  1. If you don't have the game yet you can get it for that price now for a few more days I imagine.
  2. https://www.battlefield.com/news/article/they-shall-not-pass-battlefield-1-expansion Releasing March 2017, They Shall Not Pass* will be the first Battlefield™ 1 expansion. Featuring all-new maps, new weapons, and the new playable French Army faction, They Shall Not Pass will truly expand the theater of all-out war. Though we don’t want to give too much away at this point we have something special for you: concept exploration images from the DICE team. These images represent the studio’s vision of the battlefields you’ll encounter in They Shall Not Pass. Read on and learn what inspired the charred landscapes, muddy trenches, and close-quarter environments. http://i.imgur.com/thinKXN.jpg The stories of the heroic garrison inside of Fort Vaux inspired us deeply, they fought a tough battle for every inch in the dark in these underground corridors. Down here in the maze of dark galleries the French and Germans fought ferociously with grenades, flamethrowers, and poison gasses. http://i.imgur.com/CUkvwI2g.jpg Around 1 million shells were fired in the opening barrage of the Battle of Verdun. This created massive forest fires around the fortified city and the battlefields surrounding it. Soldiers tell stories of being able to see these fires from far away. We really wanted to capture this initial fighting in a battle that came to be known as the Devil’s Anvil. http://i.imgur.com/rhpAcix.jpg The initial fighting around Verdun quickly transformed villages like Samogneux and entire forests into shadows of their former self. Verdun turned into the longest battle of the war lasting 9 months which completely transformed it. We wanted our players to be part of these initial intense attacks in the cold February of 1916. http://i.imgur.com/1CNd3hM.jpg Some 40 million artillery shells were fired over the course of the battle at Verdun, pulverizing the ground, turning the earth into a shattered lunar landscape. And underneath some of these trenches, tunnels and underground fortresses provide for new experiences yet unexplored in Battlefield 1. http://i.imgur.com/HSkPepA.jpg In contrast to Verdun the Battle of Soissons in late 1918 inspired us to create a new set of maps that captures the massive French tank assaults. The fighting revolves around key bridges over the Aisne River and something big lurks around the village of Fismes. If you want a head start with They Shall Not Pass, a Battlefield 1 Premium Pass** will grant you this – and much more. Apart from two-week early access to all four expansions, the Battlefield 1 Premium Pass comes with priority server access, 20 new weapons, 14 free Superior Battlepacks, unique Dog Tags, and more. Kinda lame that it doesn't release until March 2017 though. Maybe we can get a good deal somewhere on Premium before then.
  3. There needs to be a rear view camera option for the planes like there was in BF2 so you could see if your bombs landed where you wanted them to.
  4. I'm not even worried about the damage though. It's the other stuff.

I'm actually fine with normal mode. We were stuck with it for what, a month and a half? Most players have gotten used to it by now anyways.
  6. So I guess hardcore mode is going to stay terrible then. Why couldn't they just make hardcore like it was in BF4? It worked fine in that game.

With large armies on foot or behind the wheel and the addition of fearsome Behemoths, Conquest brings together all the elements of the signature Battlefield All-Out War. DOMINATION Domination offers a fast-paced infantry focused combat in close quarter locations. It’s a smaller, but more focused version of Conquest, and the fighting revolves around strategic objectives. Ready your shotgun and sharpen your hatchet – in the Domination game mode things tend to get close and personal. OPERATIONS Operations offer epic journeys across several maps based upon real battles of World War I. We wanted to offer a large and epic experience with a focus on teamplay and frontline combat. Adding this meta-layer to the game mode, and stretching it across multiple interesting locations that both look and play very differently, adds a whole new layer of scale and variety to the battles in Battlefield 1. Your team can win on one map, proceed to the next map, and actually see the map you previously fought over on the horizon. OPERATIONS: OFFENSE As an attacker you’ll hear the commanding officer’s whistle as the order to charge the enemy is given. You run side-by-side with your teammates as you storm the enemy defensive positions on foot, in tanks, airplanes, boats, and on horseback. The attackers will win the Operation if they manage to capture the very last sector in the very last map. The attackers must capture and hold all defensive positions in order to capture the sector that is being fought over. Once this is done, the defenders will fall back to the next sector and regroup. The pacing and variety between the different sectors vary widely, since each sector offers a different amount of objectives to capture and defend as well as varied layouts and choke points. OPERATIONS: DEFENSE As a defender, you’ll dig down as you hear the alarm go off signaling an incoming attack. You’ll man the stationary machine-guns and cannons to aid you as you rain hell on the advancing enemy attackers. The defenders will win the Operation if they kill enough enemies to drain the battalions. We wanted to create a Battlefield experience that was not just bite-sized, but actually spanned beyond an hour of playtime. Something epic and compelling for players who wanted a chance to immerse themselves in this first global war, and capture the stories of how different battles were deeply connected to one another. This kind of frontline combat really captures the essence of WWI clashes, intimate and deeply rooted in breaking through or holding ground. The attackers must take territory and push the frontline forward, while the defenders are trying to hold the line. Should the defenders fail to hold their ground on a map, the Operation doesn’t stop here: they will fall back and regroup on a different map, while the attackers will continue to push. Sectors may fall, but players reinforced by gigantic Behemoths can still turn the tide. RUSH Communications and artillery were crucial during World War I, and Rush mode will have you interacting with both of them. In Rush, the Attacking forces must find and destroy the Defending force’s Telegraph Posts, which the defenders can use to call in artillery strikes. The Defenders can deny the Attackers by disarming the explosives they plant, but should the Telegraph Posts be destroyed, the Defenders must fall back to another sector. The Attackers win the battle if the Telegraph Positions in every sector are destroyed. The Defenders come out victorious if they’re able to run the Attackers out of reinforcements, or by having at least one Telegraph Position left intact when time runs out. TEAM DEATHMATCH In many ways World War 1 changed the notion of how war was fought, but the end goal was still to inflict as much damage as possible to force the enemy to surrender. Team Deathmatch hones in on the brutal simplicity of infantry warfare: kill or be killed. This mode pits your side against the enemy and you need to defeat as many enemies as possible while protecting yourself and your team mates. At regular intervals a powerful Elite Class weapon is dropped somewhere on the map. Grab it to get the upper hand in terms of firepower. The winning side is the one that inflicts the most casualties to the enemy. If the timer runs out, the team that has killed the most enemies win. WAR PIGEONS During the Great War, man-made communication systems were still crude and unreliable, so dogs and pigeons were used extensively to carry messages. In the War Pigeons game mode the opposing sides compete to use messenger pigeons to call in artillery barrages on the enemy. When the game starts, a pigeon coup with a messenger pigeon is placed somewhere on the map. Locate the pigeon before the enemy and carry it to a safe location out in the open. There you prepare a message and send it off, calling for artillery support. Once a message is successfully sent an artillery barrage will strike the enemy.
  11. I thought they were OK too except you can swing the sword at an enemy from 15 feet away (literally) and still kill him.
  12. Good to see they're giving the support kit a way to deal with tanks.
  13. I think if you already had your Origin name in your profile you don't have to do anything. I went to my career page, copied the number, and that number was already in my profile on this website. So it's good to check beforehand to see if it's already in there.
  14. I'm tired of BF4 and Hardline was a flop so yeah I'm buying BF1.
  15. I'm level 20 and I just now leveled up the class I play as 90% of the time (Support).
  16. If you're using gmail check under the "Promotions" tab.

I learned something new (and very neat), if you click on the vehicle icon on the map, at the bottom of the screen, a little menu comes up where you can select which of the vehicles you want. For example, if you click on the plane icon, at the bottom, an attack plane, a fighter plane, and a bomber plane icon show up. You can pick which of the 3 you want to spawn in. Same goes for tanks.

I don't remember previous betas having a hardcore mode. They probably just limited it to normal mode so people won't be able to go around and teamkill. Plus since it is a beta they'll be taking feedback and hopefully apply it to the final version of the game.

Some impressions: I played for about 30 minutes. Game looks good and runs great on ultra settings. The infantry gameplay feels pretty similar to BF4 but more refined. Vehicles feel much different but better. It feels like you're actually inside one of them when driving. The attack planes are fun to use. It has a machine gun as the primary weapon and bombs as secondary. They work sorta like the bombs did in BF2 except the pilot has them this time, and it also has a 2nd seat for rear gunner. The plane can take several hits before being taken down and you can repair the plane from the pilot seat but you lose control of the plane when you try to do so.There are fighter planes as well which serve primarily to take out the attack planes. As for the tanks, I've only played as the Ottoman Empire so far (other team was British Empire), and just used their light tank which is pretty good, it's pretty slow, and has decent armor for a light tank, but you'll want a gunner because the gunner controls the cannon while the driver controls the machine gun. I haven't had a chance to use the horses yet but I was killed by one. They're really fast. i was shooting at one, hitting it several times and it still managed to close the gap and kill me. Vehicle spawning works like BF4 and now there's an animation when you enter a vehicle that's already on the map (such as a tank or armored car) so you don't magically appear in or out of the vehicle. As for the map itself, it's pretty big. The town is kinda the focal point of the map with the train spawning right outside. Most of the infantry combat will take place here with vehicle combat taking place outside. There's transportation available at the main base that you should take advantage of or you'll be running several hundred meters just to the first flag. You can control the train, moving it up and down the tracks. It has weapons on it that will shred through planes and other vehicles, and it's hard to take down, but it can only cover a portion of the map and I'm not sure if it respawns or not. A good strategy for taking this train out is to use the speed of the horses to ride along side it and use anti-tank grenades. Or just bomb it from the attack plane. Unfortunately there's a sandstorm on this map like Gulf of Oman so it makes it harder to see but not quite as bad as Gulf of Oman. The tickets count forwards from 0 to whatever the limit set by the server is. I was playing on normal mode so what I wrote above about some of the vehicles will probably be different on hardcore mode. The user interface reminds me of Battlefront. Actually to be truthful the game really looks like Battlefront but in a WWI setting. Will post more thoughts later but this sums up most of what I got out of it.
  20. Here it is for the PS4. It releases for the PS4 and Xbox One first and then later on PC. It'll have all the Battlefield games starting with BF3 and all future BF games as well. http://i.imgur.com/pK615qn.png
  21. Also here's some gameplay from the map including some horses https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0SswVXhw7Ok
  22. I think they said you could a couple months ago at E3.
  23. Gotta go here, sign in, and select your platform preference by the 21st so you can start playing on the 31st. https://www.battlefield.com/community/insider
  24. I got that email too. Apparently it's about the video card being falsely advertised as 4GB even though it really is only 3.5GB. At least that's what I read.
