after playing today i must say this is by far my favorite game out of the BF:V series. the aircraft is just awesome and the weapons own so much. all of the vehicles are fun to just ride in and the hummer is the best for flying through everything and then running a few "innocent civilians" over :twisted: i am definately going to be playing a lot of this mod because it is so fun. although this is just the first beta of this mod it demonstrates the future potential of this mod and how fun/great it will be.

I'm with you god-cow. Tonight was a blast (I got run over a few times to LOL). It has a good mix of DC and BFV.

Statie remember when you asked why it took 4 or five shots to kill a tank i know why.

 

In POE you have to change the type of ammo (IE Sabot for tanks and APC's, HESH/HEP for light trucks and troops.)

 

I've killed a T-90 with a single round to the block with a M1A2 Sabot Round.

 

It takes almost 3 or 4 HESH to kill a tank.

Ooh, if it's that detailed, I might even give the lame BF engine another try :wink: A shame about the helicopters being so unbalanced, but again, that's how battlefield works.

BFV is much more balanced now, and in POE the choppers go down like nothing. I think the BF engine is the greatest, and I am really looking forward to BF2. :mrgreen:

the choppers are MUCH MORE HARDER TO WHORE! the big guns take them down with ease and the flying is a little more sluggish than BF:V. this is only the beta and i liked all of the guns and how they worked. THIS IS NOT BF:V, so don't make any hurried decisions before trying it out.

If I could fly helicopters, I'd probably love it too. -_- Unfortunately, I can't, so I stick with tanks (easily smashed by helicopters/jets) or hoofing it. I usually end up on foot more often than anything else, and let's face it, while this is a great vehicle based first person game, it's a poor "infantry" game.

The maps I have played so far rely mostly on vehicles. These wide open maps make the infantry quite useless, even when armed with an anti-tank weapon - which only has a very limited range. The lack of anti-air infantry weaponry make the infantry even more useless, since helicopters can easily find you in any terrain. In my opinion, they need to make more infantry suited maps with less vehicles and helicopters...or just make the infantry better.

i dont care what ammo an abrahms is using, a umvee should die in one hit

Sure they take them a lot, but if I wanted to fly once, I'm positive I would have no problem getting one.

Up arrow is Sabot. Down arrow is HEAP. There are portable stingers. This is only the first release and I think it showed great potentional. Everyone who gave bad reviews, you may use your purging source tracker now.EDIT: Oh and Saggi, They take them because they're good in them. You take them and don't shoot anything ever, and then take them again and again until someone ends your streak of wastefulnessmenship'd (Thanks UH)

It's about on par with DC. Infantry was mostly useless there against air/vehicles except in the case of the stinger missile. I'm really surprised they didn't give any man-portable anti-air.

 

It would be good to have a map like Inshallah Valley where the fighting is more contained.

There were plenty of infantry situations in DC.
