My GF3 TI200 SMOKED a 5200.Ask Flakmagnet. He came over and I put one in his system. It was a TWO time performance difference. FPS that is.Get a Shuttle AN35N UltraAMD Barton 2500512mb of PC2700 DDRThis will be the least expensive route for you to go as far as performance goes.If you can afford PC 3200 get it but I would not spend the extra here. I would spend the extra on a better videocard.

One 120 will push almost as much air as 3 regular 80's and do it quieter.If you can put one in the top of your case. Thats even better.

Stats are tracked by names not ID's anymore.So when the CD is on and things are OK your name appears normal.If you play without cd b/c it is not working for you, you do not have it on, or the server is not working. You get....... [NO CD] CIA Mister DThat messes up the stats in a big way by adding too many names for people to accuratly track.So far CD still has been weekly as far as I know where it effects either the server or the Client to the effect that it must be turned off.That makes downtime for the server b/c people do not or cannot play there.We want a full server running 24/7. Not one that runs 5 or 6 days a week 24/6 b/c CD screws it up and makes it so you cannot play. YES We run a server and we are sort of expected to keep it up but I'll be damned if I or anyone else is going to be married to the gosh darn box.

Shotty.Buy the case.Put in a powersupply.Overclock as usualy.Record the case temps and see if it impedes your overclock.If it does. Add a videocard cooler to draw the hot V-card air out of the case. Test again.Add a rear exhaust case fan.TestEtc etc.No need to add noise when it will do no good. The likely hood of your processor biting the big one b/c of heat ( a few extra degrees ) before it needs to be upgraded is not likely.

That is why I spec'd the system I did. Tiger Direct has decent prices but shipping is bleh. You had only so much to spend and it will do the best for you with that money. If anyone can find a Better Mobo, CPU and Memory, shipped to Cananda please post here. I really do not know many good Canadian retailers.If you can find the same equipment else where. Get it for less. Just get that equipment.Later when the New Nvidia cards drive the prices down of the current ones. Get a different card at a lower price. Like a 5900XT.

Having CD optional is not an option b/c it ruins players stats and most people like to see them. With the CD getting screwed up EVERY week. That means the stats will be useless and Admins MUST get new server side CD updates or players must do the same. It is REALLY Tiresome.Gator chose HL guard b/c sooo many people were complaining about no cheat detection.As far as the Server.It is a Celeron 2 ( Pentium 4 wannabe) at 2.4ghz with 512mb of ram on a 10mb/s connection. When there are 26 players in game the CPU is barely runing at 45% capacity.When we run Two FA games. It can run a 20 player and an 18 player server simultaneoulsy and the CPU will never max out.You have been seeing "Higher" pings but they are not actually higher. The HLGuard takes some CPU rescources and that results in higher looking pings but everyone has it so you really do not know the difference.So again. Until CD become stable MONTHLY. We will do what we see fit as to maintain our sanity and yours concerning CD>As far as the hackers. Record demos.

I agree but he stated that he wanted to spend no more than.......Faster ram will only overclock better so no need to spend more there.......Mobos.......I have benchedmarked a lot of them.The ONLY way the Asus or Abit or whateever is faster is when the Mobo comes with Soundstorm Audio. It is very efficient and the CPU is freed up to do more videoprocessing.The Shuttle is almost as fast it and overclocks just as well.It just costs less.As far as the prices.They were linked from your Tiger direct so I assume they are Canadian.FYI. I have had or still have Asus, Epox, Abit, Shuttle, MSI, Soltek Nforce2 Mobo's.The fastest ones are the ones with Soundstorm.

One thing to watch is the bundle they include with the card. Some have really good games included others do not. You are at $145 dollars. Plus Nvidia's drivers are always more stable and consistent.
