Ok.. Basically, we need some new banners for our servers, Each of the banners should conform to the following specifications. For the BF2142 server 500px wide, 123px high, exactly. for the COD4 servers its not so much of a big issue with regards to the size. athough no more than 500px wide 150px high Must contain "The Armory" somewhere, and some reference to the website (either www.thearmory.cc or thearmory.cc - you decide how to do it) Keep it within the armory rules of course. I dont think i can really say very much more.. so i will leave it up to creative minds going.. this isnt a competition (yet) but i would like to set a time limit, so if you can have it done by the 10th December, Post entries here... thanks.

Xfire gives the DX error.. turn off Xfire and you wont crash when changing settings.. keep Xfire off whilst playing.. Try running it with nothing on... (after shutting Xfire down) turn everything to lowest settings, and work your way through turning them on or up, one by one, playing for a little bit in between each change.. that will at very least pinpoint the problems..

Ok been out a few weeks now,. so everyone should ahve an idea of which maps they love, and which they hate.. This poll is to find the most popular maps (so vote for the ones you like) I appreciate that some maps are better on some gamemodes than others.. If this is the case (say, Bloc, is better on TDM than Domination) Still please vote for that map, but, make a note of the preference below for any.. the poll itself is specifically for MAP only, not gametype. YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO VOTE FOR MULTIPLE MAPS so please choose all you like FYI.. The words in brackets (such as mp_overgrown) are just the server file names of the maps, notice some are different.

The only difference between hardcore and regular is that in hardcore, you get killed by stray bullets... in regular you get killedc by grenade spam and M203 spam..

Try the M203... ultimate annoyance.. just make sure you are not in vent with him at the time..

10s is default for hardcore.. I hate killcam, takes something away from the game for me,

i made a suggestion in the "what servers what maps" thread that, a few of the HC servers i have found (most actually),m operate tactical realism, by that i mean FF on, no deathcam, 100% return on the FF damage (ie if you kill someone it kills you also) and it seems to work VERY well.

its more than worth it.. only peice of advice i can give is to CHOOSE A COURSE that is something you ARE INTERESTED IN, otherwise it will be 200 times harder to make it thru it

Translated, you need to use cover.. you have to think about how much ammo you use, you dont get a big "OMG GRENADE TO YOUR LEFT" icon which means you have to use more than your sight when playing, you CANT bunnyhop, cause it does little or nothing, you cant strafe (which is why cossu hates it so much) cause it will do little or nothing for you, you dont have to empty 200 rounds into the guys face to down him.. (or spam the m203 like on most regular servers), you HAVE to use cover and play tactically, you HAVE to think about how you go around corners, where people might be. You can get away with using Semi auto weapons.. (you get screwed over on regular servers, if you use anything other than a fully auto weapon), and you DONT get every player using a gun+m203 for that instant kill.. basically Hardcore is everything BF2142 is not.. hence cossu hates it, and whines intensely..at every given opportunity. FTR, Every time i played so far on the server, it has been full.. every Hardcore server i have found, has been full, or near capacity (they are few and far between).. It will all be made nice and clear when we have the population stats when running 2 side by side servers. i will evel go so far as to put some $$$ on the table and pledge a $25 donation to the armory if the regular server is more popular than the hardcore server after 1 month of playtime (judging by the amount of a single trackable stat if there is one)

Definatly not travis.. wouldnt expect that.. but most certianly 1 hardcore, 1 non hardcore with a mix of modes on each of them to spice things up (seperate modes rotating on both servers that is.. hard to explain)

What server i would like (and indeed ALOT of hardcore servers are) ARMORY Tactical Realism Hardcore 28 players FF on (with 100% FF return - you kill them, it kills you) Killcam OFF, Spectate ON Mixture of modes Mixture of HQ, Domination, Sabotage over the popular maps, randomly, Voting on to select the next map, kickvoting on (isnt abused like in BF2142)
