September 25, 200421 yr Makes perfect sense to me. To truely become a clan again' date=' drop FA [i']now[/i] and go with POE. Rip the band-aid off. When the sting wears off, you'll have a decent squad to transition to BF2. Make the intent perfectly clear, and I think you'll convert a large number of the FA players off the bat. You'll retain most of the JO team to play POE. They will probably join/form another clan for JO at the same time, but that's OK. You'll probably even get some of the DC players back. No. NO. The TAC server is such a huge part of FA... I'd really, REALLY miss it, and I know lots of other players would too. If you dropped FA, I wouldn't be visiting this page, or these forums nearly as much as I do. I doubt you'd convert alot of the FA players, though. They'd find another clan or freelance, because they really, really love this game. FA is what got this clan started, and it'd be a huge part of this clan to let go just like that.
September 25, 200421 yr One thing I wanted to add (to my original post but forgot) was the whole mod issue.Since these new games (HL2 or any BF series) offer so much more detail (in graphics and other things) making a mod for these games becomes a much bigger task. Which only few will manage to bring to an end. It start with all the graphic assets up to the coding, there is a lot of work that needs to be done :DJust look back at history, the team sizes that used to do mods (for QuakeII or HL) most of them are around 10 people. I don't think that amount of people will ever be able to do a mod for these new games. Not because I think the lack skill, but because the task is so much bigger.I work in the Game Industry and it usually takes 2-4+ years to make a game and a lot of money :PTeams range from 20 people to up to 200+ people, and don't forget they all work on it 5days a week 8hours a day (plus endless overtime ) so looking at these number you must admit that there will very likely be less and less mods for these newer games. Just look at how many mods are out (done not just work in progress) for recent FPS games like UT2004, Doom3, BF:V, FarCry (not sure you can mod that one?!)So I'm a bit skeptical when people go "yeah there will be tons of cool mods for that new game XYZ" but then again, maybe I'm wrong [DIAL]Doc
September 25, 200421 yr What you mean no it doesnt? This thread is the pinicle of what is to come in the world, It is being monitered by Numerous American. Government agencies, and what is posted here about the server being shut down will determine what country is invaded next...

Thats what I would do anyway. Does Battlefront have a demo? I might try it.
September 26, 200421 yr From looking at GameSpot's video review, it seems it's just BF with a Star Wars theme. That's not enough for me to purchase it, I think, since I already have BF. If they had light sabers...then it would offer something that BF didn't, unless they used it like a knife. *yik*
September 26, 200421 yr The first FA server i ever played on was [TA] The Armory. At that time, 2.65, <TAC> had alot of members i got on well with e.g. Lilly (Now NsD btw ), Klif, that Sheep Guy and Kywalker but now <TAC> has alot of lamers in the clan, sad but true, which isnt to say they dont have alot of fun guys still coz they do, Sam.Gen, Punisher, Psy4, BTD and especially Sharpshooter6 coz he is damn hawt and seksy <3 FA is dieing and i dont think anyone would begrudge you the chance to make a permanent move to the BF series. <3 Wells Well, either way we go, I will most likely follow. The commradery is what makes this clan great and I'm sure we will move on to a suitable game. I have to agree with Doc in his post. FA has a unique and fun style of gameplay that has yet to be duplicated, from what I have seen atleast.
September 27, 200421 yr I think what we should do when FA finally packs it in is have a vote among all the clan members, then remain a "Gaming Community", but aim more at what the majority of the clan is interested in. It really doesn't matter if half the clan leaves, so long as we have strong and willing leadership others will join. Remember how this clan was started, with just a few good-hearted guys playing on a server.Personally, I've thought about leaving as well, mostly because I'm finding less and less time to play, FA has become pretty boring, BF:1942 doesn't work on my comp, I'm finding other things in life that are more interesting, and I'm getting rid of my learners license in a month and a bit. But, I'll wait and see.
September 27, 200421 yr lol, we'll probably be playing it 10 years from now on a steam/windows XP emulatior...
September 27, 200421 yr Life goes on, with or without FA or any other game.. And the future will bring some great games.. (My dream is a game like the holodeck on the enterprise...)

September 29, 200421 yr Here is the definition of a clan as stated by one of the many online dictionaries: 'In computer gaming, a clan is a group of players who regularly play together at a particular multiplayer game, generally as a team. Clans also act as social groups, with players often meeting up both on and offline.' I hope everything turns out ok for TAC, and the short amount of gameplay I've had with them has been great. If your goal is to become a FA/BF2 clan, then you are on the right track; I understand that FA is appealing since it functions on older hardware well, and BF2 is for those in the clan who do not want to play FA and have the computer power to do so. If this is the case, then I would suggest not even considering adopting any other games than these two. All I can say is good luck and hope for the best. This says it all for me. Long live FA! And Gator...thank you for all your work to make this happen!
