  5. "sooo many different things." That's not like you, Huhn. You usually give concrete evidence and not something vague like that. And I've never had problems with CS or DoD or any game on the main games list. Most problems come from the Third Party games and those problems are rare and resolved with just restarting Steam. From what I've seen, most of the issues with Steam are minor. If they had done a "semi-decent" job, I would expect to see a lot more people complaining. Too be honest, I think they did a spectacular job. Plus, the netcode for Steam is much better than the old netcode of WON. I haven't noticed any performance drops with my games and I connect and play faster than I did with WON and I'm still using the same computer.

  13. I love VALVe. They're my heroes. I've never had a problem with Steam with the games that VALVe has a hand in. Truth be told, I think the problem may be poor support for Third Party games, since CS or DoD have never crashed on me. Other than that, Steam is flawless, IMO.

Parallax is what Sock said it was. Basically, if you view an object from two different places that don't line up to the object you're looking at, the object will appear different or moved. Such as when you view a nearby object with one eye closed. If you open that eye and close the other and change back and forth, you'll notice that the object seems to move. Each eye gets an individual image.Sig Figs is just short for Significant Figures. A significant figure is any number in the value that isn't 0. "Zero" is a significant figure if it is between two numbers or is beyond the decimal and not just holding a place. 10.001 has 5 significant figures but 1000 only has 1. 12.4 would have 3 sigfigs, 12.04 would have 4, .0012 also has 4. etc etc.Basically, when you're given a number and you use it to make computations, you don't give it more sig figs than what you started with. Say you have a value of 3.56 N and 4.2 N. In the case of multiplication and division, you take the number with the least amount of sig figs and however many it has, that's how many the answer will have. Although 3.56*4.2 gives you a value of 14.952, only two of those numbers are significant. Your answer would be 15, since you round up. With addition and subtraction, you line up the decimal points and use the number with the least amount of decimal places to set the number of sigfigs. So, 2.58 + 3.007 equals 5.587, but with sigfigs the answer would be 5.59.Accuracy: The ability of a measurement to match the actual value of the quantity being measured. In mathematics, it is How close to the real value a measurement is.Precision: The number of significant digits to which a value has been reliably measured.

So yeah, David, so simple you can explain it, right?
  19. No problems for me either. Seems like a decent release. Then again, I don't have a 64-bit processor, so it doesn't matter what I say.
  20. Well, last time I checked, Battle Royale was a live-action movie. It was pretty sweet though. If you like the idea of making high schoolers kill each other to find out which one is worth keeping alive, then yeah, it's great.
  21. Just some security fixes. A firewall and some other stuff.
  22. Yay?
  23. Never fear! Nothing to worry about fellas. We'll still be here Friday playing games and posting in this forum. 8)
