DEFCON

Ive been gone for a while now, was there a changelog posted? Im curious to see how they plan on boning up BF2 now. Things I would like to see: Reducing the caliber of the Cobra MG to .22 rimfire. In its current form that weapon is just too powerful. Changing SAMs so they loop back and hit their launcher should they fail to lock on to their original target. It's not enough that they don't hit anything as it is, they should also kill their operator. Cartillery? That's lame. They should have tank-tillery! And instead of making it a single drop, make it a barrage a la arty. Just think, dropping an entire armored company on the heads of advancing baddies. They'll never suspect a thing! Bunnyhopping is cool and all, but I think you should also be able to run across walls and perform backflips and cartwheels while still firing. It would add that Matrix element that BF2 has been so desperately lacking Also, I dont see why people are trying to fix the whole misidentifying teammates as enemies bug. Its not a bug, its a feature! It accurately simulates the roll FF has in the confusion of combat. No matter that the guy is 5 feet away and clearly wearing your own teams colors. Ok, Im sarcasmed out. Seriously though, is there a changelog?

I dunno Im seriously bummed. TF2 was supposed to be the epitome of modern team combat. I remember reading all the articles about the (then) brand spanking new technologies it was going to incoporate. I was really looking forward to the gritty pseudo realistic setting they were going for. Even with all the team games that have come out in the 5 years since we last heard anything about TF2 I knew Valve would find some way to be unique. I just was expecting them to do this.... Im sure Ill still play it, since the original TFC was fun for some quick and dirty action (VIP hunt was awesome), but it will just feel like a graphical makeover to a game whose core gameplay has since been VASTLY improved and expanded on by other games.

Hey guys Im back from two weeks of training with my Guard unit and 3 weeks at the US Army Airborne school. I am happy to say I am the latest in the fine tradition of American paratroopers, 2nd generation in my case. I can only hope I live up to the standards both leading up to and after my commisioning in 2 years time. I would like to credit the Armory with helping me get through the course successfully. I have spent enough of the last few years frantically pressing the "9" key to deploy my canopy in game that when it came time to do for it real, it came quite naturally. Nevermind the static line

Life anyone? j/k. BF2 may be frustrating but at least you can literally blow your frustrations to smithereens, unlike real life. Im only at a pathetic 100+ or so.

I have only ever had one half decent sig and it has long since disappeared. Can someone make a nice one? I don't care whats on it, but I can give you a few ideas if it helps: 1) BF2 I'm a pretty good medic. I specialize in making the revive even when all odds are against me. 2) DEFCON refers to the old Cold War era DEFense COndition. It was basically the communist equivalent of our terror alert system. DEFCON 5 meant everything was hunky dory, DEFCON 1 quite literally meant nuclear apocalypse. 3) Despite my name change a few years back, I still have an unhealthy attraction to explosive death in games. Grenades and bombs will seemingly materialize out of nowhere to kill me, and only me. 4) Im a hilariously bad pilot in BF2 Just some ideas, once again I dont really care whats on it in the end just so long as it is in good taste. Yeah, I just suck at flying. All my missles just seem to veer off at the last second, and Im no good at shaking bogeys. I'll just stick to my ninja like medic abilities.

Yeah, I think I might have to learn how to fly a plane now. *sigh* Oh well, now I can be an airborne medic, able to revive people at Mach 2.

I gotta blow off some steam. Ive been playing a lot lately, and I gotta say, I am getting sick to death of inadequate air support on the USMC side. Not only are the F-35 and Cobra impotent compared to the other sides, but no one is ever willing to do some Air to Air cover. Game after game, I spawn and die withing a minute by some pilot who basically has free reign over the skies in his Su, MiG, j10, Z10, whatever. Also, why are planes able to lock on to SAM sites before the SAMs can even see the planes???? Not that it matters since the SAM missles are mostly useless vs. jets. For God's sake someone, learn how to dogfight so us groundpounders dont keep ending up fish in a barrel for even the most inexperience pilot.

Sweet. A shame US didn't even come close, but Italy winning is pretty awesome. I have very strong family roots in Italy, so it's almost as good.
