  1. Without getting ahead of myself, I feel the consensus is to uphold the ban. I agree wholeheartedly, the reasoning behind it was to try and avoid yet another instance of this. The word filter would be fine by me...... some words warn, some kick, some ban. My point with the warning was that we avoid this kind of scenario again. If they have been informed of our rules or warned for their behavior, yet still break our code of conduct on racism, then the ban will not be appealed. If they try, as an admin the only response is "there are no appeals for racist behavior'. No long drawn out debates, no accusations of being unprofessional - just a straight forward answer and back to gaming. Considering the length of my previous post, I guess that makes it my 3 cents  .
  2. Well, considering we have a zero tolerance for racism, the initial ban was implemented correctly. However, we do not have zero tolerance towards stupidity. If we did, I would have been banned a long time ago! I am not suggesting ExpandDong is stupid, just the question he asked which resulted in the ban, was stupid. Personally, I am against any form of racism and I am very much for the zero tolerance stand we take. I also know what it's like to be frustrated, and that can cause unusual remarks/actions. To have just been banned earlier for similar reasons however, does seem to show a behavioral trend which is not inline with the environment we are trying to promote here at TAC. I could possibly have been persuaded to lift the ban had there not been previous history of racial remarks. Also, being argumentative towards an admin, even though he felt he was being disrespected, is not the way to reverse a ban. Personally, I would have gone for the respectfully apologetic approach, regardless of how I felt I was being spoken to. We want the server populated, but not at the expense of our values. I say keep the ban enforced and keep an open mind when Battlefield 5 comes around. People can change.... sometimes they just need time to do it. Is there a way to make it even clearer that we have a zero tolerance for racism? Is it possible to have a big center screen message for each individual who joins the server saying something like "We have zero tolerance for racism." We don't want the 'big' messages displaying every 2 minutes etc, but just once, every time an individual (and only for that individual) joins the server.
  3. I noticed a little bit of lag on Lost Islands and the server performance icon popping up consistently between yellow and orange last night. This is a water intensive map, and as such, puts the server under more stress. To my knowledge, DICE have still not released a fix for this on 60Hz servers but have identified it as being an issue and are testing the fix on the CTE. Hopefully the impending patch will rectify this. The problem is only noticeable once the server nears full capacity on a water intensive map (from my experience so far). I also think that for some, the lag or slight degradation in performance, is more noticeable because the server has been running so smoothly. Any interruption to that is very obvious especially if the warning icons are showing too. Maybe people with higher end systems notice less difference, maybe not. I know I have one of the lowest end systems in the clan and I notice once the server reaches the 'threshold'. I believe it is still playable, but would welcome a fix very soon! I also think it would be the same on any equivalent server too, because it is the texture on the water maps causing the issue and not the server. Maybe a second core would help this but with a potential fix being just around the corner, is it worth the outlay?
  4. I am sure most of you are aware we have a new server. Some of you haven't had the pleasure of trying it yet, but believe me, as the server lets you know, it is '60Hz of gaming bliss'. What some of you may not be aware of, is the amount of work that goes in to setting up a new server. The amount of time, effort, and telephone calls/support tickets that have been sent recently are more than you would imagine. The stress of changing servers, to have it crash several times, having spent all this time and effort setting it up, is the epitome of frustration. There have been several contributors to this process, which I feel deserve special mention. RogueSteward - when he has been available, has spent time searching the internet looking for alternative servers and helping test the new server. Axlerod - As usual, Axle has been available as much as possible. His experience of server admin has been a great help in ensuring the new server runs as smoothly as it does. He has also been a leading force in trying to get the server populated and back on everyone's favorites list. However, perhaps his biggest contribution has been his constant and incessant whining about having a 64 player 60Hz server! We had to place a virus on his computer to mess with his audio / TeamSpeak to give us some respite, but to no avail. Gatornade - without doubt, the person who has been the biggest influence and main reason we are now enjoying '60Hz of gaming bliss'. The hours of configuring the server, testing the server, resolving issues, issuing admin rights etc., etc., etc. While most of us were sitting down to Thanksgiving lunch/dinner, Gator was feverishly working on the server, ensuring it was ready for the 'evening crowd' to enjoy. The crowd didn't turn up - more due to Thanksgiving than server relocation - but it was there and available to enjoy if you wanted to. The effort is truly more than we really know, which is why I wanted to raise peoples awareness and appreciation for what Gator does for the clan. Even after 13 years of doing this, his passion for gaming, his passion for improving the clan, and his passion for making sure we, as a clan, are as tech savvy as the Jones', is as strong as ever. Donators - without people donating their hard earned money, none of this would be possible. So a big thank you goes out to all of you too! I would encourage you all to offer your appreciation in the comments below. However, there is one more thing we, as a clan, can do. I understand that this time of year has more time commitments than most, but would ask that to show your appreciation to the guys above by making every effort to try and get on the server in the evening so we can really test it at capacity. Also, it will let us know if you have any issues yourself that can be resolved. As always, we would have some fun, but also show that the effort put in by the guys above was really worth it. Even if you can only manage 30 minutes or 1 match, your support would be greatly appreciated.
  5. Having considered all the feedback we have received regarding 48 player 60Hz vs 64 player 30Hz, we have rented a server from Fragnet with 64 players at 60Hz. The old server will remain operational for the next 2 weeks or so and will advertise the fact that we have moved. Check out the new server at http://battlelog.battlefield.com/bf4/servers/show/pc/972e048b-4e65-44c2-97fc-bcedcb5bef86/The-Armory-net-TAC-Hardcore-60Hz-All-Maps-Votemap/ and don't forget to make it a favorite! Fine tuning, admin rights etc. will be taken care of in the coming days but if you have any immediate concerns or questions then ask away. Happy gaming and see you on the server!

Nice work Patches! I do see a few flaws in your work. I am willing to let you practice on my 2 bathrooms though, so you can iron out these issues. Considering I am making this sacrifice, I think it only right you pay for materials and your travel here. There is no need to thank me, I would make this offer to anyone who needed my help in this way! By the way.... hope your injections went ok and you get some relief from the pain.
  7. Good job!

I was wondering where you had been - hadn't seen you around for a while. Looks very nice!
  9. Interesting. Thanks for sharing. I have a really old case with limited fan allocation (so lots of dust). The rebuild I plan for the New Year though includes a new case and the filtering idea will get implemented!
  10. According to studies on the subject, statistics are found to be 78% correct in about 53% of cases!
  11. bu11boy, just ask the pharmacy assistant if you could view the children's selection. Saves you having spend money on the tape measure!
  12. I think Claymore Carl reported something about it. Not sure it was Origin though. Either way, credit card fraud appears to be on the rise!
  13. I had a similar thing happen to me about 12 months ago. I used to play Planetside 2 a lot, subscribed for a few months then stopped. I still played but just for free. Well it turned out I stopped but someone else carried on with their SoE game pass. It's a relatively small amount so it took a little while for me to notice it on the statements. Fortunately, the banks fraud department investigated and I got the money back, new card, and no further issues. It's so frustrating when you find out but it's also very difficult to find the source of the information leak. I'm not sure if you know for sure it was Origin where your details were HACKARY'd from but I know the banks fraud department couldn't, or wouldn't tell me for my situation. Either way, I hope you get it all sorted out soon and get a shiny new HACKARY free card.
  14. I have an account but don't use it. My wife uses it for an additional 'friend' in her FB games.
  15. Wow! That sucks. Was it charged to your account (ie W0LFZ3RO) or has someone hacked your details and made a purchase on another account?
  16. When in your squad, we (mainly Drak and I) give you a hard time if you are squad lead for the lack of leadership exhibited. As I am sure you know, we are only messing with you. I gladly squad with you whenever I get the chance. However, the next time you are squad lead and I am in your squad, look at my KDR. It regularly goes way down. I think it's because when I spawn on you, you have just killed someone and you are moving to the next position. The guy you killed buddy's after you but you are 2 steps ahead. I spawn and easy kill for dead guys buddy. I don't have that problemwith Drak. Spawning on Drak (usually on top of a mountain or building) with claymores surrounding every route to him, normally makes for a safe spawn! :signs8:
  17. Thanks to all who have served. U.S. Army, 2009 - 2013
  18. I've said it before, play how you want to... it's a game that's created for fun. So, do what gives you the most enjoyment. We all want to win so we all have the same objective. Slightly different methods but the same goal!
  19. Sadly, I don't know OpenVPN. I have used a couple of VPN's and found TowerVPN to be the best for me. The set up on that was very simple though and didn't take any technical knowledge on my part to get it running...... fortunately!
  20. Bu11boy, believe it or not, the fewer the members, the easier it is to get higher - as long as a good proportion of the members are active. For example, if you and Drak were still sporting your Zs tags, with just 4 members, 3 of them active, you would have a Clan score of approx. 121,000. This dwarves the TAC score of 47,000. Remove you and Drak and put me in there, Zs comes in at a whopping 135,000. I'm not saying I am better than you and Drak combined, but ...... draw your own conclusions :signs8:
  21. Not wishing to hijack 2-Point-O' post but.... If you are in a vehicle with me :- Rule #1 - Get out, run, and save yourself. I am going to die very quickly. Rule #2 - If I am not the driver/pilot - do not consider yourself safe. See Rule #1

I didn't see 'much' weakening of the AA that I was expecting - or mention of the bullet proof glass installed on the choppers. If I understood correctly, it is harder to get a hit on aircraft now (longer lock on times), but when you do, you take more damage - certainly with stingers etc. I do like the engineer ability to equip both AA mines and a launcher now. Some maps you really do need both and with the mines having instant lock on with increased damage, could be more viable than previously. I haven't been able to get the AA mine to fire in the test range yet (it used to) so will see if it works in a proper match. For snipers however, the smoke is a potential major obstacle for them - as long as the powerful zoom scopes don't see through the smoke like they could before. I do like the increased points reward for actually capturing objectives now (up from 150 to 400) and the removal of the marksman bonus for long distance kills. That move in itself seems to indicate DICE recognize a problem exists but I feel they could have done more to tone down the effectiveness and popularity of DMR's and sniper rifles. On a plus point, it looks like shotguns got the range nerf they needed for buckshot!

I just got done reading the notes and you have already linked them! A lot of changes there and some interesting ones. Going to be interesting to see how they pan out.
