Torch

It's a dual core chip, so basicly its like having two processors in one. It's a step up from the multiple processor systems that have been around for a while as they fit in the standard AMD64 motherboards. Gaming wise, there's not a lot of advantage because most games can only use one processor at a time. It's more for the high end graphics and audio guys that run multiple programs that can utilize two processors at the same time.

I think they put the CSS server back up, maybe to get it to have good performance they had to reduce the BF2 server size.

I made a pretty lengthy post about this in the FF post, main hall i think. I firmly beleive that you have to allow people to spawn camp when the flags are capped. Do you really expect people to sit around and be completely open to a high powered attack once oyu have the flags? Even when you dont have all the flags capped, its a viable tactic to try and take out their main base which contains the aircraft. In war, people arent gonna stop attacking bases just because its their only place they can go. Theyre gonna push even harder to try and finish the enemy. Correction: That would be the Armory Server forum, not main hall.

Torch<THC> All the other THC guys got it to, and all have our tags. We might pop in the Armory server sometime. Weve just been randomly picking em for now.

Haha, sounds like my parents. I think id be shot if i got anything lower. So maybe try the since Im doing well why does it really matter how much im on the computer approach. Hope it works for ya.

BF2 is definetly a different game than the previous battlefields. Even though the weapons are more powerful, theres body armor to contend with and that realyl seems to make a difference. For me personally, I kinda like how its harder to kill people as it means the better, more accurate shot, will beat the Spray'n'Pray guys. As a whole, I'm loving BF2. I was a huge fan of 42 and Vietnam but I really didnt follow what was going to be coming in features for BF2 so seeing some of the improvements really made me go wow, this is a great move for the Battlefield series. Graphics I like a lot, not quite as good as I was expected but still really nice. However the sound is awesome. Every time I hear a bullet or explosion I go wow that's awesome. And that's on a high-end headset, I cant imagine what a nice set of speakers would sound like thatd be even better. There's just a lot of little things that add up to make a really good demo. It's the little touches like birds or whatever that really make a game go from good to Game of the Year. Whew, that was pretty long too.

How well are you doing in school? You said you're doing pretty well, maybe try using that as a point. If you're doing decent then tell them how it's not impacted your schoolwork. Make it be a kind of reward type thing for doing well. Though it all depends on how you're doing and what your parents think is well. Worked for me, then again i do have a 4.4 gpa and straight As so..... But still, if youre at least doing decent that might work.

Ya, i fly helis with mouse and keyboard and planes with joystick. I just cant seem to turn a plane fast enough with my mouse. I lvoe how they separated the controls in BF2, thats a great feature.

The greater/less than worked fine for me. All of the THC guys have <THC> in their names. Maybe it just cant start the name.

If youre using an ATI graphics card, try downloading and installing the Catalyst 5.1 drivers. Theres some problems with the newer drivers.And yes the demo is amazingly awesome, I played 6 straight hours last night with the THC guys.

Unfortunately, nobody from EA or DICE ever officially said it was coming out on the 10th. One of the EAPLay (Australia site I believe) people said the 10th, not one of the official EA or DICE guys. However I'm still pissed that I'll ahve to wait more days ARGH

Nice find, that definetly explains a lot about why those things happen. Before that last patch I always believed that the hitboxes werent that big of a deal, but after the patch I began questioning them a little. After that I'm back to thinking they're not that bad, that's just the game.

I guess I would probably be thinking one that was kinda semi-related to cs and if you wanted to make a second maybe one that was just out there somewhere. Funny, weird, whatever just something creative.
