Hey Gator, I tried using the button and it says that the link is expired or invalid. I tried manually typing it into discord as well and got the same result.

Glad to See The Armory is Alive and Well
Hi Everyone, As some of you may have noticed I've been lurking around lately. Been on vacation this week before the real work starts when I get back. For those who don't know I'm an IT Specialist II which is fancy for help desk/systems analyst. My company is smaller so I wear many hats. I work on analyzing, improving, decommissioning, and integrating systems along with typical help desk stuff. It's a pretty fun job and beats retail any day. How has everyone been? I'm glad to see a lot of the old timers are still here. Also glad ya'll switched to discord (wouldn't mind an invite ) Teamspeak was great but discord is mostly free and the codecs are fairly decent. I've been mainly playing a lot of fantasy MMOs lately mainly Black Desert Online which I've been playing for the last 4 years. In a way I'm kind of burnt out from them. I'm looking forward to the next Battlefield game as I kind of want to get back into shooters. What game is everyone into nowadays? I see Elite Dangerous is pretty popular with ya'll at the moment. I did some research on it and it looks pretty interesting. I'll be around so glad that this community is still together

Couple Builds Shipping Container Home with no Experience
Interesting shows you can make anything if you put your mind to it. There is this guy here in NY that built his business out of shipping containers.

Long Time No See!
I tried out Call of Duty Modern Warfare it was pretty fun when it worked now for some reason their last patch broke it good. As for Star Citizen it's a game I followed for a bit but at the time didn't think it was worth it due to its progress. As for Battlefield I haven't tried any of the new ones I wasn't impressed with them. Still waiting for my 2142 remake doubt that will ever happen. I've been mostly playing single player games Witcher 3, Civ V @Decaff , and a game called Black Desert Online it's one of them MMO sissy games you used to joke about @Gator. I'm starting to get tired of it so I might just stop by in Teamspeak and maybe play a real game for once lol. I'm glad to see a good deal of the old group is still together man did we have some fun then. Still remember the day when @GIJOE would get upset in BF2 SF when I would blow his chopper out of the sky with my tank. Yes, I'm finally rid from that Walmart except for grocery shopping I've been in this job for a year and a half now. Unfortunately, it doesn't offer much of a challenge anymore I've learned all that I can time to move up.

Long Time No See!
Hey Guys, Hope everyone is safe and doing well. It's been rough here in NY with the coronavirus been working from home for the last month now. Just wanted to check in see how everyone is doing. What games is everyone playing these days? @Gator the new site is looking sharp.

Just Checking In
Hi everyone, Hope ya'll have been doing great. Things finally turned around for me I don't work for Walmart anymore. I finally made it into IT after 15 years of hell with Walmart. The corporate life is where it's at. They actually respect you here and they treat everyone extremely well. Now, I quite literally get to sit on my ass all day lulz. I'm almost done with school got about another 6 classes to go. I'm aiming for next summer to graduate considering funds hold out. Hope ya'll been having a good time I'll cya around

Be safe to everyone in FL and GA
We didn't get anything up here in NY of course but my friends in the southern states have been texting me pictures of the damage and the amount of storm surge that went into their home. I'm just glad that everyone is safe they all left when the were told to evacuate.

Be safe to everyone in FL and GA
To all my friends in the Florida and Georgia regions please stay safe as hurricane Irma bears down on you.

Intel Claims Its Magical New Memory Will Speed Your Computer Up for Cheap
I saw a video about this its a pretty neat idea its like having an extra large cache for frequently used programs and helps improve boot times for slower HDDs. I have an M.2 NVMe drive so I won't be needing this. The advantage with this is that they are going to be cheap but add quite a bit a performance for HDD based systems.

Need help im at my wits end
It's a good possibility it might be if you have a phone try connecting to the net as well and see if you get the same results. It can also be the router too and if its their equipment I wouldn't be surprised.

My new SSD Samsung M.2 960 EVO 1TB
Here are my results from magician its working pretty good each bench mark gives different results I personally like ATTO. Try running ATTO and see what results you get. I like ATTO because it tests all aspects and you can see where your drive shines. If your overall speed is low then there could be something wrong. Remember those are burst speeds and not too many programs except bench marks are going to take advantage of it. Plus don't bench mark it too much don't wanna kill it. Make sure your drivers are up to date and your firmware as well. Also depends on the motherboard too. There is just so many factors that affect these drives because they use the x4 bandwidth.

Everything loads fast pretty much most my games its less than 10 sec in any loading screen.

If wireless failed as well it could be your router or your ISP blocking ports for gaming. Unfortunately some ISPs will do that.

Yeah you can now with the NVMe tech built into the new motherboards as soon as I can get a break from all this school work I'm gonna install it. Web design its pretty simple but so complex these assignments.

My new SSD Samsung M.2 960 EVO 1TB
Instant windows boot anyone  I got this to replace my aging SSD and since my new board is NVMe compatible I figured why not. A read of 3.2 GB/s its gonna be so fast  Can't wait for it to get here. https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820147595&ignorebbr=1&nm_mc=KNC-GoogleAdwords-PC&cm_mmc=KNC-GoogleAdwords-PC-_-pla-_-Solid+State+Disk-_-N82E16820147595&gclid=CjwKEAiAwfzDBRCRmJe7z_7h8yQSJAC4corOg42hzF-eqISFo3IlsZQECwBEhewxWj1AMljE-ngTMBoC8Tbw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds

BF4 Server.
I actually tried to play the other night but I'm missing so many expansion packs though I thought with premium I didn't have to buy them because that's why I bought premium when it first released. NVM had to dive a bit deeper into my account maybe I'll play with ya guys some in the coming days.

Lets Talk Processors
You're gonna need a new MB in order to support that chip. Its gotta be an 1151 socket and you have to use a Z170 chipset. If you're going to replace motherboard and chip then I say go for it but if you wanna be future proof for a bit look into 6 cores or greater. The 6700k only has 16 PCIe lanes which will be used mostly by the gfx. However if anything else uses PCIe in any way it will use some of those lanes causing the card to drop to 8x instead of 16x. While this really isn't a problem unless your going SLI in the future you want to build a PC with headroom. Having more than what is needed at the time allows the system to accommodate more demand if it occurs. I recently retired an old 980X I had for 6 years didn't need that much power at the time but it came in handy when games started demanding more from the CPU. These new cards from NVidia are quite demanding and you need a beefy system to run them to their fullest. I rebuilt most of my system recently to a 6900k the new one with 8 cores 64GB of RAM and an X99 motherboard. Granted I'm still using a 960 GTX 4GB of VRAM but I had this card in my old system and I got a flat 30 fps across all titles because the board and cpu were bottle necking it. Stick with i7 if you can and look into Broadwell-E architecture if you can. 6 cores or more will give you some future proofing. I know you said you like Intel and most gamers do maybe give it a bit and see what AMD comes out with. Then see how Intel reacts with their pricing to combat AMDs new flagship. Also Intel's new architecture is debuting soon so that would mean a price drop across the board as well. In summary wait for a bit and see what pricing does and what new tech comes then make your decision. If you need it now look for Broadwell-E if you can.

HDD speeds
NET Framework can usually be related to the program that you are using but and seeing the exception window that seems more like someone didn't tidy up their coding and when you tried to do something it just went wtf. Sometimes it can be memory related especially if it happens more frequently but it just looks like a hole in the code because the way it was coded it also accessed something that was protected. When coding in school NET Framework is kind of like the system that drives the program and how Windows uses most of its exception handling. If these errors continue to pop up then you could have bad memory or maybe even a bad hard drive because the pagefile is just like memory its the overflow for when your memory gets used up. The way memory addressing works you would technically never have enough RAM so Windows always has a pagefile for more system related processes. More memory is still always better but if this exception type stuff continues to pop up it could memory or primary hdd issues. Have you ran ms chkdsk lately to see if you have any bad file blocks. Go into cmd run as admin type in chkdsk let it run and see what it says if you have file structure and linkage issues the hdd is pretty much gone mine gave a ton of linkage errors before it went.

Are you getting any other random errors with other programs or maybe even virtual memory errors before my old hdd went it started giving me pagefile and virtual memory errors. At this point in time now that it just started happening I would suspect the HDD and its near the end of its life at about 5 years which is a good time for any hdd. Start scoping out SSDs and let me know that voltage for your overclock for an extra 800MHz you shouldn't have had to dump too much into it. If you are unsure the voltage is correct run prime95 for at least a few hours to check system stability. But here is something try running it without the overclock and see if you still get the issue if you do then you can easily say its the HDD or some other hardware if no issue then you know its your overclock. When you overclock your CPU it is expecting quicker input from the other devices on the board. When I overclocked my 980X to 4.4GHz I did it through the baseclock which translated to everything else going up in clock. You can oc through the turbo on these newer chips but your CPU will still be limited by the slowest component on the board. Though with these newer chips I don't recommend baseclock ocing because the amount of voltage required to do so is a lot higher than a turbo oc.

HDD speeds
While the hard drive might seem like the problem it really shouldn't affect BF4 as much as it would say like an MMO that is constantly pulling from the drive. BF4 is mainly server driven with PB really being the only thing that runs in the background. It would help overall system performance to get an SSD but I don't think it is really necessary unless that drive is showing signs of failure. Random lag and stutters can be associated with the video card and if you're using an Nvidia card they have had issues with random stuttering and FPS lag in the past. Yes, everything is going to SSD and the cost has been reduced dramatically. It wouldn't hurt to really get one and if you have the money for it I say go for it but if you don't save for it and by then they will probably be cheaper Took a gander at your PC specs in your profile and the dual 660s might be a bit subpar to run a game like BF4 and SLI has been known to cause a lot of stuttering in the past. Is this a problem that has just started occurring or have you always had it? The random stuttering and dropping in FPS then jumping back up is usually video related maybe try playing with gfx settings to see if you get more stability. If this is a problem that has just started then I would suspect the HDD maybe on its way out and back up what you have and get a new drive but does this just happen with BF4 or other games. Someone also said if you are on WiFi that would cause it too if you aren't hard line try that too. Though at this point in time I'm suspecting something video related.
