  1. Modified choke and laser light makes this usable again. Too bad you need 90 kills to get to those. Oh well, bring on the frags
  2. I've found that shotgun damage is a lot less at any kind of range (>5m) but then again I don't have my usual repertoire of accessories purchased yet. At one point I literally shot somebody square in the back as I was chasing after him and it took 7 on-aim shots to get the kill. I'll let you know in 30 more kills whether it's just a round type/accessories thing. I'm not seeing my DART rounds
  3. I'm sure nobody cares but I'm proud http://i.imgur.com/VgkDYGj.png Hawk 12G / Full Choke / 12G DART / PRISMA 3.4X Since the round usually splits up about the size of the torso I think this only worked because I could only see the dude's head and I shot above him.
  4. I'm a fan of the feature, I just think at 10 players it is mostly the regulars shooting the shit and playing casually while the server fills up, and then the conversation halts when teams are split into two sets of 5 or less. I would actually add an option for 12 which would mean there's a full squad and an extra player on each side. Only at that point does it become necessary to coordinate across squads. Probably overthinking it. I just noticed when that 10th player joins it seems too soon.
  5. I'll probably be on more like 5AM. I'll have to be quiet on TS though
  6. Go go 15. I think 10 is too small since it can just be some of the regulars on wanting to chit chat before the server fills up.
  7. Judging by your epic shotgun run in the Zavod crypts, it works. Edit: Oh wait, it just came today? You're going to get better? GAAAHHH http://i.imgur.com/KrtWD6R.gif
  8. These guys are badasses! Salient points: SIM cards are tiny computers that can run code, and are controlled by the carriers (and hackers) You can brute force the private key on 25% of provider-issued SIM cards and install apps (need the SIM card...maybe) The key uses a way old standard (DES) You can use the Android emulator to support this, so if someone gets your SIM card they can probably get the key within a couple days Carriers probably use a shared key for broadcast messages (weather alerts, etc), so it's possible getting this key unlocks a bunch of phones You can send SMS commands to phones once unlocked to install apps SIM card apps can do things directly with the network without the phone knowing Speakers do shots with the organizers on stage at DEFCON Also http://i.imgur.com/76uexDA.png
  9. Custom mini map thing seems unnecessary but hardly a breaking point. Is that somehow more fun?
  10. Okee doke. Need $$ to fund the new one?
  11. I still see this after a few hours, and it's only fixed when I reboot my computer. Gah.
  12. For the core game, there's apparently a return policy. So you might as well play with us when it comes out, and if it sucks return it. I didn't look into the details though.
  13. Hmm, might have to get EA Access and play that on XBOne
  14. When will it be available so I can preorder it? LOL!
  15. I'm excited about Crosshair mode. Reminds me of America's Army.
  16. Epic questing in BF4. Love it.
  17. The beta looked pretty solid to me. Granted it was just a couple of maps, but it worked.
  18. I'll be the idiot with a riot shield and shotgun. See you there!
  19. Thanks, that's a good'n. In practice, I'm not seeing any process using the RAM. I guess that's what a memory leak is
  20. After I play BF4 for a few hours, I get up to 97% of the 24GB of RAM in my computer. Task manager shows that BF4 is taking 1GB. So, something's going wrong. Does anyone know of a memory leak in TS3, Overwatch, Origin, or anything like that? Also what is a good program for finding out what's really eating up the RAM? Something from sysinternals maybe. I'm not seeing this with other games.

Anybody looked into Titanfall? Microsoft's pushing it pretty hard, but not sure how it compares to BF4. On the surface it seems a little like Battlefield 2142
  22. I have this Intel one with an external antenna that works well http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16833106135
  23. Update was only pulled for Windows RT, and it's back up. I've been using it for a few months and it works well for most things. I couldn't get Ghost Recon Online to work well, but I think it was because they never claimed Windows 8 support. 8.1 adds boot directly to desktop and a new start button (right click to bring up admin settings). For people into those kinds of things.
