yes, you can, but players will be kicked when the map changes to an NS map. We tried this before as I said, but it did not work.

What size server were you playing on? Those maps are very large. Our city maps server stays populated because we play city maps only, however we could sneak one in and see how it goes. When we deploy our NS server, we can only play NS maps (no mixing). When a vanila map is playing, players enter and start playing, for example. When the map changes, every play who does not have NS will be booted from the server. We tried this before with BF2 pack, and we lost more than half the players on map change.

I found this post during our FA days when we were trying to convert to BF2. Kind id funny to read all the comments at the time, and how things have changed.

They usually release it at 12:00 noon, but I cannot remember which time zone.

I checked also, but no Dice (no pun intended) I have the Northern Strike server running now, and I hope we can play it as soon as it is released. They usually release their expansion packs at 12 noon EST (if I remember correctly).

No, but the size limit was broke for about a day or so, and a few users slid in a couple of oversized sigs.
