  1. I want mine to be able to kick alls yalls butts with the least amount of effort and skill required by me!!
  2. I never even got half the upgrades from 2142! Wahh, oh well. Game on!! Can't wait.
  3. Have a blast! Be safe.
  4. I could explain it, I suggest using Sharp's program.
  5. The reason I have the iPod is that I bought it for the wife Xmas 06. She used it for ~6 months then had a falling out with the people at the health club. She picked up playing tennis. Since iPod and tennis don't go well together its been sitting on the counter for >~6 months. I figured its just gathering dust, I might as well put it to good use. I was looking in to the Zune, the 80GB version. I just don't like that the battery doesn't last long while playing video. I don't know if a dedicated player is the way to go right now or not. I'm also looking at either the Creative 60GB, or the Archos 160GB wifi. That's also the reason I want a multi-threaded conversion program, so I can put the Quad to good use. I bought AVS and it only supports one core. I'm gonna try the Nero recode trial and see how that goes, if I like it I'm gonna cause a stink with AVS get and get my money back. Nero is multi-threaded and is supposed to be the fastest encoder out there.
  6. Mercury your avatar is so distracting it took way longer than it should have to read this thread and write this response. Does this program support multiple threads? 1 Make sure in iTunes you set your iPod to function as an external hard drive. 2 Do not let iTunes sync your iPod! 3 In windows explorer set it so that you show all files and folders, show hidden files and folders. 4 Go to your iPod in win explorer, look for a folder called music(I think), In this folder there will be lots of other folders. 5 Copy this folder to somewhere on your computer. 6 Have iTunes import music into the program when it asks you where to import the music from select the folder you just copied. 7 Check to make sure all of your music is there in iTunes. If it is, hit sync and now your music is in iTunes and on your computer. This works I had to do it a few days ago.
  7. Done and done! Hope Mrs. Merc wins.
  8. HELLZ YEAH!! You can play this bad boy online? I'll hook up with some of youz once I get home! Fun times ahead.
  9. I have a 30GB iPod like Sharp's. I like the idea of the Touch, but the capacity isn't there yet. In the coming months as SSD prices come down we should see capacities reaching 64, 80, or even 128GB! I'll wait for that. What do you guys use to convert your video files to a compatible format?
  10. I received this same letter ~4 years ago. I replied, and I haven't used P2P stuff since. I buy my stuff or use stuff that I have that's >4 years old. Vista won't do CS9. Why are we even talking about this?? We've shut threads like this down before!?!? Any way piracy is cute but bad bad bad, bad boy piracy! Someone needs to delete this, who has the cajones?
  11. YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Its finally here! I can't wait to get it and play it whenever I get home. So its fun is it?
  12. I like the cheap $40 Sony ones that you can find at any Bestbuy. If you want break the bank Shure, Etymotic, Bose, have some options, some costing as much as $800. http://reviews.cnet.com/4520-6468_7-5117674-1.html http://www.cnet.com/topic-reviews/earphone.html http://mp3.com.com/topic/earbud/earphone.html
  13. Go see a medical professional, tell him your problems. They can suggest some sleep hygiene exercises and if the problems persist he maybe able to prescribe you something. Prescribed medications are not a "fix-all" and should not be used to 'permanently' 'fix' your problem. There is an underlying issue involved and until you identify that/those issue(s) and treat it/them you will not find relief. Start with the doctor, then sleep hygiene, then medications, then if that fails see a sleep specialist. Remember DO NOT self medicate and make sure if you do that you use only legal medications, and follow the correct dosages suggested on the label, the main thing is to stay safe. If there is nothing that can be done about the insomnia then you can discuss with the doctor options to combat day time sleepiness. Provigil is a very good non-addictive wakefulness promoting prescription medication that can help you to successfully stay alert and awake during the day with no serious harmful side effects. Remember consult your medical professional. Sleep is a very important physiological need that we have. You should take all variations in sleep quality and quantity very serious, your physical and mental health depend on it.

I want to cut the (=A=) into the side of my case but I don't know how to do it yet. I also need some automotive paint to paint it up like a Sherman tank with some bullet holes and stuff. I think that would be neat.
  15. I'm working off of a ~700 to 30000 ping on the Hughes net satellite I use at work.
  16. Give it a few weeks. Standalone players will probably start costing less, there was another blue laser shrink this past month. The smaller they are the more efficient they are, that means they can make more of them for less money and the players will get cheaper. Conversely I read an article that said Blue ray better not party too hard, because M$ is working on making it easier to download HD content!! I personally don't download any movie content much less HD. So I don't know how well the people who wrote that article know what they're talking about.
  17. When I get home I'm gonna hit up some BF2 big time. That is if I can remember my log in info.
  18. Thanks big guy. Did you type that up, that was a great explanation. I didn't know all that. But the two studios that supported HD DVD are blue ray now. HD DVD is now kaput. My HD DVD player was the best upscaling dvd player I'd ever seen. But it took a dump, now I have no HD player, bummer. At least I got on sale for a steal! Now if I could just convince the wife we need a Playstation.
  19. Welcome to the Armory forums. We have several servers running. Request ventrilo access so we can get to know you.
  20. What were the respective capacities? I thought that they used the same compression format for video and sound. Or is it that bluray is uncompressed? The nice thing about HD DVD was that there was a standard, if you made a player it had to have a network port and network capabilites. That way if your player needed a firmware update or the files for the newest encryption on the newest disks you just plug it in to you internet connection and it would download it automatically. With bluray there is no such standard, so each iteration of player has better capabilities than the previous one and if you have a early model you are SOL when you want to play newer movies.
  21. Would a 32 player server be too much. Would it be fun, or just carnage and mayhem?
  22. I was hesitant to buy one for just that reason. If you remember the DVD player interface from the PS2, it stunk. I didn't want to have to go through the same thing. That's why I was trying to decide dedicated player, or PS3. Well one thing is that when Gran Turismo 5 comes out I'll be able to play it! The only reason I bought the PS2 was for GT4.
  23. Works for me, my Toshiba HD DVD player crapped out on me. Is it PS3 time? Me thinks so.
  24. I hear what you're saying. Have you ever tried to get on a TF2 server? It's impossible, I often have to wait just to join one. I think if we could get it set up right it would always be full.

This is my next aquisition, Noctua NH-U12F High Performance Cooler, once I get this baby and get it installed I'll post some pics of the guts of my machine. I told the wife I was done spending $$ on computer parts, when she saw my +$1800 credit card balance. So I'll have to figure out a way to get it with out causing trouble. With an extra Noctua NF-P12 120mm fan, the whole setup should run me ~$90. I want to do some over clocking on my Q6600, Ive heard of 3.2GHz on stock Intel cooling but with this cooler I should have a nice cushion. It's gotten some good reviews and it's supposed to be super quiet, which is great, cause right now my rig sounds like a dust buster.
