ITS BEEN NOT EVEN A YEAR SINCE BF2!!!! They havent even finished that game, I shudder to think what b2142 will be like. For the love of God, finish what you start.

I think it is. The maps are really good, a lot people are saying that at least and I agree. For me its the lag, the lag, oh and the lag. I usually have no problems finding teamwork on a random pub, but now I cant even play due to lag

hmmm... Im going to try calling EA, Im sure one of their techs might be understanding and know something we dont. After all, Ill bet they are gamers just like us.

Sorry guys, BF2 is just straight broken, I can't play like this anymore. Even when pings are below 100 there is severe banding and warping. Every server, no matter what. I have tried every tip from you guys, some from other forums, EA refuses to comment on this lag which is a known problem for a number 1.21 players, and I just generally can't deal with the frustration anymore. It was nice playing with you guys, especially Gator who put up with my lack of Vent etiquette without muting me Im not quitting the clan, just saying I won't be playing very often until some sort of fix emerges.

heh, yeah I finally got that part working, Euroforce looks pretty cool. As for the lag....

But the gameplay is so addictive. Its literally like crack, you get a short high in exchange for hours of pain and frustration.

Why BF2? Why? Haven't I treated you nicely? Didn't I buy you a 1000 dollars in hardware just so you would look your best, and this is how you repay me? So, in addition to the horrendous ping spikes that have made the game unplayable on EVERY server, I just bought and installed Euroforce, but no matter what I do, it won't let me play it. All the files are there, the maps are in the games server options, the servers aren't red, but I can't join not even in single player or on a local server. It keeps saying I have to buy it to play and that I should visit the website. Back to the lag issue, as far as I can tell, it is being caused by something in 1.21. DAMMIT, why can't these people fix things? I hope none of them repair their own cars. Right now I am doing a complete reinstall, it has worked in the past, lets see if it will do it again.

Damn Circuits and Sytems HW, I'll drop in if I can. Hopefully the lag will disapear just as magically as it showed up in the first place.

Typically I have Vent running, yes, but last night all the servers had huge pings and vent was not on.

UPDATE: So now I am lagging like made on every server. WTF? All I did was turn off the Windows wirewall.

I decided to post this here to get more exposure: I get tremendous ping spikes and rubber-banding on the TAC SF server. Its pretty constant, and it is driving me nuts. I have a connection to a DS 3 at school, and I have tried both T1 and Cable/DSL connections within BF2. I have tried killing tasks, defragging, and I'll try turning off the Windows firewall, but Im not sure that will help. Our school has some sort of crazy firewall, but it has never hindered BF2 in the past. Is there some other kind of port issue maybe? I don't know, it only seems to be the TAC server and it's making me a sad panda : ( Please help.

Funny, but tragically accurate. I hope all Swedish work ethic isnt like that.

Nope, only like 5 things. FIX INSTA-PRONE/SHOOT DAMMIT, ITS STILL THERE!!!!!!!! sorry. My hot button issue. 10 bucks seems reasonable, DICE is pretty good with making additional content relevant, just not fixing bugs.

I just bought Spec Ops, and I just have to say this: Its a lot like BF2 regular, great gameplay, buggy as hell. I get a noticeable performance drop in Spec Ops over regular, sometimes it won't register my attempts to sprint or go to iron sites (yes, this happens, its not a user problem), and just a couple of other things. Go ahead and get it, its worth it, especially for the new stuff, but be prepared for some annoyances.

I tried to play it two or three times, but all three times my system just couldn't handle the game. It was way to resource intensive for its day.
