Should The Armory become BF2 Fulltime?

well....i know FA is getting old...but i say we keep our server up until at least we are one of the last 5 remaining. alot of people in FA agree that The Armory is one of the best servers there is. i do like BF2, but i like FA better. the only reason i play BF2 so much is for 2 reasons... 1). i love stats =D. 2). its fun when playing with TAC members. well...thats all i have to say for now.

 

EDIT: also, maybe you should include an option that says "Shut down the FA server when its one of the very last out there". because thats what i would vote for. but thats just me :/.

I would vote yes but it seems like there are still people who cant play it yet (or is it just me :peace: ) Either way in three months my vote changes to a yes :flame:

I cant play BF2. I dont play BF2.

I can play FA. I dont play FA from different reasons (out of time is one of them).

Small communities are not bad (vide TS for example).

What about nixing FA but keeping CSS? I've never played FA but for the most part FPS's are the same (in principle at least).

 

I have a feeling that CSS would pull a lot more players since it is still relatively new. Maybe this would be a comparable option.

im not a real big BF2 fan, considering I cant play it, but I think it is good for the clan to play BF2. It really teaches you to work as a team (I know this from what little of it I played)

1. I'm not a member of TAC, Iso it can only be my 'personal' opinion- regardless of the TAC SC decisions, money spent on both servers, personal feelings of SC (they pay for their play) etc.

 

2. I liked FA and I like BF2. I could play FA with high ping on your server with good results, I don't know if I could do the same (play BF2) without major system/ hardware/ internet connection upgrade(-s) (BF2 is running smoothly on euro servers for me).

 

so my opinion is:

 

If you notice that during usual rush hours of gaming the FA server is empty/ not full/ half-full (it's up to your decision which option should be chosen), you can close it. If you notice that your members moved to play other games, you can close it.

 

There are other options as: some part of your clanmates/ associates will still pay for the FA server; because most 'elite' players had left FA, the game would become interesting again etc. The last option shouldn't last long though- the HL engine became slightly out-dated comparing to new games.

Same here not being a member of TAC (even though often asked to join ) I leave it up to you guys to find out what game you wanna play. I do like both games, they both have a different feel to them and that's what make them both fun :flame:

 

And I apreciate all the hard work TAC has put into keeping the FA server running for soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo long :peace:

 

And who is to say there might not be some FA nights in the future, just for old times sake. No need to have a 24/7 server for that

personaly i see more ppl on the fa server then i ever do on our css server.

I cant play bf2 because it locks up evry 2 seconds even tho i get 140 fps in css. I voted to keep it up because its the only server with a rotation of fa maps.

I like BF2 don't get me wrong. Keeping the other servers I believe is a good thing though because of the people they bring to our site. After taking a look at the poll I notice you might want to put an option in there about CSS. If we become BF2 full-time that would also suggest shutting down that server as well.

 

As for my vote I like the armory clan, and I really don't care what game we all play. As long as it is within reason.

Somebody, a very wise man, above mentioned the different style of gameplay between FA and BFII. Most of the time I like to just jump into FA and play without thinking. I can play for 10 minutes or 10 hours without a problem. In BFII you don't get much outta playing for 10 minutes and you like to finish the round at least. Some people don't have the time or are able to devote their full attention to the game for the whole round.

This is why I say keep FA around as long as it isn't putting an overload on the budget then I say we can lose it. The FA community makes me very annoyed at times but then you will find that in BF II also to an extent. I like <TAC> and of course will still be here if FA isn't. I don't want to keep it for nostalgia sake I genuinely still enjoy the game.

since FA and css are on the same server, if one went down the other would too, since both can be run without hindering the others capabilities, so its not harware issues, but the direction of the clan

bf2 is the new fa. there won't be any new or if so, then any populated leagues for FA now, so there's no point in playing as a clan.

well i think getting a ranked bf2 server would rule,i would play alot more as well.it's not always a easy thing to get find a decent server to fast.but i vote for what ever the clan as a whole thinks is best.i personally still love f-a but rarely ever play it anymore.i never did like css so i could care less if we get rid of that.

If TA shuts down their server, FA will be dead. TA was the *only* server bringing in new people; and even then...not so much lately. The other major servers have already shut down/are currently shutting down/shutting down very soon. PoP's server runs out at the end of the month; couple other servers are dying fairly soon, too. No point in continuing to run 32 FA servers when you've got maybe 60 people in the community left.

Correct, as long as TA stays around, Fa will be alive. But that's a Terri Schivo kind of alive (sorry, no offense).

I officially thought of FA as dead when the website/forums went away. Now it has no backing, and it only exists on other people's computers.

Bf2 is obviously, where most gaming clans are heading for, and we should do the same. Who here hasn't enjoyed Bf2? I don't think anyone can say that Bf2 is a bad game (bugs and comp issues aside)

Although I'm not in the clan anymore, this is one of the main reasons I left, TA clung too much to the past and wasn't with the here and now.

Hopefully, a logical decision can be made shortly
