I challenge you Klink or anyone to 1 on 1 or co-op 2vs2 or whatever... You were very good at it "in your time", when we alternated between fast shooters and slow chess-like strategy ... How much dust/rust is there ? I see my last recorded rank is August'2005 ... 4000 ... not bad eh ? Even with firewall off, the quick match and quick coop find no one. Custom internet finds servers but they did not in past effect rank. I guess they packed it in rank wise ? Anyone interested in some custom team work in this let us know. You'll see me playing as "cam1959". The longer lasting slower at first buildup and spying/probing and strategy of balance of collecting ore and building defense or offense is a different kind of challenge that i find more like a brain exercise then shooters.

I understand that even on fools day or halloween or it's eve, or just kidding around anytime, some people don't consider enough the possible unwanted negative impact to others from kidding around. They usually mean well but fail to properly weigh the pros and cons. It's actually sad because such pranks have caused heart attacks and loss of life. I googled the game name. Looks nice. I used to enjoy mixing up the shooters with stategies like RA2. I haven't played the still installed RA2 for months. Thanks for the idea. Maybe a new look would be good for awhile. Perhaps I'll look for a demo to download and try.

That interests me since lower res options means I may be able with older hardware to still enjoy gameplay lagfree. Appearance is least concern for me. Looks good. I saw plenty of bushes to conceal me while catching breath.

What is AOE 3 ? Is it a strategy like Red Alert 2 ?

If it pushes higher the hardware requirements, having no really low res option for older pcs, I doubt it. The code for 640 res, or very limited details in 800 res, should be small compared to higher options, so why not include it ? I don't play to admire the scenery. I play to enjoy the game.

Thanks Gator for the compliance and what now seems a waste of time. After few hrs of searching ea and various sites, where i found similar complaints with no answers ... I posted my results here, and EA forums and Amish forums to warn people of possible problems. Out of good will. But while I was in outhouse wiring up the bomb, TigerHawk retried my pc bf2 acct access and got in. I had previously tried carefully a number of times slowly to be sure before I entered data correctly so I suspect their acct server acceptor was overloaded for awhile. So it works now. I'll post performance results when I get a chance ofcourse. I'll update EA and Amish forums now so others know they are likely safe to go ahead and try the patch but realize if ea acct servers busy or down fro mwhatever, you can't play. So I reiterize my opinion that EA should lose the worldwide acct verifications and stats, leaving that to individual servers, which in past with previous games had much less problems. This would help generate more cutomer satidfaction and more sales.
