Get the latest edition to PC Gamer.The game will support DX 7, DX 8, and DX 9 streams for videocards. That is why it will be able to have a P4 1.6 with a GF4MX440 run the game. It will not look great but it will be playable.As to the memory issue. With the games of today having larger and larger textures. More onboard ram will be needed. Also the CPU's will not be getting more powerful but the v-cards will so they will need the ram on board to process these complex textures whether they get it done in one pas two or 4. Depends on the videocard. More passes are better and require more memory.Get the PC gamer for more info. I am sure there are acticles online that spell this out.
