I think the confirmed number of explosions was 4, not 7 (as I think I said earlier)and hasn't this Secret Organization group already claimed responsbility?
  2. long time. Months...years! I applied in 1986 and got in just 2 years ago!
  3. I don't get it. Having a website which overly uses flash makes you a pop-star now?

I actully nearly laughed when I heard that

This will certainly make things interesting... from what I'm hearing, there were 7 explosions, with 20 dead so far. Sad stuff indeed

No, this was a VERY good idea on EA's part? Why? Look at every other game with some kind of ranking system (or any online RPG with levels) people almost always instantly get to the top level within the first week, which means they get to beat down on everyone else, and also keep a firm hold on all stat ranking systems. By setting the scores to what they are, they: 1)Weed out the truely dedicated from the past-time players 2)Destroy leetism. 3)Make you actully have to EARN your ranks (like seriously, when you get to corpral, I'm positive you'll have an amazing feeling of actully earning that spot) 4)Make it so people don't max out this feature of the game in a week and leave no other reason to play the game.

I do concur.Quick on the draw there mac...quick on the draw.
  10. yeah, I thought about striders for a second, then just forgot about it.Although they do have a weird resemblance, War of the Worlds was written about 100 years ago
  11. he didn't want the guy to shoot the aliens because one of them might get away and alert the other machines, or the sound might alert the other machines alltogehter
  12. I posted a topic on another board, here's the post: I've just returned from my local theatres first showing of War of the Worlds, and I must say, this has to be the best sci-fi movie I've seen in recent memory. The first thing that struck me was that this movie was scary. Not because of pop-ups or monsters, but because of how real Spielberg protrays the situation that humanity is it. Now, I'm not refering to the massive mechanical alien death machines, those are clearly 100% science fiction (duh) but I'm talking about the human-human situations. Spoilers for a bit here, so please do not read on if you have yet to see the movie. An example would be the scene at the ferry docks, where they're driving in the van. The crowd is very 'calm' at first, just yelling and such, but grow more violent, until people start pulling guns out. Then, somebody takes it, but is shot himself. That scene showed off the basic barbaric instinct of survival people have in the worst case scenario. It really creeped me out, because this is what would actully be happening. And then just after that, on the boat, people are scrambling all over the place, hoping to get onto the boat. It's the true 'every man for himself' idea. But what really creeped me out was when they looked out onto the hills with the massive machines just burning people. It WAS really freaky and it felt really real. I can't explain it any other way. Creepy because it was real. Besides that, the movie had a great feel to it. It always seemed like they (main characters) were on the run and humanity was really getting wipped out (the scene with in the news truck when the reporter showed him the video of that city getting wasted by all those machines was really cool and gave it a really epic sense). The battle scene (if you can call it that) was also pretty cool. I would've liked to see more machines vs the army instead of just seeing the army shoot. But when the machines moved over the hill and just wipped out everything, I felt a sense of hopelessness, it's like nothing could take them down, and I was really bummed by that. Of course, I was laughing finally when they were able to blow the ******* out of one of the machines near the end. Probably the only thing I found missing explaination there was why were their shields suddenly down? I don't think they explained it, and I don't think the machine's shields would go down just because the aliens inside caught the flu. Anyway, it was an awesome movie, I definatly recommand it to everyone who's got the cash to see it.
  13. the probe crashing into the rock is the size of a washing machine it won't budge it too much
  14. get the anti-tank gun, since it's always good to have a good anti-infantry weapon for anti-tank (if that's what that gun is) like, I always play medic, but if there is some tank guy just goign around mowing down everyone (or camping) I'll switch to anti-tank and take him out. I haven't played in a couple of days, so I'm slightly behind... here are my stats so far http://bf2stats.ausgamers.com/stats/44529431/ not a whole lot I know, I only play as medic, and as you can see, just barely used any other class

muhahahhaha!Or could it be I've been around since March 2003?
  16. omg, the exact same thing happened to my cat. Once the bat got stuck on here she basically ran up and down the hall, jumped the entire flight of stairs leading to the basement, ran back up the stairs, and hid behind a door. It was freaky but yes, once my parents (and my very protective sister) leave, I will try this
  17. ok, do mean full blown game from scratch, or a mod and there's a lot more to creating a game or modding than just C++ programming
  18. That's Solid Snake (David), and the character Big Boss (with the eye patch and all) was the one who was slightly inspired by the Snake Pliskin character from the Escape From L.A/New York movies...but of course Solid Snake is a clone of Big Boss so I guess he can also be seen as slightly inspired, but much less so than Big Boss himself anyway...the character I most identify with is probably Gordon Freeman, since he's just your every-day guy put into some crazy situation

yeah, you were using AA rocketstry using the TOW launcher. 1 hit for APC kills it, 2 hits for tanks

they don't outright suckthere are a few bugs, but every game has those. It's fairly easy to find a good game (sometimes it isn't) and once you do it's a blast and there's nothing here that a good patch won't fix

I found this site, that really surprised me. Like...a 480 Watt PSU with Dual Fans and LED lights for $16 and a pretty cool case with a red front and a see-through side panel with a 450w PSU already in for $32 just check it out. I'm considering buying these first two things. There's nothing big and fancy there. The highest processor they have is 1.6ghz, but if you're building a second computer of some kind, this would be an awesome place to get the extra pieces (besides motherboard, proc, gpu, etc.) http://txmicro.com/ enjoy!

could it be some crazy coincidence? Like, was she some hiphopster mom? and what does LKJDL mean?
  23. exactly my thinking
  24. Although I haven't tried it myself, I found a list of console commands Found Here and found these: maybe someone could try the first two (one of them...I don't know what the difference between name and nickname is) and see if they work
