Map Exploit Defined: When a player intentionally maneuvers himself/herself to a location on a map where an opponent does not have a resonable chance of retaliating.

 

Senior ranking Admin "on-duty" will be the deciding factor in each case. Once the decision is made, players must follow the Admins final decision.

 

Any whiners after that point will be ask to leave.

Good definition, but there still can be some trouble. First of all admins dont happen to be on server all the time. And even if they are, there still can be misunderstandements. Some admins might permit some exploits, some may not. That way players either get very mad for they dont know what they can and cannot do, or they quickly catch individual admin style and act accordingly. Not the best way to draw a straight policy of the saerver. Im not saying that finding a universal rule is easy. Well, we shall see how it turns out. Best of luck (Gambatte-ne).

well norm he means that very easly a situation could come where a player would..lets say use the red tank gun on rubble to fire into the blue spawn, and the current admin at the time would say "thats allowed". then...few days later the same player (on rubble) uses the red tank gun once again to fire into the blue spawn and ANOTHER admin tells him that isn't alowed. hence the confustion.but i think gator will know to get all of the admins together for a little pow-wow and disscuse what would be allowed and what would not be. that is if all of the admins dont already know. also, to all TA members, if someone in the server starts to cry about another player exploiting just say "thats the admins call" and if theres no admin present, and they cry more, then do what i do...tell them "sorry about your luck" end of problem

Day1. player uses exploit on map. Admin says OK

Day#. player uses same exploit, same map. Another admin says NOTOK.

If an admin is quick with keyboard, ban is immediate. If not, player either learns under which admin he can do that and under which not, or he complains that admins are not united in their aproach to the problem of exploiting.

This is the danger i see in such a rule.

I dont know if i should laugh or just roll my eyes. As for ending with bullet in my head, i dont care. Im not as concerned with having high K:D ratio as you are. What i am looking in game is fun, not highest scores.

I have a solution to this problem just don't allow anything of the sort at all. Iv heard from sevral TA members say there to and none TA members say they are allowed no names (DOL)...

I love it...that is exactly what I have been trying to say all along. There is no way to regulate something that is not defined to begin with. When people talk "map exploits" it always seems to be the hills on Golan (give me break). How can you define and regulate something that could be interpreted 1000 different ways? They have to do better than that.

 

As you know, there are more than a hundred different FA maps out there...each of them very unique. My policy stated above was intended to give admins some leeway while performing there Admin duties. The Admins want to have fun also, not police each and every infraction a player makes. The "map exploit" issue is a prime example of an unmanageable situation. Server Admins can't effectively monitor and control something when there is absolutely no clear or definitive resource to reference from.

 

The problem here is that people forget that it is just a damn game, and players need to realize just that. The same people who complain about the "map exploits" seem to complain about everything else. Just go play the game...be nice to others...stop the whining, and just simply have a good time. It's just as simple as that

Norm these are all people who have been a part of this clan and server for a long time i think you should rethink your position(not about exploit) but with three of the several people who made this server and clan what it is todaythey are all people i respect, abd you just seem to not hear or listen to what they have to say and thats just rude.

Well, not long ago there was only 1 rule of exploting. "Dont use parachute exploit. Dont levitate."I think that was simplier and it implied that the rest was allowed. If you find somehitng that is worth banning, it should be added to the list. It will be much shorter and i think it wont create misunderstandements. And if somebody is complaining, tell him to read ruels, then use standard warn/kick/ban (or just ban :wink: ). If the player has a problem, he can go to forums/pm/mail.But i am still waiting for an asnwer what will happen if there are no admins present? Who will be an 'admin on duty' then ?
