well.. im not ATI but.. i have never uninstalled the old ones.. i figure if it did mess up I should be able to figure out how to fix it with safe mode and whatever.. but it hasn't ever given me any problems and i have almost all of their all in wonder cards :o

i never have.. i just install over the top that has worked for the ati all in wonder pro the ati all in wonder rage 128 pro the ati all in wonder radeon 8500dv and the ati all in wonder 9800 pro.. with no problems for me.. i think they just say that to make sure that there are no problems...

gif's have less colors then jpgs so they are generally smaller given a picture of the same size although jpg has built in compression.. so if your looking for better colors go jpg if you just want it nice and small and dont mind about the color gif is the way to go.. you can also animate gif's.. you can see some of the sigs here are animated gifs

chipset drivers.. especially for via chipsets their notorius for this... its always best to make sure you have all the latest drivers.. video.. sound.. chipset..

sounds like the power supply is ok.. you wouldnt happen to have that plugged into a ups or anything would you? sounds like some type of small surge smoked your mobo...

no beeps? does the board light up or the hard drives spin up or anything at all? the power supply might not be engageing the motherboard when you push the power button.. tricky part about that is.. it could be the power supply or it could be the motherboard.. so if you got a spare power supply laying around id try that.. if that doesnt work id say your motherboard has had enough.. time for a new one prices for a motherboard would range from about $70 to whatever you want to spend.. i do remember having an old celeron 500 that did that.. the motherboard just gave up i tried the power supply it wasnt it.. so anyway thats my guess sorry it doesnt contain good news other then you now have something you can take to the target range and shoot at

a bad game meaning junk? or a bad game meaning kick butt?.. if you want to know wich game has the best chance to be junk.. let me give you one word to think about that should answer your question "Steam" without it the game should have at least blown halo 2 away.. with it.. you may as well dig your eyes out with a spoon because you wont ever see it work quite right... of corse thats just my opinion im sure someone out there actually likes steam.. but then again someone out there likes Kenny-G too..

there is a setting in the config file on the server for "kickback" so my guess is that it is part of the game
