Ali bought up a normal server with password protection this weekend for testing. Not sure if anything else was included but def a sign things are moving.

Anything i need to do special other than the install and finding the server?

I went ahead and bought it but have yet to play it. I need to fire it up and get used to it to be sure so you can count on me at some point.

The problem is that the new game modes pretty much rely on rental servers. One would think they would get the servers and the server browser fixed up so that there are servers that can be searched easily and are available for the game modes. I just dont get the logic in that place. It seems that the have no capable project manager in place or that the people pulling the strings have absolutly no gaming exp. whatsoever.

Dunno why they would have done that. You can simply turn off XBox Live stuff on a Windows 10 machine. Its acctually one of the tweaks they suggest for better performance with BF1

I "think" so. Not sure. As we said last night beware the 6700k. There are folks with BeastMode machines running this proc that are having a lot of issues. What i've read is it may be related to the Math Coproc.

What Ding said. Also reading up on what the current "tweaks" can deliver is helpful. I know we discussed this online yesterday but I'm still running a 3770k on a MSI Z77 main board designed for gaming and 16Gb of Ripjaw. Until recently I was using a GTX 660 with 2Gb of RAM and had a couple of issues but not much. Now Im running a GTX 1060 with 4Gb of RAM and my system runs smooth as silk. The only place I ever see a stutter is on the End of Round boars when the battle packs drop. The crate gets a bit jumpy but honestly I just dont care about that and I have no idea why thats animation is buggy when I play at a solid 60-80 FPS during the game.

Just taking a poll in the interest level of TAC having a BF4 server again? I considered opening up one around Christmas time but wanted to talk with Gator and get feedback from the group before doing so. Same settings as before etc etc. A good sized group of us jumped online and played some BF4 the other night and even though I sucked for the first few rounds, yeah BF1 will change how you aim/play for sure, we all had a ball. I still have a lot of interest in BF1 but sometimes the level of asshatery just makes my eyes bleed. Opinions?

funny thing is that BF1 isn't on the list of play anywhere titles for XBox so that tells me that there is a decent difference in the codebase at least for now.
