I think I can top this: you know the movie "There's Something About Mary"? You know the zipper incident? Yeah, it happened to me, not quite as bad as the movie, but it was by far one of the most painful things ever.

While I dont excuse a slow response, and I certainly am not saying anything against the victims, people have to realize that it takes a couple days to mobilize TENS OF THOUSANDS of soldiers, airmen, coast guard, aid workers, etc. Even harder when half of a state is UNDER WATER. It was a lose lose situation for everyone

I found out that something at work had forced him to start taking prozac, and then welbutrin and that his behavior was probably a side effect. He has since stopped taking them or had his dosage switch and there hasnt been a problem

that guys just really good, but those vehicle destruction shots seem a bit extreme. One shot and a plane/helicopter/vehicle explodes? Uh huh. I dont like sniping that much because it seems like the bullets just sort of disapear after a certain distance, no matter how you aim.

I got shockpaddled yesterday All I heard was, "Clear!" "Recharging" DEAD! The day i earned my basic knife was on Karkand 64 player. I think the other team was full of new players though, because the knife kills came fast and easy and thats not how it normally is with me

I dont mean to be antagonistic FINNER, but EDIT: Kywalker (sorry) is I think the equivalent of our doctorate students (or close to it) in all sorts of crazy physics. Debating with him over physics is like bringing a knife to a gunfight. Search some of his previous thread, he explains some the crazy stuff he is studying (quantum well lasers was it?).

a couple years ago they slowed light down to something like 35mph. I think you can also use Bose Einstein Condensates to "trap" light (BOE's are the 5th state of matter i think, a kind of super atom). I might be wrong, Ky is the most qualified to talk about this topic

hmmm, ok, as i pretty clearly said in my post this was a late night rant and I acknowledge a lot of it is wrong, I just reallly had to get it off my chest, its called venting. It made me feel better. I can delete the thread now if people wish. I love BF2, it is IMO one of the top 5 best games ever made, but like ALL games it has its frustrations, and sometimes they build up to the point that you just have to release some steam. I have been on plenty of pubs with good teamplay, had plenty of good clommanders, and had tons of fun all around. Playing with TAC guys is the most fun I have had in ANY fps to date, period. Please, I apologize for my whining, I didnt mean to start a flame war, I just needed to vent. My bad

sadly it seems that no one has a brain. No one seems to look at their map in general. BTW, the final event that triggered this little rant occured on the TAC server. Granted, the TAC guys were on the other team (which explains why they owned). The commander mode is great wide open maps where arty can actually kill people and when we have a large TAC contingent on. The other night, Eskimo was commanding (and doing a damn fin job) and there were two TAC squads. We destroyed the enemy. But yeah, commander is pretty useless unless you have TAC people on, which is part of the reason I only ever play when the TAC server is up. BTW does anyone else think you should need a minimum of 3 guys to cap a flag? One guy could neutralize it, but it should take at least a 3 man squad (no individuals) to cap.

I have waited before posting this little rant. Waited to see if it was only my own stupidity that contributed to my conclusion, but alas this was not the case. The commander truly is broken. 1) Troops NEVER listen to your orders, heck most of the time the squads are so spread out or weakly manned that orders are pointless anyway. 2) When everything goes to hell, the commander gets blamed even when its the troops who refuse orders, wont fight, walk right into their own arty, and generally suck it up. 3) The artillery is a HUGE gamble. Since no one seems to see teh HUGE GLOWING RED WARNING on the map that there is arty inbound, most friendlys are perfectly happy to walk right into your own fire and punish you as they get inadvertedly TKed. Only once have I ever walked away with a positive teamplay score as comm because of this and the fact that when you are commander, there is no way to get teamplay points (capping flags, healing, etc. no longer give pts when you are comm) Generally being commander has been a miserable experience, there have been a couple times wher everything has come together and things have rocked, but that has been the exception rather than the rule. People just dont seem to realize that the burden of the fight is on the front line troops while the commander can only lend a little bit of a helping hand. Heck, I have seen teams win quite easily without a commander period. Its not hard. Of course this is just my typical late night ranting so please take what I just said with a grain of salt. Im venting and it feels good, I fully understand that there are flaws in my gripes and that being commander can actually be quite fun, but it just feels good to get this all off my chest after a particularly nasty round where I was scapegoated for team incompetence.
