  1. People. I understand you usually are just trying to get a laugh with some comments. Butt please be mindful of how it may be taken by someone. Possibly not in the nice laugh attempt way for the poster you intended ? I spoke with him in xfire as well as this thread comments. He appreciates the positve opinions from all and understands venting should be rare, especially persoanl stuff. I just don't think it warrents questionable humor. 'If you can't say something nice, say nothing at all". Everyone be strongly advised not to give out info on your home location, when people there work, or meet internet acquaintance that asks to see your home. As they may be trying to see if they can steal stuff from your home when just you there. Don't make these meetings anywhere near your home or at all, atleast have trusted company with you. Enuff said. Thread locked. Thanks to all for attempts to humor thread starter. ;-)
  2. "No Sir". I mean, I respect everyone for their different likes and dislikes. I prefer not to "label" myself or anyone with one word that usually doesn't reliably define another person accurately. Unless they continually annoy me like some riders on the city bus.
  3. Installed it in both pcs that usually get 10-20 fps in bf2 and sf with no or little lag unless connection bad or too many players (64). nvidia amd pc screen was scrambled until i changed bf2 video setting from 800 res 60 refresh to 800 75 refresh like 1024 75 res desktop. but fps was very laggy seeming around 5 fps. ati intel pc worked at in game 800 60 refresh with same bad lag. 75 refresh no better in that. so y'all know, don't bother unless you have much better system then our two 1.5 mhz cpu pcs with 512 mb ram, 128 mb nvidia and 128 mb ati video.
  4. I followed latest instructions. Changed xp unzipper route with browse button to ...\bf2\mods\bf2\levels\ . Then realized need to specify additional folder ...levels\Road_to_Sinjar\ . So created that folder and moved the 2 zips and txt file into it. The Info folder in original zip is showing 0 kb. It was not created by extractor so I also created that "Info" folder in Sinjar folder. The Sinjar map doesn't show in multiplayer - create local - map select list . The 2 zip folders were unpacted larger then in 1st zip. Is this the prob ? If so, i don't understand how to remove them without uncompressing them ? They still show as zips but are slightly larger then in main zip. I'm getting headache. Moving on to other things.
  5. Col Hogan replied to Scraps's topic in Gaming
I and many have suffered that frustration Scraps. I then look at how many reins we have left and if last flag is cappable. If not capable but reins almost gone, I figure there's no hope anyway so it's soon to be over. The enemy may figure why prolong the obvious so they speed things up so we all can try again soon in new map. But if there are lots of reins, maybe giving your team a chance to organize and get another flag, then I agree it sucks. Is easier said then done to correct I think. Just starts flaming chat back and forth. I have suggested the odd time when my team had last enemy flag surrounded, lots of enemy reins left, we might want to stay out and give them some fun of trying to sneak or break out. But it's a game so not as easy to control everyone like orders from ranking people in war. Thanks for your post, it is understood and maybe by others reading it a few more will think of your point in future. I refer mostly to non-members ofcourse. I try, though sometimes forget (human;-), to think of it like a sports game. If the other team slauders me, I congratulate them. And don't stay on same poor team. ;-)
  6. Hmmmm. With this assuring post I'll download now and try.
  7. My FA sprays don't show to me in FA in d3d but do to others there. HL1 and FA definitely prefer opengl drivers for various effects. But, like you, i lost ability to use opengl after getting 77.77 nvidia drivers. Maybe I should get the newer driver you mentioned ?
  8. I forget keyboard keys to copy paste winxp cmd tarcert results as she in bed but at this this rare not net busy time to yuor bf2 server it was 11 hops wit hhighest at 77 ping.
  9. Okay. Preacher mode here. I had the same worries. No date. The stress had me not being myself months ahead of time, trying to attract someone to go steady with me for that 1 dum night. I suffered a number of "no thankyou's". Some were rude "no way". Important lesson here is this : BE YOURSELF. Don't try to be like anyone else. If you're not popular, focus on the girls that are not that popular. Like the ones that are very quiet. Try to find one that has similar interests and feelings as you. Work on that by introducing yourself by name and your interests. Then incase they getting bored with that quickly ask what are their interests and goals/plans/hopes in life. When you find something in common you have something to work on. If time gets short to prom, don'y worry about common interests, the only interest for them and you to express is sincere respect to give them repsectful partner to prom. ;-) DESPITE THE BIG SOCIAL PRESSURE TO HAVE A DATE FOR PROM, it does not matter. What matters is that you attend. If you don't you will regret it the rest of your life. You will gain much strength and self respect then and in later years by going anyway. There will be many i found out afterwards that did not have dates to dance with. No big deal. They socialize with those not dancing. Not everyone dances all the time. How to socilize at this monentise event you may wonder ? Easy ... you ask people to answer questions they like, about themselves ... their experiences of the year ... what was the funniest ... worst ... embarassing ... frustrating ... etc ... when you get people talking about what matters to them you have their interest and appreciation ... if they don't respond the same to you with such questions you have atleast opened their door of interest to listen when you quote some of your own, hopefully in way they can relate to or atleast laugh with ;-) So yes, you MUST GO. Take camera for pics you will cherish when you are 60 ;-) I "been there done that". If I can prevent others from making regrettable choices as I feel i have with my life, i do so. It helps me feel better.

  11. Salute to those that posted good common sense that parents have much stress from work/bills/chores/kid concerns to deal with and matters and people like their children to worry about, needing understanding THEIR way. When I was before and during teen yrs, I remember thinking negatively about one or the other, but was still appreciative of the other things they did for me, even if all they could do was feed and cloth me. I was fortunate to have it explained to me by them that they were having problems making enough money to pay for the house, let alone the food and cloths. I was told by them they would do whatever else they could for me when they could. That I could ask for anything but understand they simply may not be able to say yes. As for the possible "nitpicking" about one's appearance or organization and cleanliness of room... I realized after moving out on my own and further educated my thinking once I had to think for myself ... I had much to be thankful for ... the list is endless ... start with house being paid for, food, cloths, anything else were bonuses, like bikes, toys at xmas and birthdays, despite creditors knocking at door for payments, swimming lessons, sports, some of which i hated but later greatly admired them for keeping me in, etc ... as to keeping neat your room and your appearance ... i realized later, although they maybe could have gone about it a nicer more understandable way, it was or my benefit later in life ... because to be attractive to a mate you must be clean and cleanup after yourself or other sex seeing mess will think you are helpless and lookin for maid ... being organized, clean, well tempered with no temper tantrams will teach you how to better improve your life and job and relationship possibilities ... etc, etc, etc. so if anyone's parents seem to be picking on them, remember they are worried about your future possibilities as well as their own money and free time to relax worries. One of the many rules they told me, that i admire and usually remember, is we all need to think of always even in the face of a violent loud shouting cusser is this ... "if you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all". To improve, when someone not talking nice to you, or so you think, stay calm, nod head, acknowledge their comment, smile, say i see your point, i'll think on it. Or something to that effect because you take the wood from their fire (possibly fueled by other worries of theirs) by saying something agreeable to them thus helping them relax so they may leave you alone for the moment since you seem in agreement, thus you now have time to relax and think about what they said, why, etc ... how best to handle ... Also, when you feel down or angry, ask yourself could things be worse. They always can be. This helps you reduce the tension or worry. Count what you have to be thankful for. Instead of what you regret. Now get to work soldier Count the "positives", not the "Negatives", and work on being and helping others feel more positives. It helps you feel more positive too. Much better then shooting negatives out wherever. ps: it's best to vent to people that you know for sure really care about you ... your family, when/if they have the free time from their demands and worries ... regular friends don't usually want to have that burden ... they may endure it but you risk losing their interest in you if you do, or make a habit of it ... BEWARE MAKING A HABIT OF VENTING ... it's not good for you ... the odd time is human ... but in the right place, right time, right people ... practice being strong, but nice and caring yourself ... you'll get more respect from people by only ocaisionally venting, expressing your ideas of how to deal with it ... accept without argument what you here back ... food for thought ;-) you have a lot to be thankful for i'm sure. get your thinking more at what YOU should do for you and other's opinions of you ... build your self respect in nice self-respecting organized logical thankful ways ;-) Sorry if i come across like a demanding parent or "the TAC preacher" ... j/k ;-) I don't always "practice what i preach". ;-) Butt atleast I think about it. Don't get very angry or drunk or drugged because in that state of mind you have no reason circuits working in your brain. ;-) And for a closing laugh, I thankyou, if you don't make a habit of this, for helping ME feel a little bit better ;-)
  12. I've yet to try this myself. Loading outside (or can you put them inside out of sight ? ) a jeep with all 5 of my c4s, full throttle it toward small area of maybe small houses that team has died lots trying to get near, jumping out from full throttle how far will it go ? When it gets amongst these few small buildings and i detonate, does it's kill radius effect them hidden in or behind houses and does how much c4 make a differance ? Question : does more c4 get larger blast kill radius ? Anyone know ?
  13. From what I've seen of that gun on tv, it should have more kill power even for light armor trucks and aircraft.
  14. 1. I'm number one.

Is that ring around your left eye gold ?
  16. Well, feedback anyone, tried it ?
  17. I don't understand "surf maps" ? I noticed in your original post of error it showed mention of dx8. Wondering about that. Also, I recall from way back, a time when I needed desktop res same as in game res to stop a similar prob with something which I no longer have. So maybe try css set for d3d 800 and have desktop also at 800 res to have desk and game same res. Also, incase the d3d config in registry or game is messed up, maybe try opengl mode in game video settings at various resolutions. I suspect maybe something needs to be turned on or off in properties of video card settings. As this could also relate to the video driver version in use, maybe try newer or older driver versions, being sure to fully uninstall, reboot, delete remaining video card software, clean registry, reboot, reinstall other video driver and software. By the way, what is your system hardware, software and driver specs ?

Thanks Bumbo and Rob. I missed it otherwise might have been there. I didn't get to this forum til now. Been often tired, work my way up from more important sc, admin, clan forums and don't always get further up to here and main, etc. Maybe soon or next time.
  19. Okay, so the prob started with 77.77 drivers ? And gone with 81.98 nvid drivers ? I didn't think vid drivers would crash steam. That's why i wondered if someone else may be borrowing your steam login causing you to be rejected. or firewall partially blocking their confirmation of your legitamcy. Or messed up blob file which just needs renaming to replace. Since updating mine to 77.77, I can't play CS in opengl. Also can only use 800 res in D3D for CS. FA works in d3d 640 res which i prefer for bigger targets ;-)
  20. I forgot to mention, it has to be 800 res in d3d, for me, or it closes back to desktop.
  21. Thanks to the many arcade games, giving chance to get trophy on maybe one or another, I got great enjoyment from this and laugh posting link to funny song about Monsters. I can think of many more funny songs that sort of relate to some of these arcade games. It's encouraging to know a link to such songs can be put in comments line of scores. Great work Gator.
