  1. The 20% discount that Ubisoft gives you cannot be applied to pre-released games. I tried it already. You could wait for a minute after release and get it then, which may be an option to take.
  2. Opps, I missed that one. Good observation! They definitely added the "lean" feature to the game, but for now, we do not know if it is done manually (with a key stroke) or automatically driven like in Battlefield Other than the 3rd person view, I don't see any similarities to the Division. Am I missing something? It looks exactly like GRW to me. I played the Division 2 Beta and I don't see any similarities other than the 3rd person view. I think they were designed for console games, and in fact, I think that is why they made the move to 3rd person view. It is that in GRW now. In fact they are selling GRW for 70% off, so come join us for some PvP action and get the feel for it. If not they also have a free trial to play ...the game has come a long way. You will see why we love the game so much. Lastly, I am not a fan of 3rd person games either, but at least when you aim, it is in 1st person view. Yes, you are exactly correct. I did say that, but I know that GRW plays well and I like it. Besides, if I don't like the Beta, I can cancel at any time. I came to realize they are very few good games out there of the FPS genre, so we are left with few choices. A good example of a bad would be World War 3. What a garbage game that was to play, and I wish I could get my money back.
  3. The game takes place on a mysterious (and remote) Pacific island named “Aurora”. Skell Technologies is headquartered there and have facilities all over the island. They produce various types of drones. The term “Breakpoint” is a “forced posture change”. A shift from attack to defend and from defend to withdraw. From Recon… to Survive. It's a moment when a unit has lost it’s combat effectiveness. When it is no longer able to fight. The onset of this inability to carry out a mission constitutes a “Breakpoint.” The basic story line goes something like this: The Pentagon has lost contact with the contractors in Aurora, so a Special Operations team is called in to find out what's going on. Aurora is a large open world comprised of snowy peaks, sandy beaches, jungles, deserts, fjords, and even a volcano, which is owned and operated by an accomplished engineer named“Jace Skell”. Once your arrive on the island, you find out that you're no longer the "hunter" but the "hunted". A group of rogue Special Forces operators have taken the island, and you find yourself having to survive. The rogue Special Forces have similar experience and training as you, so they will be tough to defeat. They call themselves the “Wolves”. Not only have they taken over the island, but they have reprogrammed Jace Skell’s drones to work for them. There are also contractor guards on the island as well, so you will have more to deal with My observations of the in-game Alpha footage: As expected, the game looks amazing You have the ability to physically bandage your wounds and give yourself injections to keep going. You can see this in the animation while bandaging and injecting which looks pretty cool If you are wounded, there is a difference between however, you will be slowed down. They are 3 tiers or levels of being wounded, and it goes something like this: Tier 1 you get slowed down and perhaps limp Tier 2 you get slowed down and have a hard time aiming your weapon Tier 3 you move extremely slow and can only use your pistol to defend yourself Instead of running down steep embankments as in GRW, you actually can slide and even tumble You can low crawl up to the enemy, kick them down, and commence to kick there ass into submission. A very cool animation While aiming, it looks like some players were in 3rd person view the entire time, both while moving and while aiming (scoped in), while other players were using the hybrid view like GRW where the front sights would come into view only when you aim (scope in). To me it looks like they may give us a choice in the Settings where you can run one or the other. In any case, I wonder which would be better in so far as accuracy is concerned? In GRW, you almost never hit the target (hip fire) unless you are scoped in. We will have to test this in the Beta when it comes out NOTE: After watching the interview with the Devs, you will have the choice to either fight in 3rd person mode (full-time), or chose to the GRW style where you see your front sights when you aim. Everyone gets a "Breach" kit/tool so you can cut through fences now …very cool indeed The Ghost Leader was able to attach a Silencer on his weapon when they entered the villa Unless I am mistaken, it looks like 3rd person view does not allow for, or at least “as much” peeking as it did in GRW, but I may be wrong A nearby explosion knocked the female Ghost to the ground, which was a cool effect They have impact smoke grenades to mask movement to help a downed soldier (in one of the kits anyway) If a soldier is downed, you can pick him/her up and carry them over your soldier to safety Intro and interview with the devs: Started Ghost Wildlands with team of 30. They now have more than a thousand devs of working on the project With the “Prone Camo” feature you can blend in with the environment You can create a “bivouac” where you can rest and recoup. You will be able to change kits during this time without having to leave the game. Four Classes will be available at launch, and more added in later updates. I guess it is kind of what they did for GRW to this date. The Raid mode is for 4-man COOP only. If the enemy spots you, they will coordinate and come for you real hard, so pick friends that know how to play good together PVP will be available at launch, but what is really cool is that all progression will remain the same through the entire game (Solo, Coop, and PVP). So, if you want an unlock for PvP, let’s say, you can earn the unlock in Solo or COOP modes and use it for PvP. There are no longer AI teammates, so you play either Solo, COOP and PvP with friends Every four months they will release a new major expansion episode to the game, which will include the very first “Raid” in a Ghost Recon game. Again, Raid requires 4-player COOP only, and is very difficult to win More about PVP coming to Gamecon in August There are no plans at this time for a Battle Royal mode (thank God)

  6. An interesting article that will be published in Forbes magazine at the end of the month. I have invested a few dollars myself, but no matter what they say, the game is unlike any other I have ever played. I really enjoy getting immersed in the game, and look forward to each and every update. 8. A documentary about Star Trek: Deep Space Nine. This was crowdfunded, and has supposedly 20 minutes of HD footage to show what it would look like (as you know TOS and NextGen got an HD remake). Deep Space Nine was one of my top two Trek series (Star Trek: DIscovery, also). I recently finished watching all seven seasons, again. [GALLERY=media, 14213][/GALLERY]
  9. I watched a little bit of this new Syfy movie made in China. io9 reports it has solid reviews, so you might want to give it a try. The Netflix version I was watching was dubbed in English without having to read subtitles. [GALLERY=media, 14212][/GALLERY]
