  1. I don't understand. Why would they do this? Do they really not expect it to do that well that the pre-orders are $20? Is this real? Must be a huge marketing/data collection ploy. Subsidize part of the cost in the hopes to spam marketing ads to customers post purchase.

  3. Nice, now I can see if this old comp can run it.

  5. I was reading a few of the pages below about the unlocks and does anyone know if these are for multiplayer? Like the better vehicle armor and the alternate fire for the tank seem like it would be a little unbalanced for players that didn't have them. http://www.gamedaily.com/games/battlefield-bad-company-2/pc/game-features/battlefield-bad-company-2-digital-pre-orders-offer-six-in-game-unlocks/ http://terminalgamer.com/2010/01/24/bad-company-2-limited-edition-pre-order-available-via-steam/ http://store.steampowered.com/app/5565/

  7. Oh no, my computer is the minimum.
  8. It has dedi servers, so anything can happen.
  9. And to whoever asked a month ago, it does support DirectX 9. No need to upgrade for another year, hurray!
  10. It starting to amaze me how much of a mess they got themselves into. Should we use this as another reason that matchmaking shouldn't be done on PC? Just think how many games are created every day. And since you can't even chose who host it, it could chose the PC with no security. In which case, there could be many computers infected and the users don't even know it! That is a good trojan.
  11. It may support 10, but that would require at least vista wouldn't it? So, yes, need to move on from XP.
  12. For those of you that have caved in and purchased the game, here is a way you can tell what your ping is in game. I'd like to hear what everyone is getting. http://bashandslash.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=795&Itemid=111
  13. It has been almost 4 or 5 years since I upgraded. I guess this is going to push me to do so.
  14. They would be setting their standards low if that is all they did.
  15. I wish they actually cared about my money. They know most comes from consoles. They know that for every copy that does sell on PC will make a profit per copy. In the end they don't really care. Even though they did a few years ago.
  16. They announced the the multiplayer is limited to 9v9 on PC, just like the console. So, if you just like the single player, it will be fine for PC. But, if you do want to play multiplayer just get it for the console.
  17. well, TS3 is supposed to be built completely from the ground up. I can't remember what they coded the previous versions in, but this one is in C+, so they had to redo all of it.
  18. I can get Enterprise from my university for free. Enterprise is just the volume license version of Ultimate.
  19. I am guessing that some people at DICE were interested in playing the PC version of MW2. Now console players are realizing why people play PC games...because PC gets "more features." And that "more features" is just what we expect. (Better resolution, dedicated servers, and, apparently, prone) It is our standard.
  20. Well, maybe if they cared. COD4 only 15% of sales were for PC. If half of them boycotted they wouldn't care. They probably don't even expect for 15% of sales to come from PC this time around.
  21. I don't know if I will buy the game or not now. It makes sense why they are doing it. - Cheaper to produce because they don't have to change much for the PC version. - Limit piracy by forcing the use of DD models like Steam. My biggest problems with these changes is the no dedicated servers. This is probably the biggest change from any other game on PC. L4D, because of how the game has to work, the use of a matchmaking service makes sense, and with L4D there are still dedicated servers so that every player has the best connection. When the dedicated servers aren't working for L4D it is a very painful experience trying to play. From what I have read, MW2 is all listen servers? So I am going to have to deal with someone's residential DSL service? Awesome. I am not sure how many game server hosting companies their are, but this is a real threat to them. Well, I guess this all comes down to the obvious point that of somewhere around 85% of COD4 players were consoles. PC gaming is the least of their concerns anymore. And, if anything, why not just treat the few PCs left like everyone else.
  22. I have a Palm Pre. Much better just because of the ability to multi task. You what they say, once you multi task, you never go...uh...bacsk.
  23. What has really brought down the price of a PC build is the graphics card prices. You can get some really powerful graphics at the $180 price point. Not to mention the amount of performance still available from the Core 2's.
