  1. Your right Gator....broken record....gets old....
  2. Got this from thread on same subject. Best answer I've read on subject. Is clear and clarifies once and for all thatallwing exploits for all to learn and use makes more sense and is more fair than the impossible act of trying to police every single fa player... indeed...an impossible task.
  3. Outstanding thread...
  4. Amen Mac...Amen!
  5. BTW...happy mother's day to you mom's out there!
  6. Can't believe I forgot  Blues Best- Jimmy Ray VaughnMac, you make a good point with Jimmy Page. Bane... absolutely Brian May... he is almost in a class by himself with his homemade ax and the sounds he got from it...light years ahead of the pack! 8) But let's face it... for vision, breaking the mold, creating an entirely new paradigm, no one comes close to Jimmy. His legacy speaks to the fact that he sounds remarkably modern 30 plus years AFTER his death! Unreal. And to think he was doing this stuff in 1965 and 66  when a lot of bands were still in the Beach Boy sound!!! I remember hearing him the first time and thinking he was crap, but that was because what he was doing was so totally new and radical, no one, NONE, had ever done what he was doing. It was really shocking. Now he sounds almost tame. One other thing, we forget he did not have access to all the high tech stuff that makes his sound easy (relatively speaking) to duplicate today. He basically invented his sounds with basic amplifier and an 8 track recording system. Again, the guy was just simply out there. This short bio brought to you by: Chappy! :o

  12. uh....shouldn't this thread be in a personals ad or something? seriously...there is too much emphasis on "couples" in our culture. it's as if a person is abnormal if they don't have a partner. obviously that is bs. everyone is different and people change in a life, going from extravert to introvert and back again in the course of a life. happiness, for me, is an internal thing and cannot be gauranteed by things or relationships. the most imporatant relationship is the one we have with our self and, in my opinion, the one we have with God/Higher Power, however that is understood. it is imperative, i think, that a person has a deep understanding of connection with self and life, ALL of life and ALL of creation, that gives living a greater sense of fullfillment and purpose. in spite of all the conflicting info, no one, NO ONE, lives totally dependent of others and our environment. we all need air, water, etc. we also need other responsible people to get along in life. those are just facts. i think there is danger in extremes. being too withdrawn or to extroverted has its problems. there is no shame in seeking a "good" counselor (sometimes you have to look long and hard to find one  ) to help with these extremes. now..as for the car bill... one assumes responsibility for a car every time you take get behind a wheel, that responsability should extend to all services and payment for the choice and benefit of using that car, even for just one drive. however, whenever i let someone use my car, i tell myself that i am the one letting them use it, and therefore, will take responsability for whatever happens as a result of allowing someone else to drive with my permission! but that's just me.... good luck and happy driving!

  19. Way too funny Gator... very cool.
  20. Actually Pres. Clinton (who had read and studied "Habits of the Heart") and got the idea of "reviving" the "town hall" meetings. I think, as limited as it was, it was refreshing to a public who in 1989 felt "out of the loop" in political debate. He even brought this to the so-called Gen X crowd on MTV!!! Quite clever actually. Now almost all politicians do this but I suspect how much of it is real dialog and what is just mear cosmetics for political appearence!
  21. Run after the dream my friend... do not look back years from now and say, "what if" or "I wish..." Its never too late. But I appreciate the "catch." Wouldn't it be great if REAL reform was made on campaign contributions and more REAL people like your self can be heard and dialog with the public. This is an important critical peice of the democratic system that is missing that was essential in the first hundred years of our country. Every town and city had a civic center (sometimes churches were used as they were centrally located and were already the center of social activities). This was the way the public had opportunities to be involved, dialog, in the political process. Back then EVERYONE showed up and got involved (of course women, as a general rule, did not actually speak directly but through the husbands... some would say the bedroom... ouch!). Today, however, most people are skeptic, feel left out, overworked, and just plain cynical about a system that is largely corporately paid and bought for for those who already are in families/inner circles of power. Again, "Habits of the Heart" (book, NOT the movie) does a great job distilling the changes of our society and the differences in todays geo/political society.
  22. True that bro!
  23. LOL!!! You go State!!! But you might want to sell your soul to corporate backers (unless you already own one!) who can finance your campaign! 8) Of course *cough* you could recycle some of the contraband you run across in your present vocation *cough*! BTW, if I get quoted about this I will deny saying it, only "heard" about it from some "unknown source"
