I only use a joystick for flying, and I can do everything. I can do precision landings, precision hovering attacking titan guns. This configuration is nose up hovering by the way. It feels very natural for me to fly with the joystick. The stick I have, forward to back is pitch, side to side is roll, and twist is using the rudder. I have a throttle control which needs to be configured carefully. Because right in the center is off power for the gunship, full forward throttle makes it go forward, full back throttle is the hovering engines. I also have my shield button on the joystick, eject, missiles. It is kinda funny how I play bf2142. I have the joystick sitting right in front of me, and the keyboard right in front of that. So the joystick is kinda in the way but I seem to do fine.

I use some koss headphones. I need a sound card though. I have my pc hooked up to my stereo, and I have my headphones hooked up to that. Sometimes I play without headphones and it is kinda cool hearing all the explosions with the deep bass. I do prefer headphones though. I can hear someone sneaking up beside me and so I can turn and face them right away. In counter strike, I never played without headphones. I could kill someone while flash-blinded just by hearing them. I used to shoot through the walls on cs_italy while hanging out downstairs listening to their footsteps.

Vanguard doesn't suck. I have tried EQ1 and WoW and Dungeons and Dragons and Guild Wars, I loved Star Wars Galaxies Pre-CU. All those games I have tried for a few days and they were all a waste of money for me. To me, Vanguard ranks 2nd out of all these, although it is no SWG pre-cu. I am not really a mmorpg person anyway. The only reason I tried Vanguard was to fill the hole that SWG left me in after the combat upgrade. I can honestly say Vanguard is fun, but I am already losing interest and this is the 3rd week. They should make all servers pvp enabled, but only if you go overt or something like that similar to SWG. Also, the world is large enough, they should make their spawns weaker so even noobs can explore the world more. I have been playing for 3 weeks already and I am still friggin stuck around the city of Khal and I think that is the reason I am getting bored. If I try to venture out much further I am just gonna get my butt kicked. Also they should have the player housing available for noobs too. So for instance, a guild could be able to entice new members by offering housing. I haven't even seen a player house yet! I can understand that a boat should only be owned by a guild or a very wealthy person, but housing should be for everyone immediately.

How are you doing finding time to play any game? A mmorpg no less? Just askin because I got a bun in the oven too and I am gonna miss my games and other hobbies I will still find time to play games though even if it has to be 9pm or later at night

Halfway through the levels are you kidding me? I was on the other day and did a search, and there was a guy at level 45. So that would mean by today at that same rate, he is at level 50 and so that is the end of the game right? Blahhhhh he must not sleep or something lol or work?

Yea I am playing on Florendyl. I been playing it since it came out but I may be starting to get burnt a little because I am stuck living at Khal and I wanna travel more but I am just too weak. So I been playing BF2142 again.

Hey, where did you hear that they will have pre-cu SWG servers? Are u serious?

We should pick a good server to play on then, and make a guild. I am in it for the PVP and I want to go with the flavor of the month template right away :arrow: so I can be a god and kick everyones butt. So if anyone has an idea which server will be most populated, lets all pick it and make some guild up. We can use the armory ventrilo server too for chat and everything. If this game is as fun as SWG was before the combat upgrades, I can't wait. Now I just gotta hope the girlfriend leaves me time to play! :lies:

Hey guys I have this problem. I have to play the game with a custom setup, unfortunately I end up using my mouse wheel up and down for rifle and action 2. So this leaves me using a couple side buttons for rifle zoom and that sucks. So anyway I want to know if there is a way to do something like, "shift + mouse wheel up" for zoom in, and "shift + mouse wheel down" for zoom out? Is there a way to bind button combinations to actions? Like maybe for instance I want p+q to be commander chat, you get the idea? And before you say it, I am not changing my mouse wheel back to default, my brain is stuck the way it is now and I tried going back but then I can't access my rifle.

I agree with you Defcon. The people here at the Armory are really cool. I haven't been to a server on BF2142 yet with people as cool and mature as this place. But if you feel real alone, join a fraternity bro. Just tons of beer drinking, hazing prone, partying every day, people just like you and me No seriously, most fraternities teach good values, how to be a gentleman, being responsible, proper keg stand technique, etc... and will be there for you if you feel lonely, besides it is fun being a part of any organization, even if it isn't really so serious. Live up college life. But, fraternites are as serious as you can make it. In Kappa Sigma, the frat I was in, there is Jimmy Buffet (margaritaville was our anthem), Ted Turner, Edwin Hubble, Robert Redord, Bob Dole. I believe 80% of the last 10 presidents were part of some fraternity as well.

I might want to try it out too. I played SWG before and loved it before they ruined it with the combat upgrades.

Hey I remember that from last night! That was a blast. We were losing and then their shield came down. I had a squad with only one guy and decided to take a transport from the ground to their titan and found no one there. I blew one of the consoles and then someone else was waiting upstairs and blew the other console then they found out and killed us. Then I came back as they were blowing the other console and this time I was waiting upstairs and blew the other console and we were in. In a matter of seconds we had them at 50% hull when they finally somewhat regained their titan. There was mayhem on their titan I loved it! :thumbsup:

The venice core 3000+ is a good overclocker. I still have and use one and I overclock stable to 2.5GHz with just a thermaltake air cooler with voltages decreased from default!

I have both sprints, grenades and the extra clip. I am up one full line in recon along the lambert rifle line and assault with the baur line and the advanced med hub. I have all the squad leader unlocks. I am sergeant major gold right now on my way to petty officer silver I think. Wow, you do nearly the same thing I do with my mouse and having a 'main weapon' button. My buttons are mapped really funny. First of all I sit with my joystick in front of me for flying. My right click is jump, middle wheel button or wheel down are my secondary action, up wheel is rifle. Side button 1 is zoom in, side 2 is zoom out. Space is crouch, caps lock is grenade, Q is knife. I am all over the place lol. G is commo rose, T is tactical rose, left control is command or SL screen, left alt is voice chat, right alt is command chat, etc.... I like it this way though. I really customize it alot, just like I did with counter strike. Heck with that game I played with the mouse in my left hand and the joystick in my right hand. I am really screwed up because I can't play it any other way.

Well I think I finally have all of the icons down on the commander screen. Sometimes its hard playing on the PAC team though, the game is much easier when squad leaders are barking commands in english. I have another question though. Concerning the area scan drone or the sentry drone squad leader unlocks, if they get destroyed or lost, is there a way to call them back? Is there a way to store them too? I totally dig that area scan drone, it helps me out so much.

I got an air compressor with some tools, a new brushless motor system for my r/c buggy, clothes, and about 4 board games, a new wallet and just other stuff. My girlfriend got a bunch of baby clothes already and we are expecting in August of next year but our family couldn't wait!

Hey thanks guys. I will have to watch for that blinking circle now. I like the pilum launcher, it is awesome looking too. I thought it was a sniper rifle. It will be a long time before I can get enough unlocks to get it though. So that it is a known bug with that internet connection issue?! I was gonna pull my hair out already! I was trying everything they were saying in the official forums. I'll just wait till it gets fixed now. Do the squad leader unlocks stack? I was noticing that the squad beacon has a x1 by it, the sentry surveillance tool has an x2 by it, and the sentry gun has an x3 by it, what does that mean? Also, when commanding using the overhead map, if I point out an enemy and set him to 'spotted', does it show up on the teams netbat hud system?
