8 Things Nobody Wants To Admit About Battlefield 1
Pretty much my take however I would argue a couple with ya Rogue: 4. There's Zero Weapon Variety > Ok I agree with that one! > It's the same thing we had in BF4 however due to the time period there just weren't that many weapons floating around. I've heard complaints about the lack of attachments ie scopes etc. There really weren't a lot of standard attachments for these weapons. Im really glad they gave you the option to change optical enhancement. I still see people who cont realize you can go and change the magnification on the scopes on certain weapons. For the time period were dealing with here I think its a fair representation of the available weaponry. I would look for more to be added when the other armies are released in DLC. 3. Levolution Was Better Than Dynamic Weather > Ok, maybe a LITTLE BETTER > Levolution was cool because you could change the environment by destroying terrain features such as the bug building or the smokestacks in Zavod. Virtually everything in this word is destroyable so yeah they had to add something. World wide Levolution plus dynamic weather. I will say I am sick to death of the effin fog though. More rain less fog.

EA Games Are Developed for PCs, Scaled Down for Consoles
Well as far as BF goes It was first designed as a PC only product so one could argue that it is a PC title scaled down for consoles. Honestly I've seen the shift to consoles being the main market so I would say that trend has definately reversed what with whats been going on in BF1.

Other games (not bf)

An Open Letter to Alexander Hassoon, Rent-A-Server Producer
Totally agree. Im just hoping they listen to the community of admins/mods who have been offering, in fact near begging, to aid them in the task. If it were me, I would look at the input and choose a group of the semi literate sounding folks and form a group and have online meetings to discuss things and work on the issues. That's just me though. Not sure if they can legally for liability reasons do that though as these people would then be acting as agents of the company and have to fall under the legal umbrella of DICE / EA. Not sure if a waiver would cover it and of course they people involved would need to sign NDA clauses etc etc. Not sure they would see the expenditure of legal resources worth the return. Who knows. Could add them into the Game Changer program I guess.

Well its plain they are wanting to consolidate the codebase as much as possible when it comes to servers. IMHO this is a mistake and will bite them in the ass in the long run but by then they will have lost any trust and loyalty the PC community may have had for them and that group won't come back. Were a persnickety group to say the least. I understand it makes good sense business wise in the short term but what I'm seeing is a lack of seeing the big picture. PC sales are the smallest segment of the game sales and that is all they see. What they do not take into account is why. With BF4s issues, and the abortion that was Hardline, ok it was fun for a bit but stood no chance of being as big as any of the other BF titles, many and I do mean MANY of the BF players simply opted to hold off on their purchase of BF1 to see how it shook out. They got some sales after what I considered a pretty damned solid launch but there is a whole segment out there who are still in the wait and see mode Yes PC players are older and have disposable income to throw at upgrades, software titles, etc unlike the 500 buck console crowd but were as older players we also are mature enough not to throw cash at everything that comes down the pipe. Titanfall was one that I just didn't like. I played the open beta /Stress test and while it was fun enough I just don't dig Sci Fi shooters so I took a pass on it. Maybe star citizen will change that if it ever gets close enough to release for me to deem it worthy of checking out but I doubt it unless there are people I game with that are playing it. Honestly, THIS is what Alli, et al , need to realize. Player communities make or break the game end of story. I never played BF after I got out of the service due to some PTSD issues and feared it may either trigger them or make them worse. A buddy of mine, former Marine who was in Somalia and Desert Storm, who played BF assured me it wouldn't and got me to try it. It has actually helped me deal with some of my issues so needless to say the players and communities are what makes the game. The title itself is only a platform that those bonds are formed within and once formed they tend to move from title to title as the playing field changes.

'Battlefield 1' Fall Update Brings Hidden PS4/PC Graphics & FPS Downgrade? DICE Responds
Gotta say it worked well on my system. Granted I was still using an old GTX 660 2gb card until I got the GTX 1060 6Gb one and the new monitor but just wow. Im surprised that it when you have it on auto it does not completely clear out the old crap when it detects a new card. Now I have a poser for you. In the graphics settings it has a selection for which monitor you want it to open on and use. Its greyed out on my system. Anyone know how to change this or does it default to the primary display? I mean I can change my primary but I kind of like having the task bar on one of the smaller monitors. Yeah I know I can drag it to another screen but if something gets out of whack then you cant access the taskbar. Just curious.

Opinions on BF1 currently
Keep in mind 76k was average. Peak online yesterday was 98k and xbox had 150k PS4 was the big dog with 170ish. While PC is at the bottom of the heap it still accounts for a substantial dollar figure as well as PC gamers will be more likely to do a rental server as they are the predominant base for clans etc. 76k players represents 3.8 million in base sales not to mention season pass sales etc. Still a market share you don't want to piss off. BF started as a PC game and I don't see that market going anywhere. I also believe there are a LOT of players from BF4 that are in the wait and see camp after the debacles of the BF4 launch. I would expect to see more sales during Christmas and if they get the RSP working as it should even more. I know a good many folks who are in the undecided camp right now waiting for stability /fixes for graphical issues etc.

'Battlefield 1' Fall Update Brings Hidden PS4/PC Graphics & FPS Downgrade? DICE Responds
I'm just gonna go out there and flat out say this is more proof they are consolidating the code base to try and force PC and Console guys on the same code or at least as close as they can get it. PC gamers have way more refined systems and are capable of way more than consoles are. This is one of the reasons PC Gamers and Console GAmers have been segregated since forever. Lets not even get me started on crap like aim assist.

Wewt. May actually be able to play decently now.
Got me new GTX 1060 6gb card and a spankin new 27" monitor today. Gonna jam em in the ole rig tonight and do the driver patch before playing. Gettin old sucks eyes all weak. Gotta pee all the time. Jesus I'm fallin apart.

I blame ADD and parents who let consoles babysit for them. Just my humble opinion. Now get the hell off my damn grass. *Grumpy Old Guy*

I found the clan via the BF4 server. Im my open letter I alluded to this btinging together of players is one of the benefits of a strong Rental Server Program. I hold out hope they will see what people are saying. The only main iasues I have at this point with the game is the way they havr HC set up. It breaks parts of the game ie mortars, aerial combat, etc , you cant ditiguish player sometimes so you either team kill by mistake or die because to take too long second guessing, and they buff weapon damage instead of reducing health which make all siper rifles, and a great many other weapons very OP. As far as the launch goes I was very happy with the lack of issues but it seems their idea of servers is to merge console players and PC into one code base. This will not work. There are reasons these player groups have always been segregated from each other and it is not differences in tech. I have greatly enjoyed my time playing with you guys and hell have even learned to play better so Im here no matter what but I dont feel its the game itself but the addons like servers where we are seeing the most issues. Aside from graphics glitches, which i havent made a call on because i just was notified of the 3rd driver upgrade since launch , I have had less problems with the game itself than most games I have played in the past decade.
