in case your email reaponse fails to get thru to you, due to occaissional probs with that, a vote was held and resulted in what looks like atleast 1 more month. there were a number of yes's and no's. more ban time won but the tide is turning.
  2. my guess is it's bf2 patch and video card/driver related. something more or different the patch has game doing with video card or ram, that works for awhile then something gets or builds up too much, causing the crash. maybe try backing video drivers back one or more if using latest. or making sure video card set for default max performance settings. my other concerns would be ram or hard drive filling up.
  3. Thanks for letting me know it's not real. :o
  4. :o i rarely use it. i not good at it yet. if trouble with one i have tried it to find him. but usually do better staying on move while looking for his flash, then go from there. :o
  5. Hmmm. Interesting news to me. Changing monitor can have this effect on bf2 ? Or maybe even changing device manager listing of monitor from "default" to proper actual monitor, if one realized they had not done that ? Perhaps resetting device manager monitor and drivers would appease bf2 ?
  6. I was the DJ who kept telling team where to dosy doe. Okay, time to exit stage left, Snagglepuss. :o
  7. hmmmm ... any team member not near you at time won't know unless it stands out later with big red cross ... but in reality, we would not put them where our members might go ... so i dunno ... i try to stay with reality. :o
  8. Klink : "To wipe or not to wipe, that is the question" :o Kane : You enjoyed playing though i guess. injuries happen at any age and health strength. don't take too much risk. like trying to jump over those defenders. :o
  9. hmmmm... try do determine if video prob or bf2 or other ... you said when you try to connect to an online server ... do you get into single player ? if single not work then my guess is bf2 trying to load video drivers not setup anymore properly for your system. try changing video options and applying. then rechange video setting to something minimum that should work easily. by resetting bf2 video shader config file this way it may clear up and reset. if you recently changed hardware or video drivers, try going back to earlier video driver that you know worked.
  10. because of reading here and there about latest patch unlock questions and probs, I'm waiting for soon patch fix before i decide any unlocks.
  11. i sorry for your probs. i'd try to fix or replace the easiest to hardest things. in other words ... add/remove uninstall video drivers and related software. reboot. reinstall oldest (cd?) vid drivers but not extra utility software. reboot. i found with my older 5200 128 mb nividia, newer drivers caused probs with my less then recent hardware. my youngest son's counter strike would lock up after while. going back to 77.77 nvid drivers fixed that and bf2 showed no fps diff. so you have to try older drivers and test everything before deciding driver updates may help since they may hurt too. if still messed at this point i'd try a registry fixer like "fix-it" "reg-cleaner". also maybe check for bad files with scandisk or fix-it disk fixer, etc. as well as a good defragger. winxp defragger is poor. fix-it 2000 defragger not good for me either. start game. go 1st to video settings and change something to reset it's vid config file. close game and restart it. i guess failing all above. have to consider totally uninstalling bf2. reboot. look for and delete any remaining bf2 folders/files. reboot. rund reg cleaner. reinstall bf2. failing fixing or replacing vid card files or bf2 files, next is all ea games hard drive and registry stuff. repaeating reboots and reg cleaners. failing that, ouch, i'd guess wiping hardrive of everything and reinstalling winxp and everything in proper order of updating. I hope you solve the frustration soon. I sure hate my own and try to help others with theirs if i can when i can. :o

nice. art is not a waste of time. atleast to the artist. j/k :o
  13. Sorry for your probs def. I think i heard there were probs related to ati vid cards with recent bf2 update. Though i had none with older ati Radeon 9600 XT 128 mb vid card after bf2 update. maybe only newer ati drivers and cards are effected as i've heard some with them have had probs. if probs, i have some suggestions to try: 1-change something in bf2 video settings and apply to get popup saying changing video something. close bf2 totally then restart to get it to reset what card and drivers you have. 2-clear possible confilcts in win registry. uninstall all ati drivers and software from add/remove list to remove all ati stuff. reboot. install latest drivers from cd or harddrive. update them. reboot. do step 1 above. 3-rerun bf2 update if still probs. change bf2 video settings to reset it's video config file. all i changed was 800-600-60 to 800-600-75. then saved back to 60 refresh for what i think is more performance. 4-failing all the above. sad, uninstall bf2... reinstall and update bf2 ... 5-failing above = sadder = uninstall all bf2 and maybe all ea to use registry cleaner to wipe all ea and bf2 keys from registry.
  14. People are basically the same anywhere no matter where they are. It's their situation, beliefs, upbringing, government, etc ... choices of what to be "pissed" about that is the differance. :o :o
  15. No problemo. Holding my truck together with duct tape is.
  16. Wow. Tanks Klink. As suggested by many here including Mac, seems our pcs need 1st at least cost, upgrade of ram from 512 to double or triple.
  17. Sounds good to me. I'll find out when I find a time to play witout lag.
  18. I am more confused the usual. I thought Mac said last year or 2 ATI has performed as good if not better then Nvidia. I'm using old xl5200 nividea with amd in pc2 and newer ati with Intel cpu in pc1 (TigerHawk). Both seem about the same according to fps check in bf2. Now back to my accordian. ;-)
  19. Interesting stats breakdown visible in it.
  20. Distinquished ? "Dismissed !!"
  21. Klinked.

    AWKnowledged laddy, thankyou.
  23. Hmmm. Tigerhawk and I tried it with patch in TAC. Was a lot of players though (50?) and some showed pings of 250. We had lag so had to give up after 30 minutes. We hope it was just the high pingers and many players and not the "increased graphics" mentioned about patch.
