It's part of the game. It's part of stratagy. If you can keep them pinned down, then they can't take flags. Do I like when it happens to me, no, but, it's part of the game. I generally won't spend much time on a main if other flags are still needing capping, but, I'm not opposed to it, and, if we own all flags, then you can bet your arse I'm headed to the main, unless a certain spawn needs some defending. It's also map dependant on what I do. But in short, it's part of the game, and if you can't deal with, maybe you should think about another game, because it's been part every battlefield series game. It's there, deal with it, use it. TFD

In case anyone didn't know, www.bf2tracker.com offers a way for you to create your own custom stat sigs. Unlike the sig in mine, and many others, it is a whole lot easier to customize (less coding to have to know), but is a bit more limited. Give it time, their account servers have been overwhelmed, my guess is that all will be well soon. Personally, no issues here with the patch, and with the limited time I had last night to play, liked most of what I saw. TFD

Well, I was on the server a good bit last night, and it stayed pretty full through 2 rounds of the cycle, and they were all pretty good battles until 10 pm. I say leave it as is.. :peace: TFD

No, would be on an unranked FF off server. Haven't watched the video yet, but pretty sure I know what your talking about, and there has been several movies made where they turn off friendly fire, and launch the vehicles using hills and c4.. TFD

Well, I use Norton Antivirus and have never had an infection either, and I don't see a performance hit either (or at least not much of one). I shut it down for gaming too. Also note, I only use the Norton Antvirus, not the Internet securities which I would agree, is a BIG system hog. As to the comments that AV protection is not needed... I agree, the best defense is your brain, problem is, most don't have one when it comes to this. I feel confident that I could get by without it, but with other family members and kids, along with the possiblity of website born and accidental infections, it's not worth it. It only takes once to completely wreck years of information, and potentially (although not as common) hardware damage (ie. ruining harddrives). I personally will not recommend someone not using some sort of antivirus, as to free or not, you get what you pay for. I always recommend to my clients Norton Antivirus (not internet securities). Not all that long ago, there was a major bust on the interstate right outside of where I live. A vehicle enforcement officer for the Illinois State Police stopped a Semi do to a cracked windshield, and upon further vehicle inspection, found that the contents of the trailer, which was nearly full, was mary jane, and crack. About half and half I think. Driver said it was bound for Chicago (this stop was in central Illinois). The driver cooperated with the drug task force, and the truck was delivered to the buyer, and several more arrests were made in Chicago... :o TFD

Well, its official, our group is leaving tomorrow. I got stuck on the second crew though, so I won't be leaving just yet. We're on a 14 day rotation, so, in all likely hood, I'll be heading down in about two weeks. They asked us for engines, so we're also taking one down there, and our first responsiblity will be putting out fires.. Apparently, most, if not all of NO's fire engines are not equipped, and the men, not trained, in the principle of drafting. Saw an interview on the TV today, a fireman from down there, standing on his truck, saying he had no water supply to fight the fires with, this while the water in the street was lapping up against the running boards on his truck.. TFD

With the patch, I don't think you can lock ranked servers. You can however admin them, and kick/ban those who don't play like you want them too. TFD

The problem I have is, its a Ranked server, and is supposed to be available to anyone to play on. In most of those cases, if I whipped out an assault rifle and plugged ya' while you were trying to knife me, then I would get banned from the server. That ain't right. Get an unranked server and do your little knife fights, oh wait, then you wouldn't get to abnormally inflate your knife and revive scores... Thats my point. I play the game to play, not go for specific rewards. If I get an award/medal, great, but I earned it honestly, without help. If you're in a server with a bunch of people slinging around knifes, of course, it's going to be easier to get knife kills, or whatever the server is after trying to get. Me, I say, don't bring a knife to a gun fight.. TFD

Well, I saw State last night playing BF2, so I would think he's not too bad off... Don't know about Marshal. Whether your able to or not, its still nice that you're willing to go help. My search and rescue team is still on 24 hour standby, we were notified early yesterday to get ready to go, then told to stand down because they had more national guard troops coming in... Playing the hurry up and wait game now.. TFD

I've made my feelings known in another thread in regards to these servers, sounds like EA agrees with me. Here's an email sent to Ranked server providers (taken from www.totalbf2.com website): Hi Guys, We have noticed an increase in behavior where leased servers are being used by clans solely to pad players stats, even to the extent where clans are institutionalizing rules that forbid normal play. Currently the favored method is for player admins to set rules where players must use either a knife or Pistol, players must revive each other, and players must not take flags. This creates environments where players gain stats unrealistically and creates an imbalance in the ranked server playing field. In our opinion, these players are breaking EA's Terms of Service, and we have begun taking action on the clans involved. However, clan coordination to this extreme requires us to create a long-term solution for this (separate from any scoring changes in 1.03). As a group, Ranked Partners included, we need to work together to aggressively crack down on any server that is found to be promoting stats exploiting in order to maintain the integrity of the stats system. The following steps will be taken each time we locate a server exploiting through enforced admin rules: 1. Customer support will strip the stats from those caught on the server at the time of discovery and anyone sharing a clan tag with the offenders that seem to have any anomalous stats. 2. We will contact the Trusted Partner who has leased the instance in question to the offending clan and request that the clan is immediately moved over to a non-Ranked server. This clan should not be given an opportunity to lease another Ranked Server from said partner, as they have too many avenues of coordinating exploitative actions. 3. If said clan continues to have access to a Ranked server, we will be removing the IP of offending server from the validated list shortly after contacting the Ranked Partner connected with them. Please keep in mind we are not holding the hosting partner responsible for the actions of these clients. Also note that the tools we need to employ if we reach step 3 may impact other clients you are hosting. Because of this, we do ask that each partner works to ensure that clans/groups that engage in this behavior are removed from your clientele. We have 'busted' a few servers already and those partners have been exceptional in their response to correct the errant behavior. Notify your clients that if they are running their servers in the manner described above or in any manner which could be questionable that they must cease such actions and run pure servers. Please forward any reasonable questions your clients have to me, off list, and I will reply. TFD
