Be advised that in order to play this demo players must have DirectX9 installed and should ensure that the d3dx9_29.dll is present in your C:\WINDOWS\system32. We are aware that some players are experiencing disconnects while playing the Demo. Well, for the demo, I gave it an "8". I played the Beta and gave it a "5", so the final product might beat all of our expectations. You won't know the full impact of the game until a few things happen... - The full retail version is released - You play on the many city maps - Get Awards and Ranks - Get Unlocks and new toys - Play on "The Armory" server where we know we will have good performance :thumbsup: - Stab Klink and get his dog tags as many times as humanly possible. I think everyone in the clan should own a pair his Dog Tags So, lets wait and see what happens. We should have a new vote after everyone gets at least 10 hours of play under their belt.

I really like the Beta, and now the Demo. In the Beta, however, we were allowed to "rank-up", and it was nice having the unlocks to play with. It will add a new level when the game is released and we get serious :thumbsup: about playing it. It adds a new dimension to Battlefield, and I look forward to seeing the new maps. Looks like they had a city map or two in the lineup, so I look forward to playing them. The Titan mode seems like it will be the most fun, so we will have to vote as a group to see how run our server. I foresee playing the city maps in the "Conqest" mode, and play the larger open maps ion the "Titan" mode. The in-game buddy system allows us to join our friends without using XFire, because it has the same function. ...very cool! The vehicles are fun, although I get motion sickness in the Walkers, so don't expect to see me riding very often in them. White-Nine found a setting that stops the player movement (swag), so now I can walk without getting sea sick.. We have our own server, so we can play what game we want, and what mode we want. Lets see how it goes, and we can discuss many options. The dog tags after a knife kill are great.

J.C.Moncur had the same problem and did what you did here Mac, and it worked like a champ.

While desperately looking for a BF2142 download link, I stubbled onto this old announce for Battlefield 1942 Demo. Check out the date, and then some of the screen shots.

I read an article that EA has finally purchased DICE. They were major stock holders in DICE last year or so, but now they own it. Here is the new DICE website They also said that 2 hours after they signed the deal, they closed the EA Canada office, and all those folks I guess lost their jobs. EA is a monopoly, and I think the government should intervene.

5 days until "Pre-Load" of purchased game, but you can't play it until release day. Demo is tentitively scheduled for today if you purchased the EA "Pre-Order" Demo for everyone else will be the following day according to sources.

I'm in the process of making new Avatars based off of these images.

Good News Soldiers! Our ISP has decided to allow us to keep our existing server by adding a Ranked BF2142 server addition. Things are looking up, so please stay tuned. Our ISP will be loading the BF2142 server files on release day, so be prepared to play as soon as it is released. The ship date for the game is 17 Oct 2006, with a release expected on 18 Oct 2006. That means we are about 19 days away from propelling our 64-player Special Forces server into the future by converting it to a 64-player BF2142 Server. As always, we will continue to have reserve slots for our members. We also plan to start advertising the transition via our SMS (Spam Messaging System). Be sure to tell members of your squad (regulars) about the move as well. The is going to be great fun, and I look forward to taking as many of your dog tags as I can.
