This is correct but do not forget the Front side bus is the issue here.I understand the latency thing but you cannot compare PC3200 and PC4000 when one cannot be used at the FSB of the other. That is what I am saying. Otherwise they are correct. Reread what I said above. When u raise your fsb. You are raising your pipe that goes into your CPU and SYSTEM. Whereas the memory increase/decrease/latency is just trying to push more info thru the same size hole per say. Better latency will not be effective unless you raise your fsb. My experience is you must raise your FSB at least 10 mhz to realize ONE drop in latency say cas 2 to cas 2.5.In other words. 200 fsb at cas 2 is about the same as cas 2.5 at 210 fsb. That is one adjustment at a time. There is a big difference between cas2,2,2,10 at 200fsb and cas2.5,3,3,10 at 200 fsb. Understand.?Bottom line people is the FRONTSIDE BUS. Why do you think Intel and AMD have made them so fast the last few years.? More fsb = way better performance. You can put pc 6000 in oyur computer and it will do no good unless you match the fsb to it. Now drop in pc 3200 with 1,1,1,1 and that will make a huge difference if they could make such stuff.

luker. You will not find ram that can do 2,2,2,10 at 260fsb.You can find low latency that will do maybe 220, 230 but not much after that. The bandwidth increase accompanied by the increase in CPU mhz is better than having the low latency.For example. If I set my ram for cas 2.5. Run a benchmark. I may loose 5fps as compared with cas 2. It is better to increase the bandwidth 20mhz ( cas 2.5 will let you ) then to have lower latency.If you have a system that cannot overclock much past 200fsb but you can set the memory timings in the bios. If you need to get every last fsp out of your system. Then get low latency stuff. Going from 2.5,3,3,10 to 2,2,2,10 will gain you like 15 to 20 fps in most games. HOWEVER. More memory will nnot net you this and BUYING A BETTER VIDEOCARD SHOULD give you more FPS than this. So spend your money on a better videocard. That is if your system can push it.

Athlon 64 2800 at 260fsb. 512mb PC3500 at 2.5,3,3,11. CPU at 2350mhz They get 100fps. Shuttle AN35N Ultra Nforce2 at 200fsb CPU at 2200mhz 512mb pc3200 at 2,3,3,11.
