"Bloody nice", "good show ol chap". Hope it doesn't get bloody. I got tired of bugs and bees getting in my helmet, traffic in my way or not seeing me, slipping on cornering, etc. Went for while with on/off road version to play at hill climbs, jumps, etc. That fun til you catch 20 feet of air from jump and bust the shocks and nearly my back. Switched to 4wd jeep with roll bar. That was fun too but wore off after while. Now in TAC.

What are the minimum system requirements on the box ? What are your system specs ? How does it run in single player with details and AI maxed out ? (to simulate cpu/vid card load in mutiplayer with lot of players).

Be ready to shoot them fast, with a good hi zoom camcorder. Then maybe have Statecop look up the car plate and pay them a visit.

the demo has very limited compatibility. hopefully for those of us not sure, others will post, especially lower end systems, how retail BF2 works, as of June 23'05. :cool:

Edit addin : I should have mentioned poll allows multi votes. With possible pulling of plug on FA when BF2 full retail comes out at end of June'05, what games that TAC's generous financial supporters may still have serving, might you be able to play here ? I'm guessing it will be 2 for sure, maybe a third depending on contributions, votes, donators and financiers' feelings on it all and input from y'all. :cool: Gator and any other cash supporters have been very generous paying to keep THEIR FA server going publicly longer then they really cared for, "been there done that lots". He expressed repsect for many that continued to use it, so found it hard to pull the plug. A big salute and thankyou for it from all of us. Donations with mention of requested games have and may help if enough for whatever they hear from us. All please respect their costs and generosity for this as well as providing one of the best controlled game servers re/language/cheaters/good team play...etc servers there is on the net !! For those FA lovers like me, a similar version of it is in the works as add on for Half Life 2 So I am guessing it may boil down to HL2:Counter Strike Source and BF2 with BFV possible 3rd option if enough say they will play and support. Be advised that BF2 demo requirements may not leave you out from full retail version. Much research has found various big chain stores like Walmart and Futureshop saying in their websites the retail BF2 they are told will work with win98se and up if you have close to the hardware specs minimum. It comes they say as cd or dvd version. Telling me, it is very big, meaning maybe 3 or 4 cds or 1 dvd. Hence, they wanted their demo to be as small as reasonable for easier downlaoding and likely had to leave out coding for many operating systems other then winxp as well as video cards to keep demo size down. So those of us not sure and wanting to find out, simply buy at store, confirming there the box says your system will run it. If not, return for instant refund. By the way, HL2 AND CSS work in our pcs that may or may not be good for BF2, thanks to someone letting us try HL2:CSS. AND for us FA fans, a similar version of HL1-FA IS IN THE WORKS FOR HL2, CALLED "FIRETEAMS" !! :peace:

in case it helps you, my nvidia gforce fx 5200-agp-128mb won't run bfv with newer drivers, but runs it fine with drivers from about 2 yrs back. i suspect they stopped coding win98 compatability in them. may not apply to you if you have xp.

I would vote for [Dial] Doc if he was on list, despite him moving on to other games mostly, rarely seen in FA much now. Because I did play lots with him in past. I admired him for following : gave team radio recon on enemy when it seemed bad and necessary ; short and to the point ; gave good suggestions to team on areas needing reinforcement ; did much to help team ; left team if team #'s unbalanced or same numbers but skill badly unbalanced ; never shouted or used questionable language ; was highly skilled great player for kills for your team yet never resorted to cheap spawn camping becasue i guess he treated it as a game to try to keep enjoyable for both sides as much as possible ; i could go on but getting long here. Cheers to DOC. Not a lot of experience with others on list except Klink. I know he has some traits like Doc so voting him.

all good points i guess. the question is do we want full realism like real war that can suck on the less organized and skilled side ?, or some attempt at fair play as is usually the hope in games and sports ? Just "food for thoughts", or should I say lead.

I can't choose in poll because all guns there can have times based on teams and map, that might make them preferable. A hard to break frontline benefits from grenades. Close contact situations can prefer fast shooters or shotties. Bigger areas maybe snipes and m79's.

hmmmmm... this is getting more depressing ... seems even if we somehow change from win98se to xp full, our 2 gf fx 5200-128 mb vid card pcs won't cut it ? rrrrrrrrr If anyone has an Nvidia Gforce FX 5200/128 mb agp and BF2 demo please post how it did and your system specs. We got 2 p4-1.5's/512mb ram.

Unless minimum spec testing reporting has improved over last 5 yrs. My experience is you want a hair over minimum or you'll have crappy performance, atleast in multiplayer with more then a handful of palyers. Best to be close to suggested specs. Doesn't look promising for us. Tiger and I hair under specs with 2 identical pcs of p4-1.5 mhz(specs ask for 1.7), 512mb mobo ram(specs say that min,suggest 1gb), Nvidia Geforce FX 5200-128 mb (specs require 5700+ 128mb min, suggest 256mb). And although Futureshop says full retail will work with win98se, I doubt it as this mistake has happened before. They didn't make demo work for 98 so not likely the retail will either folks. I would try demo to see how it performs if it worked with 98 before getting retail, to know if shade under min specs matter much. Acquaintance I copied demo on cd for said friend of his in pc store would give him copy of winxp, commercial version, but i not sure if that would be like 30 day demo of xp until i register online or what. he left in hurry for bus. i asume i would have to register, pay online to get actual xp key# . Anyone know about this ? Atlest then i could try demo in 1 pc to see how it run.

Hmmmmm. Where did the money you have come from ? Them ? I can imagine they maybe are thinking you already have a decent pc. And that you may find more important uses for the money later. One of the best things to learn is saving and resisiting spending on truly unnecessary things. When you atain adult age they are maybe hoping your priorities on spending or saving for longer lasting investments, will change. So in the "MEAN"time they are doing what they consider more responsible as parents and best for you in long run. Appreciate that atleast It's not smart to not have some savings that you continually add to from earnings. One good point already posted here was as long as you're kept happy at home, you can't get into trouble away from home. But, I'm guessing they think highly enough of you that they doubt that would happen. Which may mean they prefer you working on relationship/people skills. Important later in life for knowing truly good "picks" and not. Practice makes for better judgement. They maybe just fear you'll have no balance of learning social skills/getting to know the many kinds of people out there ... and your pc time. Patience is truly a very good thing. I hope you don't get angry with them. Continue nice calm reasoning with them, but not every day. Maybe once a week. So they don't get angry which won't help. If you must, get sad, not mad. Good luck. Excellent point. Whoever gets demo download completed first can upload it here for TAC members to download fast.

Hard choices to pick just 1. Tried to think of 2 sided balance as to defending and pushing out when surrounded. As well as not too small with lots of flags and hiding spots to go for. With good team response covering all points, another consideration was number of flanks with more giving more choices. It was hard but after considering many things, I guess I have to say Crash and burn from my M79 grens.

I dunno... i have Intel 1.5 cpu, 512 mb ram and 128 mb gforce FX 5200, win98se. and an Amd 1.3 " , " " " " " " " " " " . I guess I have more homework to determine if it does or can get 1.4 shader from updates. Problem with updated video drivers is my bfv no work with them. with older drivers bfv is fine. Microsoft utility I downloaded and ran to tell me if I can get away with winxp upgrade said i have to give up "fixit 2000" ; "Norton Utilities 2000" ; "Memturbo2" ; and probably "NIS 2003". Said hardware drivers in question too unless I reformat and use full install instead of upgrade. If I can determine my hardware can run it, I might consider winxp.otherwise the cost of all the software and hardware would be rediculous. Any knowledgable info you anyone can give me ? Anyone have a gforce fx 5200-agp-128mb vid card and bf2 demo ?

Well, taking out enemy ammo not in their spawn, helps your team I guess. Unless a team-mate needs it bad ?

So the game has bugs in it ? Does that bug you or what ?
