LOL, look at one of my posts on this thread, i caught my little law of thermodynamics violation as well B) Im basing my idea off what some guy did at raktron.com. He used what looks like a garret and he does indeed have some sort of drive shaft attached, not sure how. I looked at superchargers but i couldnt figure out what they were and how to rig them (didnt find any cheap ones on ebay either, though i didnt check to hard).

noise is no problem for me, trust me. I just need to know how many RPMs i need to get that thing going at, and how do i cool it if thats even nessecary

Ive thought of that but Im going for the cool thing here. This system will soon become my sandbox as I get my college rig, and I think building in a turbocharger would be really freaking awesome. Heck If i can get my questions answered I might put in a duel turbocharger system considering how cheap i have found them (40-50 bucks tops on some old Garetts)BTW, ignore question B, I just realized it violates the 2nd law of thermodynamics, whoops!I really need the cooling issue resolved before i can proceed thoughoh yah, does anyone know where to get new or used electric motors? preferably high RPM ones that arent too expensive

Ok, I was recently inspired by a raktron.com turbocharged PC case project to do a feasibility test on me doing something of the same thing. The only thing is, the raktron one is more for show that anythingwhile the one I would like to LOOK into building would be somewhat functional. As so far everything is looking pretty feasible and actually pretty inexpensive as well (thank you ebay). Theonly real problem has been the issue of cooling. Since the PC generatesno air exhaust of any measurable size (unless I pressurized it, or would that even work?), Im going to use an electric motor to drive the compressor turbine at high RPM. I dont think i will be able run the turboat automotive speeds one way or another so I think heat wont be as big an issue as it is on a car turbohere are my questions:a) Could I pressurize the case in such a way that it would generate an equally pressurized exhaust strong enough to drive the turbine at usable levels:arrow: If A could be done, would it be possible to get the turbine moving with an electric motor and than cut it off once the exhaust gets going?c) How and where would I find the air or water cooling necessary? Would a computer water cooler work considering that the turbo wouldnt even be going 100000rpm (yes, 100000)d) is there anything else I am overlooking?

for my college PC, money will be no issue. Sooooo....Vapochill or this other thing thats like prometria or something.Both are on frozen CPUAlso, anyway I can use the refrigerator cooling on VGA and northbridge as well as on CPU? Most are just for CPU

Well lets see:I am 17, almost 18. I attend highschool in Carlisle PA (GPA = 3.6+), love working with computers/working out/running (basically a clone of finner, # of computers fixed and all), plan on joining the Army, and have no girlfriend (my current gripe). I have been playing FA and other HL mods since they first came out, and I play them because they are a fun relief from life and the TA people are some of the finest human beings in existence. Heck, my dad, a 48 year old retired LTC and Financial adviser loves nothing more than playing Call of Duty of Firearms when his schedule allows. Of course computers can be a big time suck so I have to make sure I have my priorities straight before sitting down and playing

I think the democrats are funny. You should listen to em' Squabbling amongst themselves, creating such deep divisions that when its all said and done the winning presidential candidate will have only his supporters to rely on for a vote. When Dean got the lead, the other candidates dragged him down, now Kerry has the lead, not for long, soon the other candidates will drag him down as well. Eventually one of them will win, but their supporters will so deeply divided within their own party that the democrats will basically become a bunch of squabbling factions (The dean faction, the kerry faction, etc.). They will never beat Bush that way, and thank God for it to. I think bush has more intelligence than people give him credit for, and I admire his testicular fortitude in gutting it out in Iraq and proving all the critics wrong (OK, jury still out on WMD, but think about it, if the Iraqis could literally bury their airforce in the sand, how hard do you think it would be to walk out into the middle of the desert and dig a hole and dump all ones WMD in it. No one would EVER find them). I also find it funny that the econmoy is growing faster than it has in 20 years, jobs are growing, etc. and yet the dems are still desperately clinging to the economy as some sort of rotted wooden campaign plank. However, I must say that I think the economy behaves as it has since our country was founded, a cycle of endless booms and busts that occur regardless of what an administration does

ahh, AK, you sounded so sincere, and in fact I am pretty sure you were but now that you have started a pissing contest with Shotty or whoever instead of simply leaving it at an apology you have lost you sincereity in my eyes. Rippers story doesnt help either. Regardless of your apology and even though you never explicitly asked to be unbanned, i think you should stay banned till you cool down a little.I can speak from experience, i ve been playing DC, bf, recently and for a while i was acting in such a way on the servers that it would have gotten me banned on any TA server. I understand ALL the frustrations inherent in DC and BF and since my little rash of hotheadedness I have cooled down and realized that its just a game, and if im starting to get frustrated by spawn camping, stupid teammates, TKers, whatever, i should just quit and do something else.oh and to other people who wish to avoid a situation like this in the future, while TA's rules were designed and in fact do provide optimal FUN gaming conditions, it can get real old real fast if one is too overzealous in trying to maintain them.

can anyone tell me what the mail server for hotmail is? I need it to use e-mol and get around our schools stupid new no-email rule. I found address which i thought was hotmails server, but it didnt work. Any other ideas?

yeah i have it, it was fun in its a day, a revolutionary game even. Sadly, they never seemed to fix teh lag issue in mulitplayer. I couldnt get the multiplayer to play smooth with either DSL or cable. Im looking forward to the sequel and the Xbox port which will be the original with the sequels sexy new engine.

yeah teamspeak is pretty good, used in for Halo PC for a while.Carl: whoops my bad, its the SMAW not the At4 isnt it?Ive figured out why i suck at DC, its my name. So far, every time I play I always at the wrong spot at the wrong time. I seem to attract MiGs, missiles, snipers, artillery, and all sorts assorted ordnance. Its always some sort of unavoidable coincidence that the enemy shows up when I am most helpless (taking off in a plane or chopper, reloading, bailing out to switch planes, etc) from now on, I am switching my game tag from "Flak Magnet" to "Not a Target", that should help. Otherwise the thing in the game I'm even sort of good with is well, nothing, actually, I never live long enough to do anything. Still, the game is growing on me.

wow, i didnt know the DC team was actually trying for realism, if thats the case they are failing miserably on every level. DC is about as unrealistic as you can get. Last time I checked, you wont die if you jump from 5 feet off the ground, also, the At4 missle launcher can penetrate any armor out there so there is no reason why it should take 3 plus to kill a BMP which is vulnerable to small arms fire. Still, the game is growing on me. I discovered my calling as a spec ops operative making little bird gun runs, boy how i love those miniguns

i originally wrote a huge, barely coherent rant on DC as my response, but i realized how stupid it made me sound, so ill leave it at this. DC suffers from low player IQ and a HUGE sacrifice to gameplay from realism (stingers that dont home, BMPs taking 3+ AT rockets, impervious helicopters to name a few things), and some very unrefined net and graphics coding. MAybe its just me (i like some semblance of realism), maybe its just my machine, but DC was more of a chore than a fun activity for me.Of course it could just be the fact that im very sick at the moment, and the slightest things are making me very irratible

blah, i just played the latest release of DC. It looked so cool, but it sucked so bad. DC is a buggy, buggy mess. I wont rant about it, but needless to say I dont think ill be playing again anytime soon
