quite a few around and prices havent gone up too much. I paid $14.95 for each of mine. The North Hollywood shootout would have occured, no matter what laws or red tape are put into effect. A firearm can be converted to fire fully-automatic by anyone skilled enough in a machine shop. You can never stop criminal behaviour of this magnitude by legislation alone.I agree, little Bobby should not be able to run down to Wal-Mart on his 18th birthday and pick up a shiny new M-16A1. I agree with a good portion of the law regarding fully automatic weapons. The parts I do have major problems with are the manditory $200 tax, and the ban on thier new production for civillian purchase. The $200 tax limits otherwise honest and good people from owning something they want, a violation of thier constitutional rights, and the ban on the new production of fully automatic weapons (except for law enforcement) is just silly.
  3. I would get the Mini-Uzi, lot's of people have M11s, the Uzi is more interesting. An HK-91 huh? I got a CETME/G3 not long ago myself. Very fun guns, they sure do chew that brass up though. Much lighter recoil than I expected as well.
  4. Irresponsible people being irresponsible...it will never go away, despite what laws are passed. Idiots being themselves is the cost of a free society, where personal responsibility exists and there are consequences for your actions.Besides, the AW ban didn't actually ban any guns, just features of those guns, like bayonets. When was the last drive-by bayonetting you heard about?Really, I don't think your evil for your opinions, simply mis/uninformed.Heres a link for ya! http://www.flashbunny.org/content/assaultweapons.html
  5. I love my KOBRA sight, one of the best purchases I've ever made. You can't find .410 in your area? Thats kinda weird...it pretty common.Saigas huh? You know what, I'd save my money, and when the AW ban sunsets in 2004, convert the shotgun to standard AK configuration.
  6. I built it to look like the ones used by Russian OMON. The "dot sight" is actually a KOBRA Fast Acquisition Active Electronic Collimator Sight. It was imported from Russia, and is actual issue.I'm considering getting into 3-gun competition, and this type of sight allows accurate aiming with both eyes open, it's more visible than iron sights, and allows quicker engadement as you don't have to line irons up.Magnification 1x Number of reticule patterns 4 Red Dot size 1.8 MOA Brightness adjustment 16 positions Battery type CR 2325 Battery life 70 hours Operating temperature - 40° F...+122° F Weight 14.5 oz max http://tantal.kalashnikov.guns.ru/kobra1.htmlThe gun itself is built on a SAR-1 reciever. Currently the only original parts are the barrel, trunnion, and sights. Everything else is new and reworked.

Okibi means Blazing fire.Hiryuu means flying dragon.So...the rough translation of Okibi Hiryuu is flying fire dragon. Why that name? Because I like anime, and I like Dragons. I played Dungeons and Dragons with some friends...my character was a Dragon....it seemed to be a good combination.Well...that and I'm a pyromaniac...

  13. For assault? As much armor as possible, bandages, and a Bizon. Your assaulting, more ammo capacity = win!If your silly and don't like the Bizon, then use the Ak-47 with nonclamature. It's full-auto fire is good enough for close up work, and it's dead on in single fire at longer ranges.

  18. You can find Ak-47s and Ak-74s all over the place. Gunshows usually have a pretty good number of them, it's where I got my Ak-47.I would avoid the Ak-74 if you are new to Kalashnikov type rifles. The 5.45x39mm is a pretty hard to find round in the US, and when you do find some, it's a bit more expensive (than 7.62 anyway). They do make Ak-74s in 5.56x45mm (.223), which means ammo wont be a problem, but finding magazines will. The magazines for the .223 versions are more expensive and harder to find. So, if your new, I'd go with the Ak-47. Ammo can be found for under $2 a box of 20, and magazines are usually under $15.Now your only problem is choosing which type of Ak-47 to get! I have a SAR-1, which are probably the least expensive. However, some of them do have problems, so I can't recommend it to you, unless you plan on doing some tinkering.I'd get a MAK-90, it's a chinese made Ak-47. They are well made, the only drawback being the thumbhole stock.Any of the Bulgarian Aks are good choices as well, but they are going to cost you a bit more.
