  1. We can actually use both. People who just want to see who is in TeamSpeak can view the WordPress front end, and if they want to venture further, they can log into the forum and interact like a normal user. Either way, I will be keeping the forums because I have spent too way too much time setting them up. Besides, if DICE's next game allows for rental servers, the flood gates would open up once again. If Axlerod keeps ribbing their asses about not renting servers, maybe they will give in and let have a damn server.

  4. I agree with what you said, but that should not affect us as a group in so far as participation in the website is concerned. I'm not so much venting as I am coming to realize we need a new approach to cater to non-participating community members. You and Rogue, for example, participate, but most users do not. Things are not the way they used to be just a few years ago. We are now in the age of free Discord and Facebook, and non-rentable servers. Perhaps clan websites might be a thing of the past, and a Wordpress website would be better suited to the masses in providing info for consumption, with a few of us as authors for news stories, for example.

  6. These are the games that are relatively new and are currently being played by our members. If all games were listed, the list would be in the thousands, so that is not practical. If you see a particular game you would like listed, I could add it. I'm also taking about people who no longer make threads or post comments, because that is the whole idea of having a forum. It gives users a chance to exchange news and information.
  7. Thank you to those who took the time to add their game entries to the site. I tried to create something nice for members, but unfortunately only a few took the 30 seconds needed to make it happen. Lesson learned on this one... ? I am seriously thinking about replacing the XenForo software with a Wordpress site that will be totally driven by myself and maybe a few others who will provide stories and information, and perhaps a TeamSpeak status block, only. With the exception of a few individuals who actually contribute to the site, it just doesn't seem worth it sometimes.

  12. You are a smart guy, @NetRngr. I tested again with Discord minimized and having closed to the system tray. It showed 0% GPU (although the app was active), and no signs of GPU usage at all when it was closed to the system tray. So the moral of the story is, don't run Discord with the Window opened, because it will use GPU resources. This also made me think that we probably shouldn't have our Internet browsers opened either during game play.
  13. Fantastic job on an oldie but goodie Another great cover of a Buffalo Springfield song Nice harmonies
  14. I was looking for some information on the upcoming TeamSpeak 5, when I stumbled upon a post from a former Discord user who stated he uses TeamSpeak now because his FPS goes down while using Discord. He said Discord supposedly uses GPU resources in addition to CPU resources. He said the Discord app is actually like a mini web browser, which is why it uses GPU resources, so I thought I would give it a test and see for myself. During the test I observed the Discord GPU spike as high 6.7%, although only for a moment. TeamSpeak does not use any GPU resources, and only uses a small amount of CPU. Just some food for thought... I'm keying both TS3 and Discord at the same time https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y3MNXGt0Vn4

  16. Team Speak Overwolf Add-on - Multimedia and IT - Star Citizen Base FORUMS.STARCITIZENBASE.COM Hello, I'm using Overwolf add-on for TS; unfortunately it does not display it's overlays in Star Citizen. I found a workaround which allows to work properly. 1- you need to find the file GamList located C:\Users\******\AppData\Local\Overwolf (or write this in the ''Run'' window: %localappdata%/Ov... 1. Find the GamListxxxx.xml file located in Windows Explorer at C:\Users\******\AppData\Local\Overwolf NOTE: You can find it easier by simply typing %localappdata%/Overwolf using the ''Run'' window 2. Find the following code line (select Alt-F to bring up search) 3. Below that you will find: Change None to Supported so it looks like this: 4. Locate this line: Change starcitizenlauncher.exe to RSI Launcher.exe so it looks like this: Special Note: If you update or add additional games, the XML file will reset and require you to add these settings again.

  18. Okay, I found out why some of the Codecs are grayed out. Apparently they are removing "Legacy" Codecs from the list. [Release] TeamSpeak 3 Server 3.7.x - TeamSpeak FORUM.TEAMSPEAK.COM Hello! Today we released the stable version of server 3.7.0 and here is a list about what you can expect from this release. This server version adds a new feature that the upcoming (not yet released) TeamSpeak 5 Client can use. The TeamSpeak 3 client & ServerQuery will not see anything new here. It could be that user interactions may have a bigger impact on CPU & RAM. So please hold an eye on your system and report back if something strange is going on or feels slower on your
  19. I discovered that several Teamspeak codecs were grayed out, so I did some research. Apparently, Opus is the replacement for Speex, because it has better sound quality. They are different levels of Opus, so I recommend you use the highest for best sound quality. You can read more about Opus here... Opus (audio format - Wikipedia EN.WIKIPEDIA.ORG ) If you create a channel, I recommended you set the channel codec to Opus "Voice" level 10 (Opus Music level 10 sounds better, but may have increased latency from what I read)
