  1. Your memory is not compatable with either upgrade MOBO. You will have to buy it no matter what.AS far as the videocard. You are correct about the HL2 or Doom but it will still play them OK. However.......You MUST get new Memory, Mobo, CPU.......You do NOT have to get a videocard. The MX 440 WILL play games without extra cost. It will have good framerates. NOT HL2 or Doom3 but when you have the money, upgrade to a Better card.
  2. I have read many a forum and work with a guy that has be contacted. It happens when you constantly d/l and amass monthly totals in excess of the average consumer.

  4. It is just a Opinion. As I ave stated above. I have built so many ME systems and they are all great. There are 11 in my house that get used just about every week for Gaming, Burning, surfing etc etc. ME is fine in todays build with the Hardware I use.

  6. Uh, does it come with Stands? You need to remember that the Nforce is FREE and does just as much. It just might not be as intuitive when it comes to speaker jacks.

  10. Agreed. They are being more proactive but I wonder why?I can attain XP if I want. We all know you can do this illegally with Keygens etc etc.I have built 10 systems with XP this year alone. It does work well but it is not for me at the moment as Carl knows I have 11 PC's here and swapping out parts would cause havoc on an XP system. Especially a motherboard. It is really a good Suite of Software. It does a little of everything well. I would rather have an A LA CART Operating system. Pic what you want so it does not overwhelm you.

  12. 80 gb HD is a good choice if you know what you currently have. As far as the Onboard sound....... The Nforce 2 onboard sound is JUST as good as the Audigy. YES really....... http://www.firingsquad.com/hardware/audigy2_versus_nforce2/page7.asp Read and Heed.

  14. BTW. This system, when the Videocard is upgraded, will absolutely rock compared to above.Plus if you need to in time. You can overclock with it and the NF2 Mobo is extremely bulletproof when it comes to overclocking. When it crashes from you pushing it too far it does not screw up any of the other things in your system b/c it locks the PCI bus automatically.

  16. This is Tiger Direct Canada Get this Motherboard...... http://www.tigerdirect.ca/applications/searchtools/item-Details.asp?EdpNo=634806&sku=S451-2034 Get this Processor....... http://www.tigerdirect.ca/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=633516 Get this Memory..... 512mb....... http://www.tigerdirect.ca/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=586829 Or 256mb if Money is short....... 256mb ....... http://www.tigerdirect.ca/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=660127 I would get this videocard....... http://www.tigerdirect.ca/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=697012&CatId=1091 Spend the money on the core system, CPU, Mobo, Memory for the moment. Actually I would Not even get the videocard yet. Build this system with your current Videocard, Case, HD, CDrom, Floppy etc etc. Try it out and see how you like it. If your card is not adequate. Then upgrade say for a X-mas present. BTW your current memory is not compatible with this system. Mac

  20. Get a Smallish HD for now.How many games do you really play. When you run low. Buy a new HD and start loading stuff on it.I would not concern myslef with 2mb vs 8mb.You will see more performance differences with better videocards, motherbaords, CPU's, and Quantity/Quality of memory.Secondary items I would not max out or Not get to save money. DVD Writer, Big HD, Extra CDrom, Case Mods, Extra Ram, Fancy cables, Etc Etc.

  22. Not silly when it has more problems than any of its previous 9x releases.Yes it's core is more stable than 9x but when you get down to it. 9x is simpler and has less problems now than XP.What I would suggest is for you to load it up. Update it and see what I mean. For the average Joe. It runs great. When it is time to upgrade I will but it is a rip off to have to pay for an operating system for every computer in your house.I mean that rule is ridiculous.XP is more of a Suite than a OP system. It would be great to have a slimed down version, say maybe one geared for gaming like MS said they would release but never did.As stated above. Whatever floats your boat.ME floats mine Extremely well.
