  1. Hmm, I may be wrong there. I didn't know proximity healing didn't get you healing points. It definately does repair the vehicle, but I haven't noticed if you earn points or not. Repairing destroyed artillery and comm structures definately does earn you points, as does repairing vehicles with your wrench as long as there is a teammate in it.
  2. Yes to comm structures and artillery. Those are the easiest ones. I get a lot of points following armor around in an FAV or LAV. Get close to the left or right (preferably opposite where they are getting shot from) and repair while you drive.
  3. What ever happened to this scrim idea?
  4. It's possible, I've seen full squads from other clans together. It just takes a little patience to get everybody in the game and on the same side.
  5. What the crap? Did I just waste my Lance Corporal unlock on a gun that everybody has now?
  6. If I hadn't gotten banned a few times, I'd be top 10
  7. One time Mac and his kids were trying to kill me while I was commander and guarding the artillery pieces with a T-90. I called artillery near where they were coming in, and charged at Mac in his Abrams, causing him to back up into my artillery. The arty blew him up and took a few of his kids with it.
  8. First off, I haven't created games myself, but I use Visual Studio every day. You can buy one of the Visual Studio .NET products (Visual C#.NET 2003 or Visual Basic.NET 2003 for under $100). These are fully functional minus some server-side enhancements and enterprise development junk that you probably wouldn't miss for game development. You could then (theoretically) program a game using the DirectX Software Development Kit (SDK). In fact, for no money you can develop windows programs using SharpDevelop, although I'm not sure of the DirectX support (it's open source so it's probably been considered at least). I would recommend you start by learning the syntax of C# then picking up a book on game programming like maybe this one - not a recommendation just the first one I've found. There are also some examples on the DirectX link I listed above. Generally speaking, if you look to the open source community for examples and code, you can probably get away without using illegal software. Most of the open source game programming stuff you will find will likely be in C++, but open source is growing rapidly in .NET so you can probably find enough information on that side for free as well. Good luck!

Hey I think I noticed you're ranked in the top 40 or something with the shotgun. Neato!
  10. That is the absolute worst song ever created. What are you talking about?

    Did ya play the demo?
  12. I ain't losin my stats... you try! :peace:
  13. Read something (probably on here) about you can't have certain CD copy software on your systems... that's about the only thing I could think of. Normally I would say ask Mac... :peace:

It looks like you have some issues other than a faulty game ...
  15. Excellent points SirCamp. I have great hope that the mod tools will create something that will make this engine really shine. Edit: Even if it can let the mod community drive bugfixes and enhancements faster than EA can produce them.
  16. SRT can pull together 6, either for another scrim or to piggyback off of this'n. Maybe the other team can bring another group in with them and it can be 2 clans versus 2 clans... that'd be fun.
  17. LOL. Sure is. Send the other $50 to TAC.
  18. DH, it should save your stats. The python script sends em up when you exit, even if it's a hard one on the client. Unless the server crashed...
  19. Hmm, it's a big city but I'm pretty sure there's just one time zone :-)

    Awesome. Thanks Gator.
  21. Yup, there sure are problems. But it's still the best game in its genre ever created. Be sure to stop by the BF2 Tracker. If you played AA, this is just like AAtracker (created by same group). It tracks stats across all servers whether they are "ranked" or not, based on querying each server's gamespy port. Not perfect, but it worked pretty well with AA.

This has happened to me as well. I was also trying to talk to Cleatus... coincidence?

I've seen the prima guide... it's not super informative about what it takes to get awards, but talks in general terms. Like to get a gold star you need excellent combat effectiveness or something. I would probably just wait until an "unofficial" one comes out, as I bet somebody can do a better job saying 'to get this you need X kills, X repairs, etc' There is a thread on totalbf2.com about the battle recorder. I haven't read it but I think they made it a sticky so it may tell you what you need.
  24. And/or leave the stupid thing in the drive. Is it that hard?
