I've briefly looked at it before. One of the game add-ons I use for Elite Dangerous also has add-ons for this game as well. hcs voice packs which are voice add-ons for use with voice attack to control your ship are available for star citizen. Nothing like having the john Delancy bitching about your landing skills or insulting you as you fly around :) I may take a better look as it seems to be a mash of first-person shooter and space flight sim.

Thanks for sharing Gator

ok watched the video, and was intrigued till I hit the website and saw pricing. Not so concerned about the 45 bucks to get a game package but was concerned when I was seeing ships costing 125 bucks and up.

Not sure, Tom. I want to find out more about the pricing. Like, can we buy those ships using in-game currency for mining missions, for example. I don't mind $45, but I will not pay crazy money like $300+...lol :)

ok found this in a reddit forum. also found a bunch of folks discussing money for ships. currently looks like the Kraken is a pledge and will be 14000 usd. Thats a lot for a game! Its does seem from some items Ive read large orgs in game will be able to get large ships by using money made in game through missions and mining and such, below is from a reddit forum post

ou buy it now you have a few options: Star Citizen only ($45), Squadron 42 only ($45), or the Star Citizen + Squadron 42 bundle ($65). If you didn't already know, Squadron 42 is the single player story portion, and Star Citizen is the Persistent Universe portion. I personally recommend the bundle as you get both with a $20 discount from buying them separately.

If you buy any of those packages today you get immediate Alpha access and when the final game launches you will also have access to that.

As for the ships, currently they are offered as pledges for any variety of real money prices. These are for people who want to support the game and secure that particular ship for themselves in the process. Later in development, all ships will be available in game whether through purchase with UEC or in the case of certain ships, find them in the wild and claim them.

Also, here is a road-map for things to come. For example, they are going to add VOIP to the game for the first time in the next patch, 3.3, which is supposed to released in the begining of Q4 2018, which is upon us now.

The Roberts Space Industries Star Citizen and Squadron 42 roadmaps.

Also, I think I will get the single player, Squadron 42, as well.

Lastly, give this video a watch ...very interesting

All of the ship packages are to "support game development" but all ships will be available in game for game money if/when the game fully releases.

I think you can try it out without buying anything, but if you plan to get into it I would recommend not getting any more than the base game/ship package until it gets closer to being released.

Larry is that package available to go and fly right now?

To my knowledge it is. Here is a list of the other packages

They have changed the packages since I bought mine. I have the anniversary Aurora LX package with Star Citizen and Squadron 42. I think the best option is to get the cheapest package that either includes the standalone campaign, or get that as an add-on.

The Mustang Alpha Star Citizen + Squadron 42 or the Aurora MR packages for $65 gives you everything you need to get into the game. (I would recommend the Mustang over the Aurora, but it really doesn't matter at this point. Either one is a starter ship and you will want to upgrade as soon as you can using in game money)

They also have "free flight" times where you can try out other flyable ships without buying them.

nice I may pull the trigger tomorrow. Gator not sure how well it workd for star citezen but Voice attack has been awesome with Elite Damgerous especially with the HCS voicepack. I'm sure I'll grab a new voice pack to start with star citezen

Awesome! I also made a forum on the website for future sharing of information related to the game. :geek:

I've been waiting for this game for years, literally years. This game was announced many years ago. It was originally billed as an alternative to Star Wars Galaxies. Since then, it appears the graphics have changed enormously. The graphics when this game were first announced looked very similar to the old time Star Wars Galaxies. Now, it appears much more modern. If I had to guess, this game has been in development for at least seven years, if not longer. I am not so sure that is real 'gameplay' in this video however. It looks more to me like a rendered demo. I hope it's not.
