holy crap, are we talking about THE cambridge university? As in the one-of-the-best-colleges-in-the-universe Cambridge? wow, congratulations, did you sell your soul, your body, or work your arse off to get in?

I have played CS:Source, and I have wept over its beauty, its perfection, its same immature egotistical players, and its implications for HL2 as a whole. Despite the limited palette and extent of complexity in De_Dust I can tell that the graphics, the physics., and even the sound give Doom3 a run for its money, and i own Doom 3. My only gripes are: as always the CS players all deserve a swift kick in the gonads, a number of possible game killing bugs, and as usual Steam. Steam is such a revolutionary, awesome idea, and yet 2 years since i got in on the beta and nothing at all has changed. Hopefully once HL2 is done (in the year 2099) they will devote some time to completely redoing Steam and figuring out what is wrong with it.PSoff topic, but today i realized that Doom3 is a shameless rip off of HL. Everything in doom 3 has an hl counterpart, even the plot is almost exactly the same. They both make use of the same types of scripted events too, and they even have the same level progression and pacing, not to mention locale (black mesa/UAC lab, Hell/Xen, must escape/stop evil, G-man/Swann). Id is shameless in its copycatting. Oh well, imitation is the most sincere form of flattery

i have a radeon 9600 SE and doom 3 runs fine on medium detail at 640 by 480 which is my preferred res other than 800 by 600

according to the rules, it doesnt matter what orientation you are, all sexual content in names and in the forums arent allowed. There is even a sticky about it. It doesnt matter if your name is yaoi or CrazyHeteroSexMan they are both inappropriate names, or at least thats what i gathered from my interpretation of the rules. But then again, im not an admin or on staff so it doesnt really matter what i say

LOL, you do know that Doom3 does not utilize the soundcard at all to do its awesome sound scheme. They coded all the sound stuff so that it is processed by the CPU only. Onboard sound will sound as good as say an Audigy 2 platinum.

it was pretty funny, but honestly, its a shame that 9/11 is already passe and trite and ripe for lampooning. The world has a short attention span, heck Ill bet most ppl dont even remember that the pentagon was hit too.

Even PC Gamer knocked JO for lag. I guess those first couple servers I played on were flukes, because I went back to them hoping to regain some lag free play and much to my surprise they had become laggy as well

I was just playing on the TAC server, the moment I got into a helicopter, it was a lag fest. At another point I expended 50 rounds of ammo before a single shot registered on a guy moving away from me at short range in a straight line, and yes, i was firing in bursts. Id say 75% of the time everything is fine and dandy, but that other 25% can be a real game wrecker.
