BF2 pissing me off...
The symptom you are describing can be caused by a server's firewall blocking your connection by IP/socket request. This is probably not the case though. Did you try just connecting off the master server list or are you trying it via the favorites list? Have you tried XP system restore?

Women are odd
Doesn't look bad - they usually say that to a guy who's mortally wounded bleeding profusely.

Any type of blacklisting on yours or the server's firewall. I think you mentioned last night that you aren't using one. Are you using a router? Post your setup. Can you tracert to the server? Can you even ping the server? Try to connect then pull up a C:\ prompt and type netstat -an and see what state the server IP/port is in. Do you have a very new virus scan application? Some are blocking ports now. Do a port scan on yourself and see if your ports are blocked. Post your net configuration and I'll help any way I can. Merc

IE7 Beta releases - link...
Tab browsing - competing with Foxfire - love it in foxfire. Phishing protection - haven't tested yet looks interesting. Spiffy GUI enhancement - not a really to exciting but nice. RSS feeds - I will be using more - love them. To subscribe to a web feed - as described by IE help (sorry I could not add the icons). Go to the webpage that has the web feed you want to subscribe. Click the Feeds button to discover feeds on the webpage. Click a feed (if more than one is available). If only one feed is available, you will go directly to that page. Click Add/Subscribe. In the Subscribe to Feed dialog box, type a name for the feed and select the folder to create the feed in. Click Add. To view your subscribed web feeds, click the Favorites button, and then click the View Feeds button. MS IE team fell behind in development. I think this is really more a "catch up" release to stay competative. Their the 500lb gorilla in the space a little worried by Foxfire and others.

BF2 Server Connection Quality Group Test: PingPlotter
Not real sure about the X but it may be the last reading, max value, or the average. Those bars are statistical I believe showing range. What I did notice is that your latest graph shows a different IP (hop 9) which tells me your traffic is routing differently. If you have periodic times of connection problems you could be experiencing conjestion on the network. This is where the ISP has to boost capacity. Since your connection is "best effort" they could just screw you. DSL is closer to dedicated bandwidth though the speeds in most cases are less than cable. Cable connections are shared bandwidth using proxies at the head end. As demand increases bandwidth can decrease.

BF2 Server Connection Quality Group Test: PingPlotter
Looks like there is somewhat of a bottleneck between the att network and theplanet.com. I can see on Cleatus and Sharps's graphs that they have the same problem at the transition. Probably the union point of the two networks. I believe in the pro version of PingPlotter (30 day trial) you can get the address and email contact of the administrator for the router and get a hold of them. Sometimes they also have a phone number. I think www.visualroute.com will get you that same info. You can also do a whois lookup and see if any contact info comes up. Looks like Mac's connection too goes through the att network and experiences a little latency. Something is up with the att junctions - probably poor att equipment. Something happens around 12.119.136.14 for some.
