true, however you can't have dc .7 and dc final installed at the same time. (without duplicating the dc .7 folder)

its not a minimod its an update to DC. Many weapons have been reskinned. The RPG/SMAW now work as they do IRL. U dont have to aim 50 feet above someone 20 yards away from you. It actually is a Rocket Propelled Grenade now. It will fly with a very small arc for a good distance. The sounds have all been redone. The RPG sounds like a rocket taking off. Its a great update. The vehicles respond a bit nicer according to some but I haven't noticed. There are alot more particle effects when ordinance is fired/contacts target.

I toyed around with it one afternoon. Its impressive for a console game. I know a guy that is pretty obsessed with it but then again he likes WoW.

EQ/EQII arent really games. More of an online world/universe/life. They are stressful and everything has long term consequences/benefits. Firearms was my stress reliever when I was playing EQ. EQ is the absolute extreme of PvE. It takes way too long to explain. Killing a mob that quads for 1/2 your best tanks HP and has an AE that will wipe the entire raid every few seconds is quite challenging...even with a max raid force of 72 players. I don't like direct PvP because it brings out the "counter-strike mentality." EQ is based on guilds. If you want to get anywhere you must be an efficient force. The player flag system prevents players from being able to access end-game content without progressing through the lower and middle content first. When I walked up to someone in EQ1 there was no question in that player's mind that they were staring at one of the top paladins on the server. People knew what most of my gear was, and they knew where it came from. That brought about a great ammount of respect. It was that way for everyone in the guild. You work hard for eachother and in the end you've got one uber bunch of folks who know how to work with eachother. By the time you start farming the end-game more content will be released.Like I said they are 2 completely different games and should not even be in the same category. They appeal to completely different types of players. I suspect some EQ players will be sick of the drama from EQ1 and will more to the more relaxed WoW world. I suspect some WC fans will also feel WoW is too small and move to EQII. Neither game is better so to speak. Its all preference.

nich, WoW's forced teams are kinda poopy IMO. As for EQII's graphics, at release no system on the market will be capable of running at max graphic settings. You haven't seen ANY screenshots from the new particle engine unless you've played beta, and you haven't. EQ was and still is the most popular MMORPG in existance. I expect EQII will dominate as well. Repo, I totally agree with you. For the Diablo II/Lineage/DAoC type player WoW will be the greatest thing since sliced bread. EverQuest has been and will continue to be in a league of its own so it isn't really fair to compare the two. Anyone who does chose to play however will be instantly accepted as an app w/o votes to my guild for trial. I wasn't dissing WoW its just not my thing. Its too much of a "game." I don't want to play I want to conquer.

In case you missed my name change...this is Spydir.I bet I get flamed for this but here goes anyway.I will definately Not be playing World of Warcraft. WoW is for less experienced MMORPG gamers. It is built to function on a much smaller scale than EverQuest II. Optimal hunting parties in WoW consist of 4 players or so compared to 6 for EverQuest II. WoW feels like a MMO Diablo II combined with DAoC. The game world itself is much smaller than EverQuest II. Levels come much quicker and equipment as well. WoW lacks the aspects of gaming I play for. There is virtually no end-game. I will be playing EverQuest II. I will be leading a Freeport based end-game guild. Our focus will be locating, evaluating, and overcoming the game's massive ammounts of end-game content (raids, instanced encounters, serverwide quests, guild prestige, iPvP, etc). I played EverQuest II for almost 5 years. I have a lot of experience leading raids. I have played WoW alpha and I have no desire to play it retail. Sony has created a type of gameplay which cannot be replicated. World of Warcraft will appeal to those players who cannot or choose not to come home and dedicate 6+ solid hours to playing....Every Day. If you fall into that category then I think you will definately enjoy WoW. Words do not describe Everquest. The scripted events and character flagging progression system brings about so much guild competition and a desire to push foward. It isn't a game. It is a way of life. If you want to come home and hop online with 50 of your guildies and wait for the broadcast from your leader/raid officer telling you whats going down that evening then play EverQuest II. Finding out that a mob (thats on a 3 day +-4 hour spawn timer) is up tonight and that killing it means your character will be able to access 4 new zones, better armor, harder mobs, etc is invigorating. Watching the main tanks HP jump from 10% to 100% as the target beats away at him knowing that a single second of delay by one of the enchanters casting Rune on him could cause the entire raid force to wipe is exhilarating. If a cleric misses his spot in the heal rotation, everyone might die. You spent the last 2 hours killing clearing trash mobs, killing trigger mobs at just the right time, going over the strategy, prepping and finally engaging the mob.
