The new M60 is quite a bit lighter and it can be fired for long durations without melting the barrel. The video I saw showed it going through two boxes worth of ammo (they were linked) without letting off the trigger. Don't know the exact process of barrel making that makes it different. IMO the doctrine behind the using the 5.56 round is flawed. Jihadi's won't be pulled off the line to help a wounded (not dead) comrade. Likewise with China (heaven forbid) they would likely try to overrun positions with sheer numbers. We need something that causes grievous bodily harm no matter where on the body it hits. Yes a 5.56 round will do damage, but not as much as the 7.62. I think we need a heavier round that will tumble less and carry more kinetic energy into the target while not sacrificing accuracy at distance. My vote, something in the 2.43-2.70 caliber range.

No doubt. Also, two weeks after release whatever weapon you enjoy using the most will be nerfed to the point it would be better to throw it than fire it at your enemy. Then two weeks after that a patch will cause your computer to crash.

I've been reading plenty in forums for both Infinity Ward and charlieoscardelta.com and I have found a possible solution. Apparently Punkbuster doesn't like peripherals after this latest COD4 patch. It thinks they're hacks and kills the game. Xfire, vent, etc. Like you may have heard in my previous posts, my COD4 just up and quit after the latest patch. Hadn't played in days. Yesterday after reading a post on the subject, I disabled everything I could in the startup. Went to options in game and turned off punkbuster and then went to a no punkbuster server and...IT WORKED. While I won't be able to play on legit servers until it is patched at least now I can get my fix and start building rank to get my toys back. All I can say is, thank God.
