Thanks for the invite. My 13 yr/old loves CS and somewhat CSS. I've told him and the other sons they are welcome to join TAC if they can be sure of always "biting their tongue" and playing respectfully fair. He is having fun with his own CS server for now.

I hoped in past to be able to do more ... TigerHawk knows and left ... I got half and helped y'all a bit... I stand by TAC in supporting good thinking ... I could try to supply a spare pc=2.4ghz on the same Shaw High Speed 3-IP account I have ... meaning... I paying legitimately for 3 pcs = 3 ips = $60/3 ips @ up to 200/kbps speed... It's been good. Can't complain. Downloads are very fast with the boost that Shaw gives. Sincerely, Hoooogan ;-)

I as some or most of us, can be free on weekends, working 4-12 mon-fri. With enough advance consideration for us all, we might get decent comitment for turnout. So I propose in poll, attached, who is interested in doing FA1 in coming week or two or three ? Complication is ... I seem to recall from not too distant attempt, that even the old FA1, 3.0, as Klink pointed out, needs Steam software installed and registered for free, to run and access FA servers online that are even free... unlike yrs ago ... However, anyone got more to add here ? I suspect, it's possible, atleast with permission from FA owner, or not, to run our own server for it for few days only ... We may just need private SC or Admin advertised IP of someone privately able to offer it with their fast pc ... Anyway, I gotta go sleep soon, so any further ideas and changes to my poll are welcome ... Best I could offer at this time is a 2.4 dual core Intel on extreme high speed shaw internet equal to maybe as high as 200/kbs... All suggestions and correcions are welcome. :thumbsup: I have always saluted the original creators of FA ... I hope we can maybe find way for legal permission from someone appropriate to try it on our own if not thru STEAM, seems worhtwhile to them as if it stirs up enough enjoyment, the old attraction is back to make them money ... Using that old half life 1 engine, FA1 had mega flexibility ... almost anyone could try their own maps ... custom sprays could be added to spray on walls, like of "TigerHawk" , yest, I did, she knew, few knew though ... they were fun much laughing times for her and me and Gator and the rest of us around at the time ... custom audio ability too ... like "you can't touch this ... " added salt to wounds for a laugh ... Games were so much fun then, with many customizations available ... Negative, I got Klink and others, often, with practiced aim of M79, GREAT FUN AND HARD AT LONG DISTANCE, use medium armor to get UZI for close range surprises ... what made it fun to me though was the custom sprays on walls with Tigerhawk in them ... ... plus the custom audio clips ... for a laugh ... like "you can't touch this ..." ... many ways to have laughs and play for fun then ... since then games seem to me to have gotten to serious for gaming ... :thumbsup: Roger that Some of us will always be here, part-time atleast. As to points here in thread, you and I and our trusted sc and admins are entrusted with thinking before they react or speak possibly unintentionally stupidly... Maturity takes time for some ... thanks to TAC, some our forced to think before they speak or joke ... as not all will see same humor attempts from some ... Anyway, your input like "Kol_Klinks" is missed ... it was usually reasonably based ... I just moved ... So been busy ... I wish y'all "good" "choices" ... Think before you speak or react ... take time outs ... don't take little stuff too seriously ... Help promote "growing up" in TAC in nice "food for thought ways" ... More admins as I always said long ago, even if they have a life, means more possible trusted and proven over time people that will be there off and on to help out ... Good grief... thanks all for your attempts to help or humor ... I have learned that when the auto-tranny has trouble upshifting gears, it's as simple as tranny fluid is low. Sure, after checking that level with the dipstick that requires motor idling and level, also smell the fluid off the stick ... if it has burnt smell, it is burnt ... needs a shop to drop pan, flush tranny, change filter that's inside it which may be blocked, check belts or chains tensions, etc ... realize that an automatic transmission works as hard if not harder then the engine ... so it should be changed in my opinion, atleast yrly or two at most, depending on how hard you work it ... highways, hills, work them hard ... city light gas pressure, no hard accelerating, is easier on them ... baby your vehicle and it goes longer ... if you work it hard with gas or hills/highway speeds ... check and change more often all vital fluids and filters. this is why i prefer gauges to show me everything possible ... such as oil pressure, temperature, voltmeter, ampmeter, etc ... when you understand what they all mean, you can see a problem before it becomes a major problem ... if your engine dies abruptly, it's electrical ... check wires and connections to coil ... if it has been sputtering ... carb mixture, air filter, gas filter, timing, etc ... try www.automotiveforums.com ... learn your vehicle and always carry atleast 2 vice grips tools, duct tape, spare 4 lts premixed coolant, few lts oil, spare ring clamps for rad hoses that may wear out ... spare power steer fluid ... those hoses get high pressure too ... but usually blow at ends ... so you can cut with knife the blown end, with multibit screwdriver, remove clamp, cut hose, reclamp ... if hose will reach without tension from engine movement ;-) so try to have spare hoses for everything, and enough fluids ... and you'll never be stranded ... what I've learned from experience which we respect here. :) if coolant leak, let engine cool off, refill with anything possible, DO NOT LOCK RAD CAP BACK ON ... this will allow pressure of heatup to blow out possible minor hose or clamp leak ... just look at all hoses and determine where leak is ... with full rad and intact big lower and upper rad hoses, leaking or not, you can maitain decent engine temp until coolant level drops too much ... hence the importance of gauges to see gradual changes ... idiot lights come on too late to prevent damage sometimes, not worth the risk in my opinion. Yes, I've learned a lot over the years, about much. I'll gladly share it with you when I have the time. Otherwise, try here with "search" option for pc or game stuff ... try "google" or whatever on net for other concerns. Sincerely, Hogan.

Hard as it may be, it's important, for your Grandfather as well as your future feelings of yourself, that you see him reasonbaly often with a positive attitude. Say or offer checkers, anything to give you both somethign to do, chat with such. Reminise a bit, good memories, make him feel happier from he likely feeling. It's tough and scary. Been there, done that. Hit 3 highest color sevens in vegas once. Took that cash and traded up from "Chevette" to "Corvette". Found long flat deserted highway, turned around and floored it. The gee force was with me. :thumbsup: 0 > 60 in about 2 seconds ... 120 few secs later ... then those darn wild donkeys appeared ... managed to gently swerve and avoid ... then those dagnibbit wascily rabbits appeared ... jeez !! ... yes I slowly swerved to avoid them too ... then it was mice ... yep, carefully moved over to avoid them too ... I respect all life if I can safely reasonbly do so. Free time is often the biggest problem when one has this and that to consider doing, others asking for this and that, days off are not like days off. Butt, I still ticking, just got to manage everything better and admit I need time for me too. That one of many reasons I support TAC, it has been in past my "escape", lol. Sincerely, Hogan.

thanks for sharing that. it stirred up some past memories of doing that myself. what a laugh it was. i'm enjoying the memory of the 2 teams with big 3 foot grass field beside big dense forest ... 6/team ... i was last one ... went prone on edge of field beside forest where our flag was ... just me and 4 of them left ... could have enjoyed tunes but needed to hear, lol ... they got close to my flag so i opened up in spurts with my big conatiner machine gun fire gun ... they were close like 20 feet ... they all moved towards me ... shots landing left and right of me since they could not see me in long grass, lol ... but they got within 10 feet so i started rolling and shooting ... i managed while doing that to take out 3 of the 4 until their last one got me in the face shiled ... lol ... it was a great adreniline rush ... I haven't felt that since FA or BFV days that had the humor element in the game. Sincerely, doing okay, missing my woman Kat, who will be back after 2 weeks of very successful surgery, sunday ... no blood loss, amazing, great surgeon ... bored as hell here, lol, tried getting into games, couldn't always do it or have time when people where playing. Usually pains not known to be from physical impact, or stressful thinking as in headaches, are by constricted blood vessels, causing atleast partial if not total clot blockage in artery or vein somewhere ... Physical stress, mental stress (worrying too much), can lead to clots anywhere but usually in brain, with many small ones, or lungs, or heart. Pains are warning to stop what you're doing ... I feel, asap take in water, asperin which helps dissolve clots, rumor is that warm water is better then cold, becasue cold can add to solidifying of fats and oils in bloddstream ... healthier longer lasting people such as Japenese, prefer healthy antioxidant rich teas with their meals ;-) So, if you're hot, try to relax, drink room temperature water. Asperin proven to reduce clot risk. Meassure pulse and temperature and pressure. Devices are cheap now that take all those readings. Get one if you have any reason to need to know. I salute you on all you do and try to do. Saying COD is twice the game FA was is correct from many viewpoints. Games to me over the years have seemed to get more serious, less ways of offering or having smiles, if not laughs. Like the personal sprays and audio clips allowed with FA or other Half-Life games. Klink and I got addicted "in the beginning", by the humor of Duke Nukem maps. Remember the "Red Light District" ? lol Then it started getting less fun with later games. Then I found TAC, told him about the add-ons mentioned above by TAC members, which I checked out, that made Firearms or other Half-Life 1 add-ons, fun. He was sold. We had many laughs. We got addicted to the complicated pregame choices of credits to use to buy armor and weapons. once in game, it was not complicated. not much to remember. just use team voice or txt to advise enemy whereabouts and strength. If I recall correctly, the screen or audio taunts, custom or default, could be sent to all or just team. We are all different in what we prefer in a game. I just found the fun and laughs element meant more to me then more and more seriousiousness and keys to try to remember. Ventrillo was an option I tried for above reason, but I found with past games, there was squad talk, team talk, commander talk, plus ventrillo talk ... it was like trying to drive my city bus in heavy traffic with people constantly asking me questions I had to think about to asnwer, lol. I respect different viewpoints of all. Yours ofcourse gets my vote. It's a balance of good choices before game, with what you go in with, then how much you have to think of doing, remembering, choosing, hearing. BF2: Vietnam briught some "fun" back for me with the old classic audio tunes of the times, useable from vehicles and air. I wished we could have had portable players on the field, lol. I'll have to learn COD4 some more I. Haven't found the time for much online play yet. Went thru much of the single player "demo" someone here directed me to, thanks. Was good. Few if any laughs or smiles though. :thumbsup: Okay all, is there ways to add custom audio, if not sprays, to current games in use ? I think, although I do seem to have worse and worse memory, , the last big laugh I had, was in TAC BFV... Gator trying to find me prone and hidden guarding flag, many members on chopper he flying, music he had blaring, heard him coming mile away, lol, I stayed down until I heard he right there, fired rocket grenade in his windshield, took about 5 of them out. Also jus tried uninstallung fa 3.0, rebooting, reinstalled 2.9 from yrs/old cd ... it still connects to "Steam". The "mother" of our monopoly worries, maybe. Like Microsoft and pcs, or "Exxon" and gasoline. We need to keep compitetion to be sure of decent pricing. otherwise, no choice what you pay for stuff. I have older fa cd backups i'll try shortly. anyone find way to run FA old version that doesn't kick in "Steam" or way around it, let me know. I remember I had that installed and working couple yrs ago. But that was a different pc. I think I paid through Steam and installed it. I have more then one Steam acct active. The Steam I'm using in my new pc since 1.5 yrs/ago, doesn't show SF. Nor can I find it anywhere. Opinions ? I'll try other old steam accts maybe to see if it shows up as downloadable ? Not sure what to do here.

I hope the "fun" can be found again in some new game or allowed addon, after many new games that just get more and more serious, which in short time is less fun.
