i applied to West Point, got the nominations, but wasnt good enough on the PAE: \, still I got pretty close to passing it, Im going to go a year in ROTC (and perhaps the National Guard under the SMP) and then re-apply to the Academy.

bonus points to finner, and good luck with the app. I was a little late so I only got a 3 year (though the college still gave a hefty scholarship for the year without ROTC money). Will you still join ROTC if you dont get the scholarship?

We arent letting the Canadians or any other allied nation's sacrifices slip by (in fact I will mention them in a thread on June 6, kudos if you know what that is the anniversary of), its just the American day of remembrance for her vets.I too would fight to the death for the country, as it stands I have a rotc scholarship for college and plan to stay in long past the mandatory service time

would it not be kosher to ask how generous? I dont think it really matters, just the fact that he donated and complimented (instead of reviling us like some others) is enough. Im just curious

So please, just accept this humble thank you, and know it carries a lot of meaning, at least to me.Also, I would ask whoever reads this to take time out today to give thanks to those who have given the life or health in the service of the nation. I could not find the citations, but I know several soldiers and marines have been recently awarded the Distinguished Service Cross and the Navy Cross (the two awards for barvery topped only by the Medal of Honor in their respective service), and I would ask anyone who CAN find the citations to post them. It would be a shame if their heroics when unheralded, since the media doesnt deem them important enough to warrant any coverage.

Being a new (and maybe temporary with the advent of the sexolicious 6800) convert to ATI card, Ive been meaning to ask some questions about updating drivers. Right now Im using the DNA 2.2.4.3a drivers, and they're pretty good. The only real problem ive had is an FPS/System Lag thing in Day of Defeat that has rendered the game unplayable. Anyway, Im looking to upgrade drivers. Should i stick with DNA or go to the official ATI drivers, and which versions should i use

any news as to when the problems with 2.9 will be fixed?

I havent tried 1.01 yet, but I think I am going to like it. If the M60 is nerfed as bad it sounds killing Charlie copters will be harder than it already is though, not good. Still, I like the M14 a lot, and the M16. I think they made the right decision with the kit changes, though Im still wondering why the VC get the SA-7 and the Americans dont get the Redeye at least. If a VC copter takes a good position over an American spawn its game over man, they are next to impossible to kill with small arms (shotty- im looking at you in operation hastings)

yeah, i was never able to be one of those ppl perfectly in tune with the reticle. I was owned by azntwon like 5 time yesterday with the saiga, even though he rushed me from 20+ feet away and I was pumping M14 into him. Guess I never caught on to how to juke left and right and avoid being hit while rushing either

pfff, sounds cool, but I think Id rather keep the fun in gaming. My friend and his brother, sister, and another friend are all signed with the MLG for Halo tourneys. From what it sounds like from him, our gaming leagues are a lot more fun and less stressful.

Out of curiosity, has anyone had their fileplanet DL speed capped at 200kb/s? I had a subscription for a couple months and I was able to DL at 1.5mb/s (only half bandwidth, still good though). Heck I was even able to DL at that speed with my free account. Before I canceled my subscription though I stopped being able to DL at any more than 200kb/s. Its the same on my current free acct too. Everywhere else, my bandwidth isnt capped, and my testing still indicates Im getting my normal 3.0mb/s down. What the deuce is going on?

ewwww, Paluch I just got a horrible image in my head. LOL, HL2 looks sweet indeed, though we all know how games that take forever to develop usually end up... At this point its looking like Halo2 will beat the living shiznat out of HL2 out of the box. However, HL2 will have the mod edge after a couple months.

I went to the local EB and checked the HL2 display boxes, and guess what? They all said release was set at 9/2/04, the release date lookup guide there corroborated this. Granted 9/2 is still before the autumnal equinox, but for all intents and purposes, its no longer summer from the standard school starting POV. Its highly possible that this date is old, Im willing to admit, but as it stands HL2 is going to miss the summer release.
