Are you buying Battlefield 1?

Featured Replies

As I'm sure most of you have had the opportunity to play Battlefield 1 Beta, I'm curious of everyone's thoughts of the game.My biggest concern before I played it was the game would have the Battlefront run and gun feeling. I'm happy to report Battlefield 1 in my opinion feels like battlefield and I will be preordering it. Anyone else have other thoughts?

BF1 seems promising. A lot of glitch in the beta tho. Awesome graphics and sound effects. Gameplay similar to BF4. I am waiting for the confirmation of an hardcore mode. if not.... I won't buy it.... If yes, for sure I will
Honestly don't know if I'm going to get the game. Armored vehicles seem unbalanced af.

You need teamplay for that. 2 assault guy and the tank is finished.

Battlefield 1 is the future of the Battlefield franchise.   The games are being designed primarily for the consoles (PS4 XBOX1), so get used to it.  If you think you are going to stay playing BF4, you better think long and hard about that.  Battlefield 1 will be taking a good 75% of the Battlefield community with it, so server population will be low; hence, the possible end of the Armory server as we know it today.  Don't get me wrong, we will still support a  BF4 server after the Battlefield 1 launches, but who will populate it?   Just some food for thought...

As far as BF1 goes, well, I liked it at first, then I didn't like it.  Now I am warming up to it again after spending some time playing it, and look forward to playing the game when it is released.  This is not "Hardline" folks, but the next "true" installment of Battlefield.  I've owned every Battlefield game since it first released Battlefield 1942 some 14 years ago, and have remained a true fan ever since.  I have enjoyed playing Battlefield 1 with everyone over the past few days, making the game enjoyable to me.  Well, most of everyone.

Battlefield 4 was the best Battlefield game ever made to date, but it's three years old now and getting a tad bit stale for me.   I now believe Battlefield 1 will have server rentals, and a hardcore mode, but no matter if they do or don't, I look forward to something new and adventurous.  For those of you on the edge about buying it, I would recommend you play the shit out of the Beta, and then formulate your opinion.   I was thinking about getting COD: Infinite Warfare, but after seeing the latest video of the game, I might not so sure now.  Still on the fence...

Well, most of everyone.

Cough cough

I will not let anyone influence my decision about Battlefield 1, I am getting it, Gator stated the reason why in his post "Battlefield 4 has gotten stale for me too" and I have played the BF Franchise since its inception

Everyone is entitled to their opinions, I believe this game has great potential. The only way I would play the new CoD is if the remaster knocks my socks off!

I'm just saying why I don't know if I'll get the game.  I too wont be playing BF4 much longer, but there are a lot of games out to play. I probably will get it once it comes out and I see some videos on the game.

I also don't like walking/ running and getting stuck on a rock or bush, sometimes even sand.

I'll get it if a certain special few get it. Though, I'm so bogged down with games at the moment . . . its ridiculous.

Also, I should d/l the beta while its active. I've been feeling that lazy feeling you get when you're too busy with extra shit. Fuck it, yeah thats the feels.

Yes try it with us :D

Well I can't change my vote, I originally voted undecided but I just bought the game this morning. I hopped on for the first time yesterday and saw all my friends in the same server which by itself is very important to me. The game itself just felt natural like other Battlefield games and was easy to pick up and play. All the control customizations I wanted seem to be there. I have this weird control customization that I really need or else I'm screwed where I have to use the mouse wheel to select between my primary weapon and toggle zoom and I was actually able to configure that. The fact that I could customize my controls like that means a lot and I wish more developers would allow customization like this. I joined up in Gator's squad and just had a blast. I was surprised how polished the game looked and felt. Maybe it the same game engine as BF4 but I am glad to say the game feels very polished for a beta and while it does have bugs, it isn't as bad as betas of the past. I'm very glad they didn't simplify the game as much as they did with Battlefront. Battlefield 1 seems to be a complex shooter and the skill level requirements set a high bar. I pre-ordered the game this morning using Amazon Prime and received the 20% discount for $47.99. Seems like a fair price.

Pros: Great control customization, Great graphics, great setting and environment, complex gameplay.

Cons: Can't rent our own servers, no hardcore mode (yet), still no female characters or skins

I tried joining on a server via matchmaking and the server browser for about an hour tonight with no luck on connecting. The only time it did connect was on an empty server and whether I was in a party or not didn't matter. Google research said to mess with the PROFSAVE and or my router settings . . . I tried but still no change in joining a server. So, we'll see if I get to play or not.

Next time I see you on TS we can try together. It's fairly complicated for newbies to join game servers.

I've been there done that. Maybe I can help.

IDK what stores you have in Canada.

No stores here, except Best Buy and they didn't even have it. I have to buy all computer parts online unfortunately
